Really good manga. I even read till 4 in the morning without realizing it. Glad Emiru and Kido are still together but the ending is kind of predictable though. Hope to see more great manga from the author. |

When it was originally released ALOT of people were pissed. I think it's a testament to the author that people didn't see that coming. I could have done without her leaving but I think it fit the character and I felt the author made a persuasive argument for her leaving. It's a cliche but it fit the story. |

The ending was realy the worst... I can't believe Emiru realy did change into such a boring character.. I ALMOST SAW THAT TWIST during the bed scene back then, I thought her motives for real were something else... but NO, all my dreams about this becoming the twisted masterpiece are in ruins... A pathetic ending to an amazing series, still 10/10 for sheer enjoyment first 90 chapters or so brought, though! I did run through the series in a single day, you get the enjoyment for sure! Back when I was at 60 or so, I was thinking of insta favoriting it and 10 staring, I mean there aren't that many awesome ecchi/hentai series with amazing turnabouts, excellent writing and a story that touches your very soul! I am now happy that I didn't favorite it, even though I love hentai and ecchi, I still loved the philosophy of this manga too much to favorite it now, author just put together all the 100 chapters of sheer masterpiece in a ball and threw the mixed mass into a trash bin, revealing the remaining chapters.. At the very least, I wish there never was that 117 chapter.. That chapter 116 was like a miracle, just when I lost all hopes! A complete turnaround, the best ending the manga can possibly ever get, the infinite amount of wisdom, where emiru would be a symbol, a muse, who helped a kind and naive guy find himself in this dark world.. a ray of light, shining through the hole in the wall.. It's impossible to describe just how many ways you could interpret that ending.. But even my last, only hope was ruined by that cursed 117th chapter, nothing worse to make you sad, than finding a masterpiece gem, when you already thought you watched all anime masterpieces and was close to finishing the potential manga masterpieces, and then end up being disappointed in the end... D: I just wish someone warned me to stop reading at 116th.. And with that told, maybe someone with a fate less cruel than my own, will incidentally stumble upon this masterpiece and read this comment before finishing the series, I will warn you with all caps: IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS MASTERPIECE END PATHETICALLY SIMPLE AND HAPPY GO LUCKY LIKE 90% OF OTHER MANGA DOES, IMMEDIATELY STOP READING AT 116th CHAPTER, I MEAN IT! |

Ch116 really scared me. Then on the site I was reading this, the last chapter was called Omake. Not sure if troll or what. Read it, much happier now. Though I think the ending could probably have been a lot more... impactful? Felt kinda weak. Shoulda had one final sex scene or something. |

The pathetic thing was her trying to leave him again on chapter 116. Deal with it. At least they got back. Overall, a pretty decent series but too repetitive at times. I still enjoyed it though, so I'll give it an 8/10. |

Thank God this is over! The last 2 volumes are really bad. This manga was great in the beggining but after Kotobiki it just went downhill. The last chapters were really bad. I should have stopped reading after Kotobiki and imagine the ending myself, I'm sure it would have been more pleasant. This doesn't desserve more than a 6/10, and I'm just giving a 6 because I really enjoyed the beginning, otherwise I would drop it to a 4 or 5. |

Damn. The manga would have a better ending if it stopped at their hotel sex scene or at 116. 116 was so damn heartbreaking for me... just when they got together, they separate again in a flash, I was like "what the fuuuuuuuckk?!". Nonetheless, it was kinda lame that the author only made Emiru disappear for a few pages. He could have squeezed in a few more chapters about the lives of the characters after graduation instead of a 1 year timeskip, this could have mended the small plot holes. The last chapter was kinda -meh-. It raised a really big question: Where the hell did Emiru go and why did she leave Tatsuhiko for that long? The chapter offered good completion for some parts, but kinda demands answers for other parts. All in all, the series was a good read, 7.5/10 for me, although I rounded-off to 8. A good ecchi series with a good backstory and drama behind it. |

Just marathoned the hell out of this like the others in this thread. I agree with others that the manga definitely lost a bit of steam towards the end but it was still an awesome ride. I'm a softy for happy endings (although I appreciate ones that go against cliches... eventually) so I'm glad that Emiru came back. Miraculously, I started reading this a while after I watched the OVA. It wasn't good but I got intrigued by the concept. I heard good things about the manga and I was "curious" about starting a series like this. This was my first manga that was really ecchi/had so much sex in it so I didn't know what to expect. However, the story, romance and character development never got lost among all the eye candy. I loved the characters and I couldn't put this down until the very end. 8/10 from me. |

I really don't see the point of chapter 116 after what happens in chapter 117 o_O You either make the 116 the last one or make the 117 the "116". Combining them both is awkward. Overall, it was repetitive a lot of times and I didn't like the last 2 chapters Not sure what score should I give this, but I'm gonna stick with 8/10 because I actually managed to marathon it. loliterna said: can someone explain why Emiru disappeared for a year Because the last chapters were too good to be true, they had to add some sort of drama for ... reasons ... oh sorry, it's because she wanted to "find herself" , whatever that is suppose to mean lololo. Having a sad ending for the sake of having one is not better than a forced happy ending, the ending should simply make sense. Nozoki Ana's "ending" (chapter 116) didn't make too much sense to me but chapter 117 made things even worse by making chapter 116 completely void. |

Like most i agree that it started to lose steam towards the end and even felt dragged. I just didn't get the same feeling i got from when emiru was over kido's paralyzed body no matter how much the mangaka tried to coat it; there was no longer that sense of abnormality, that world of theirs...eh Still there is no other manga that gave me the thrills this manga gave me (in this category i mean) so it's still a solid 10/10 in my book. Absolutely loved it |

Nozoki Ana's "ending" (chapter 116) didn't make too much sense to me but chapter 117 made things even worse by making chapter 116 completely void. *sigh* Then you never read KIMI NO IRU MACHI - you want to talk about ending not making any sense, that manga is the king of endings and breakups not making any sense. One more time for the peanut gallery. Everything that happened at the end was foreshadowed in earlier chapters. We knew Emiru was going to leave Kido because she said that she felt like she had been stuck in time. That she had been emotionally stunted. Once she met Kido and Kido told her she loved her, then time began to move. But she had not grown as a person the way Kido had in their two years together. You might not like that reason but the author made that argument it was not pulled out of thin air. Emiru's return was pretty much telegraphed as well - she wanted to ask him to wait but did not want to do that thinking it was cruel. However, Kido made the promise which gave her the opportunity to return. Whether or not the one year time skip worked is debatable. For me it was fine. It fit the story. It's typical of most manga and certainly no worse than what KIMI NO IRU MACHI - which had three time skips! Perfect endings are hard. This one did a pretty good job. |

This manga was awesome got really hooked up with it. I wasn't surprised nor mad on chapter 116 cause i saw it coming ( also cause chapter 117 was out when i read 116 lol). Ending was a bit rushed but i'm satisfied with it. Finishing it in a day was a really bad idea. Overall, i loved it so 9/10. No matter how perfect the ending was, i freaking want a Nozoki Ana 2. |

Nozo x Kimi OVA brought me here. I got curious, read its manga then I wanted more which led me to check this out with it being by the same author and all. Just finished reading everything, all in one sitting and I have to say, WELL DONE. *slow clap* I didn't believe it when people told me I'll get hooked. I thought at first this is just a typical senseless H manga but...wait what is this...I actually care about the characters and it actually pulled on my heartstrings every once in a while! Chapter 116 scared me but now I'm really glad she came back and it's all happily ever after. 9/10. So good. Can't believe I read all 117 chapters in one go. That's really rare for me these days. |

The ending isn't as good as I was hoping for, and I didn't have any high expectation for it. I didn't like the 'let's continue peeking at each other for our whole life' confession/proposal/symbolism, it made me cringe. The closer I am to the ending, the lesser I care about the characters. It's kinda meh how every girl just randomly came back to the story for the author to mark a closure to them, before sending Kido off to chase after Emiru. The highest point of this manga is definitely the Kotobiki NTR arc around chapter 70. I didn't like how the art stabilizes after that, sometimes their eyes just look creepy/blackish. The story isn't quite gripping anymore. |

Man the ending for this series was such a cop out, thank god the last chapter remedied the stupid decision the mangaka made regarding Emiru leaving for a year. I mean realistically no one would ever leave for a fucking year to find themselves or whatever crappy reason the mangaka thought of. Overall the series was a pretty good read but the ending was crap. |

hpulley said: THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- The Final Chapter - Nozoki Ana (A Peephole) Kido goes into the bar. "Come on in!" "Hey, Tatsuhiko! Over here, over here! Everyone is waiting! They're upstairs already!" says Yoneyama. "Sorry I'm late. Work ran late." says Kido. "Since graduation, you haven't seen them for about a year eh?" says Yoneyama. "Wasn't I out drinking with you guys last month? Are you going senile already, Yoneyama?" asks Kido. "No, I mean everyone from class!" Throwing her arms around him and saying,"You're laaate Taaa kun! Especially bothersome to come out to the alumni meeting, ehhh?" slurs... "Makiko...!" says Kido, "...you're drunk? Drinking is not allowed." "No, she's just naturally high!" says Yoneyama. "Look at Yone's face, Ta kun! I burst out laughing!" says Makiko. "The drinks are on me because I'm in a creative company," says Yoneyama. "Just a crummy little game company!" says Makiko, "just the graphic artist really Zatsuyo kun!" "Lies!" "Ta kun, you're working for a writing tools company?" asks Makiko. "Yeah, it's desperate times for business right now! Have real design hopes but I'm not really good enough." "Ya, just being in the company for a year. At this point Makiko is very skilled. Eh?" Kido asks her, "How far along now?" "Three months," Makiko says with a smile, holding her belly. "You look happy, Makiko," says Kido. "Yeah," she says, with a smile and sticking her tongue out and adds, "Oh yeah, I've got a letter to everyone from Yuri!" Letter from Yuri: "Everyone, are you well? I am currently working in Italy rather than Hokkaido. The purpose of my work is short term study abroad. Every day is fresh and really fun. Between busy days I sit here by myself gazing out the window in my room, reminiscing about everyone back home. In the over two years we had good times, lots of fun, trying times, which I didn't appreciate but now I'm a bit lonely. Especially Tatsuhiko kun, want to talk about a lot of stuff some day when there is time. Someday want to get together with you all again, Tatsuhiko, Yoneyama, Makiko... and even Emiru, everyone together, smiling!" Everyone seems a bit shocked at the last part. Kido thanks Makiko for giving them the letter. Pouring another drink, Yoneyama says it was a happy letter and this is a great night. "Really great!" he says, tossing it back. "Would have been even better if Emiru had been here," he adds, killing the mood a bit. That's right, Kido thinks, from this day on its about a year since graduation. "Tatuhiko, we're heading out," says Yoneyama, "Yeah," adds Makiko, Kido replying, "yeah, it'll be tomorrow soon." Kido thinks, I will wait forever until I see Emiru again. "This time, drinking buddies!" "Yeah, me too, "drinking master." "Bad for Makiko though." Down the street, "Hey, Madoka, what's wrong? Let's go. Hey." "Wait." says Madoka. "People you know?" "Yeah. No problem. Bye, bye Kido kun." "Something to say to them?" "It's nothing." Kido thinks, today was the alumni meeting, something has changed, seems everyone has become somewhat of an adult, time has passed. Who would agree we are equal, relaxed, certain... Emiru said she felt like she was in a rut, ever since we made love she had been stuck. Now I am stuck... The time to meet Emiru again is not something to laugh about... The waiting year is making me desperate to make progress from where I am. "Wait one year..." The time limit for meeting was today. For every day after today, I'm afraid ... Reality may knock me down. Kido arrives home. This time for her, time has flowed too, for me it is long past blowing it off, forgetting... What if today... especially tired... "Aa....a.....a" the peephole is lit! He looks through! Kido runs down the hall to her apartment, huffing. It still says 'Ikuno' on the nameplate. He tries the door to her apartment. It is open. She is sitting on the floor, kneeling. She is modestly dressed in a skirt, jacket and blouse. "Hey... stupid..." He says with a smile. Emiru turns her head to the side. "The nameplate and... the key... were not changed eh?... The peephole is still there..." she says. "I rented two rooms in the same apartment! It's family owned and double the cost... was tough just on my meagre salary. Really just barely able to wait... you really are low..." She jumps up, puts her arm around him and kisses him. "Uh?!" he says. "I was really selfish and I'm sorry. Selfish and alone. I... had hoped to be a normal girl, but not with stylish clothes and accessories, not having my spirit affected by praise, romantic words and expressions. I didn't want to be forever searching until it hurts for another you... so Kido kun..." she says with her hand coming up. She put her fingers to her eye in her peeping gesture and asks, "wouldn't you like to 'show each other'' with me? From now on...forever?!" Kido has a happy blushing face. Emiru is happy, blushing and laughing as they hug and laugh and he says, "Gladly!" Nozoki Ana, the end. ----- Wow, what a trip. Loved it! For all that it was it ended up being, for me, one of the best adult romance stories I have read. I knew from the start I wanted them to get together so I'm glad they did. Sure was a long journey... but a fun one in the end. Note that "show each other" is a change to the "peep each other" relationship they had before with her rules. Peep each other is completely made up Japanese while "show each other" is an actual compound verb. I Didn't want this manga end, but if they keep going for it, they can ruin the story. but finally happy ending :') |

Arggghhhh I've seen this routine before but it's done okay this time. A little too much fan service for me but I think it was enjoyable ride. Somehow I CANNOT SIT WELL WITH THIS ENDING. It feels way tooooo "normal", like a "happy ending". There's too much of those, and there could be other happy endings. I think it could've ended different but it was still a very fun read. 7.5/10 but just because it was enjoyable, 8/10 |

I came to know about this manga after I stumbled upon the OVA almost a year ago. The unique premise instantly got me interested in the story, but for some reason, back then, I never got past the first couple of chapters. A year later, I decided to pick this up again and it didn't disappoint at all, ended up marathoning the entire manga in just over a day. The last time I enjoyed a romance story this much was when I started reading Spice and Wolf. And now, for the first time I know how it feels to have a void after finishing a great story. As for the ending itself, the 116th chapter had me worried, but glad she obeyed the rule and returned after a year. I don't care if it's a cliche ending. After all they've been through, they deserve a happy ending. |

Generally speaking I am not often emotionally moved by romantic mangas and animes, but this one brought me so many feels. I even cried a bit. Concerning the 116th chapter, I was so mad with it. I was really scared that she wouldn't come back but thank god she did. Their story as a couple deserved the happy ending it got 100%. |

"Why don't we start "showing each other" again? and this time,it'll continue forever!" Marriage proposal? As for this manga,it got really repetitive at times & honestly me not liking Kido nor Emiru made this kinda difficult to read 6/10. Things really went downhill after Kotobiki's arc & Madoka's arc (which was dragged out to no end when it was clear that he was going to dump her eventually). The brother arc and last 16 chapters of this were pretty bad as well. And of course the ending felt really weak imo. |

Wow. Im speechless now, mixed emotions in the end. I think Nozoki Ana is a masterpiece. The ending is good, perfectly fits Emiru and Kido. I mean the point is Kido rents Emiru's apartment because he trust her so much. Maybe Emiru used that 1 year to find herself because she was kinda confused what is the real HER. Anyway, for me, they author could produced a better ending than this. He could have just ended in 116 during their graduation or a proposal from Kido and time skip to 117 having a great kids and life. I respect his choice so I accept this kind of ending coming from him. I really enjoy the series, a lot. I rate it 10/10. |

Wow, I actually went from a 4/10 (3-4 volumes) to a 6/10 (final) rating. And let me explain why. Emiru is actually really interesting. She starts off as unlikable, bratty, annoying from the start but slowly grows into something else to the point where I was VERY INTO shipping her with the MC. They are perfect for each other. Another pairing I enjoyed was Madoka x Kido. But I didn't like how she became addicted to sex and was obsessed with Kido. This series makes women look so desperate and lusty for a boy when in reality, most girls don't even need a man. But I'm glad they broke up because the boy Madoka dated afterwards is even cuter than Kido. I'd tap that. But yeah, overall, it was actually not bad and definitely worthwhile especially for an ecchi series with no main point most of the time. |

This was so good that, now this is over... I feel empty. And I rarely feel this way after finishing a story. Like, last time I can remember was when I read Velvet Kiss (great manga too btw). What can I say? Nozoki Ana, what a great manga. Ohh the feels... the feels... <3 Read this in a flash. 10/10 Masterpiece |

I accepted it because lolporn (which is also why I wasn't bothered that all the women were so sex-starved and horny... it's just porn dude, dismiss it as a metaphor if you don't like it literally), but honestly they have nothing in common and Emiru's feelings border on crazy obsession and fixation; not really very healthy for anyone involved. That said, I still marathoned this manga twice in a row (okay it took me like a week and a half total but still). Emiru was just disturbingly similar to myself emotionally. I don't stalk people and perv on them, but the feeling of being dead/empty inside and searching desperately for something to make you feel alive... the concept that time has totally stopped for you while the world passes by... the total willingness to abandon your own attempts at human connections because you believe you just have nothing to offer... they just rang a little too true for someone like me, who has been dealing with depression for some 8 years now. Sorry if I got too dark, it's a dark manga at times! I feel like the story would have been more interesting if Emiru had kept to her character and tried to set Kido free, regardless of what he wants, rather than giving us a sappy ending. Ditch Kido totally falling for her for nebulous reasons, and maintain her as a source of romantic/sexual frustration and confusion. But I'm grateful for the happy ending; with Emiru as my self-insert I don't think my heart could have taken a more realistic ending for her. >.> |

Best smut manga I read yet, but its a pain to think there is a person living like that guy. So obedient to the extent of sacrificing sentimental things. |

One of the best seinen romances I've ever read. This manga acknowledged the weaknesses of both MCs in a way that didn't come across as distasteful. And the mangaka certainly knows how to satisfy his audience, dedicating the entire last volume solely to fan service of Kido X Emiru. Where's that Nozoki Ana: Family Edition that was promised in the omake? I need it! |

Very solid 8/10 from me. Only thing stopping me from rating this higher is the retarded MC , as well as the author who strings the readers around and enjoys giving them misery. The romance itself was good , but it's unfortunate that Kido and Emiru didn't get more chapters together after they hooked up. It made me feel as if there was a lingering feeling of doubt that still remained after finishing it especially after seeing his past girlfriends. It's also a little sad that Naruse didn't get any further mentions within the manga. Either way I am glad I read this. P.s. Why isn't this tagged as Psychological? I'm pretty sure it would classify. (Just wondering) |

That was underwhelming. I was expecting more from this manga with a great start, but along the journey I didn't realize it's a smut. |

miritar said: Wouldn't it be terrifying if the father was the teacher?? hope that would trigger a rerun. But, being how gung-ho his mother was at the beginning about him marrying.... it is possible that MC is the father. See... This is what happens when your otp is ripped mercilessly from your heart in a few pages and you don't even know what is going on anymore. |

One year? He showed nothing of what she did ... or if she watched it .. He lived waiting ... I can not imagine the anguish, despair to think about what he might be doing ... A year without the warmth of a loved one, without the smell ... I'm always sad to rush to finish a story that was going on a very good cadence .. I could have shown a bit of life of others ... And this letter girl in Europe? I thought for a moment that Emiru would lose ... In various parts of this story had my heart torn, I thought they would have a quiet life together ... but I was wrong ... |

Not as strong as an ending as I would had liked but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Yuri is such a nice girl now. And Seiji is still a cunt and a cuck. Solid story with great art to accompany it. Solid 8/10 from me. |
