I'm impressed by the presentation, I'll say that. I usually don't like the more old school designs, but everything is so smooth and fluid that I just stared in awe. The atmosphere is depressing though, not in a bad way, it just feels like you're watching the last few episodes of a series and not the first.

Overall, very pretty and interesting with lots of potential. The pacing was just a little slow for me. But most series start out that way, this show might not really pickup for another 2-3 weeks.

I don't think it was that impressive. I mean i didn't get bored and i like the animation in fight scenes. I'll keep watching, but i don't like the opening -_-
and I loved Casshern's eyes^^

Oh god, that was so old school. I loved it.
Animation was gorgeous, even though I'm generally not fond of this sort of style.

Random comparison. But the bit where Casshern was avenging that robot for Ringo reminded me so much of Monsters Inc when the little kid ends up completely terrified of what used to be their 'friend' by total accident.

I downloaded this with no expectations at all. So it certainly delivered.

I loved this episode to be honest, it was good opening to the series :]
The style, I really like it, and I love the animation. I wasn't so keen on the opening for a while but it's starting to grow on me, so I'll properly grow to love it too soon.
I can only hope that this gets better, 'cause it has potential :]

Interesting series. I didn't love the old school art style, but it was good. My first impression was Astro Boy meets Megaman with a dark theme. I just watched this out of curiosity and it has potential. Will have to wait how the story unfolds.

it wasn't too bad, yet it wasn't great either. I kinda felt that there was something wrong with the fight scenes yet i cant really put my finger on it. Well I'll see how this goes...

YES. Omg, Fall 2008 is like rockin my fuckin socks this year. I already think this series is brilliant, just as I predicted. I love madhouse studios <333

First and foremost: The animation. Oh my fuckin gawd, the animation. Amazing amazing amazing. There was SO much detail in Ringo’s feet, hand movements, and facial expressions. Not to mention the fighting scenes were extremley detailed and VERY hardcore. I love the 70’s art style with modern animation, it works together so perfectly. It looks a LOT like Cyborg 009, which is why I decided to watch this series in the first place. Might I add that Casshern is friggin SEXY. OMG, if this series keeps up, I might obsess over Casshern more than Lelouch XDDD

There are a BUNCH of questions I have that are just tempting me to see the next episode. First off, what’s the deal with Casshern’s flashy suit? Well… his flashy suit is what got me interested in this series, but I awnt to see if it has any real symbolic impact on the series. Second, who is Luna and why was it such a big deal that Casshern killed her? I really want to get more background on her so that the whole "KILL CASSHERN" thing makes deeper sense. AND THAT GIRL WITH THE PINK HAIR. Did they mention her name in the first episode o_o;;? Ah well. I really wanna know her relation with Casshern…. why she hates him and wants to kill him. Oh gawd, I also wanna know why Casshern doesn’t remember anything about himself :O~!!!

So yeah, this episode was great. The whole scene with Ringo and Casshern really touched me, it was just so kawaii!! Too bad, I highly doubt that Ringo will appear again throughout the series, but who knows :P I also want to know more about the world that Casshern is, along with the society. Makes me wonder how that’s gonna work out :P Ah gosh, I really want to see the next episode x3 ~!!!

Does not matter cause me too I did not see it. :P However I asked my friend and he said IT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL so to say the least this one is more darker and so seems this one will be better!

didn't think it was wow like many of you but still decent none the less. art was indeed impressive but not really diggin the music. the fight scenes were good but nothing amazing. no other comment on the technical aspects of it.

but i gotta say, it was very cool at the beginning there when Casshern said he would kill Luna.

Am I the only one who thinks that Ringo has a connection to Luna, or maybe even is a new Luna???? Why else would he get a random flashback when holding her, and then be told to stay away from her? Also, she got so upset when Casshern killed the robot. Am I the only one who found that adorable?

Also, I have this notion that Casshern had to kill Luna. They have some connection to each other despite the murderer/murdered connection. Why else would she be crying in the memory while Casshern was holding Ringo?

Also, I have a feeling that random girl at the end that said she would kill Casshern is a lot like him. They where both so shiny and pretty (something I think Ringo would say too...>.>...). She has to have some unknown connection to him.

Anyways, I like the dark atmosphere this gave off. That's what made me like it the most. I gave it a 5 out of 5 because of it. I think the music could be worked on. It's not really that amazing. The character I loved the most was Ringo. The other characters aren't all that interesting to me, but she makes it worth it. I hope she will still appear in it despite what some of you might think. There is just too many places her absence from the story would leave open, namely why the flashback happened while Casshern was holding her.

I can safely say I'm going to be watching this if the first episode is anything to judge by.

If you're familiar with the previous Casshern projects it's a pretty epic episode, but if you're not I can see why you weren't into it. I hope you guys give it another episode or two because it is aimed at Japan after all and there are certain assumptions made that reflect the fact.

Fight choreography was a bit too muddled for my taste, but overall it was fairly entertaining.

Enjoy the artstyle though, vaguely reminds me of Tiger Mask with the whole angular and rough yet sharpened character designs. OP was also a nice surprise, good vibes coming from that.

All too much. Vast empty landscape, a protagonist who might be a robot, general all-pervasive sense of doom and gloom - all it needs is some Radiohead out of left field and less Gatchaman-like supersuits. Re~l Meyer > Casshern any day. All of that I could let go to some extent if this was a faithful remake, but other comments suggest it's not, in which case I can't see why something so similar was allowed.

I appreciate but do not like the retcon-70sness of it, and while the animation is very good, the majority of the fight scenes just weren't satisfying at all, save the last fight with the robot that's trying to kill Pino, I mean Ringo.

I might have stuck with it if it seemed remotely like it would be original, but this looks and feels very reheated as far as storyline goes. I can already smell the familiar scent of a mystery that they are going to try to perpetuate until the end, despite it being transparent what's going on after only a few episodes. Sorry, Casshern, you had your chance and you blew it.

You should say Megaman when older but yeah a lot of people say that too but I think of more as Goldarak minus all robots in that show.

Maybe EP feels like Casshern (or vise versa) but not the kid.

And that god to seiyu who's voicing Ringo that she made her character's voice natural enough. Not like the voices of girls in other shows when women in their mid thirties are trying to sound as squeaky and cheerful as possible which results in almost catastrophic sound and makes my ears bleed.

Thoughts while watching on notepad:

Wow...this is like, pretty cool. It's like old school Japanese animation like Astroboy and Cyborg 009 that's been revamped for a new era. And really good smooth animation. Too. I don't understand this whole end of the world thing, but that's about the worst plotline you can go with in my opinion. But dang if this isn't looking cool.

"You're so pretty".
Zomg what an adorable robot loli. *_*

She's right too, he is kinda pretty.

ZOMG WHO IS THAT LEAVE HER ALONE!! LEAVE THAT LOLI ALONE RIGHT NOW!! PUT HER DOWN HER DOWN!! PUT HER DOWN!! PUT HER DOWN RIGHT NOW!! That right Casshern, you teach him a lesson. Beat his bolts out. SAVE THE LOLI! SAVE THE LOLI!!

And then loli was scared because he was a murderer.;_;

Old avatar and sig retired for now.
