| This anime took a great concept and turned it into a mediocre experience. I had expected something at the level of Spice and Wolf in quality. I guess it's worth a 6/10. It's better than the average show but not by much. |
| Finally finished. Overall, this show had potential but wasted on poor execution. A lot of it was really dull, especially when it just starts jumping from scene to scene with little to no organization or explanation whatsoever. It was unnerving to try and follow what the hell was going on most of the time because some parts felt rushed or skipped some chapters (I haven't read the novel by the way). Had some fun moments between characters, but even they don't have much of a lasting impression. 5/10. Uncanny said: The people who thought this anime was poor must either not be very well versed in the history of Europe, or they just don't find history/political/religious struggles interesting. There are a lot of underlying themes to this anime that people cannot understand right off the bat, if they do not know or appreciate basis for a lot of the storyline. Just because you think people aren't "well-versed" in European or any world history doesn't automatically mean they don't "get" it. The show certainly had that as a basis and the beginning had potential, and that's great. But like I've said, the execution was sub-par at best, and I felt the show kind of lost direction somewhere in the middle. Shame they only did 12 episodes (which I still don't understand why you would adapt a novel with only that much), because this could've been well-thought out and expanded as a 2 cour or more. |

This might be a SHOCK for you, but that's called having a different opinion/taste in Anime! :-O As for myself, I'd agree that this was the worst Anime this season while I rated GJ-bu and Tamako Market, which I also watched both, higher. Why, you might ask? Because I LIKED them better! This Anime was just too much talking about (in my opinion I want to stress again!) boring stuff. They could have executed the whole story much better! Bottom line of all this: Just please respect other people opinions even if it differs from yours. That would be nice. |

| Wow, kuudere female mage talking in multiple personalities, to me, which revealed that there were three mages inside her. lol @ the same conversation from first ep., but in different atmosphere. He finally got that evil thing out of Maou. A lot of new things happening while Yuusha is with Maou, including female mage's request. Ending the series with Maou returning and new beginning. Hoping for 2nd season or it's just open ending. |

| I wanted to love this anime, since I really liked the characters, but it failed at almost everything I was looking for. Very disappointing, cliffhanger ending, no real relationship/romantic development and I wished the hero would have some fighting scenes, when he uses magic it is over the top awesome! |

| I confess the beginning was really good, but after a while it took another direction, this anime could have been better for sure. I guess the end was a bit rushed. Also, after all this time, Yuusha feelings were clear for me, I don't know why there was not even a kiss. 7/10 here. |

| Good, I'm not the only one who thought it was a snorefest. 5/10, only because I feel unfair rating it lower seeing as I hardly even watched it. I just opened up my media player a few times when I thought something interesting was happening. Spice and Wolf season three when? |

| I really liked the story, characters, and overall style of the anime. However, it suffered from a lack of focus and jumped around too much. 8/10 I'd like to see a second season, but I won't hold my breath. |

| Honestly, I thought it was great, but these last two episodes had the worst pacing I have ever seen. They felt they were rushed at ludicrous speed. In the end I enjoyed it and would welcome a second season. |

| The only way to answer S2 questions is to figure out how much of the LN was adapted into these 12 episodes. Half of it or all of it. I'm guessing it is more so the latter. The ending did not leave me with the impression that more of this show could be coming. It was fairly conclusive in that we know what the end goal is and it will take time to achieve it. They will suffer more of same hardships they have already faced. Idk. It was a really interesting idea that kinda feels a little washed out by the end. A lot was going on all the time. Easy to follow but a lot of different angles were being worked. I felt like "we only have 12 episodes, we need to get all this shit in there!". Interesting story so that I give it props for but it didn't really deliver across the board. 7/10. |

The main reason Maoyuu turned out bad is because of the pacing. It was laughably non-existent. Don't get me wrong, I genuinely enjoy the enriching history of medieval Europe and such, but a one cour does absolutely no justice for a show that tried touching a topic like economics amongst the other stuff you mentioned. Quite frankly the characters I remotely liked was the Young Merchant. From the few episodes he was focused on, I was very interested in what he did and it's a shame he wasn't fleshed out more as the anime progressed. That being said, it was difficult deciding what to rate Maoyuu for a while. At times like these I wish MAL had decimal ratings, but since that isn't possible I've decided to give it a high 5, low 6 in the form of a 6/10. |

| I liked this, but some of the anime recently have been giving a lot of cliff hangars.. Either way looks like a season 2 to me, that ending did not suffice one bit. But I still liked the series, 8/10. |

| Given they have barely reached Kuriltai after 1-cour, I can see why fans of the LN said it needs at least four cours to tell the whole story because they have animated just 1 volume out of the whole 5 volumes (not counting the spinoffs) ! |
| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |
