The baseball scene lol.

Poor Rika, it would suck to have to live through that over and over again.

Who is she talking to exactly? o.0

I don't know but I like the season being kind of slow in the violence process.
Okay since this season is the anwser season I don't understand I mean then it doesn't have sense since they are different stories. Well anyways I liked this ep Rika doesn't want to die and that is so kawaii! Poor Rika! Satoko knows now so I hope she helps in something.

The only thing that doesn't fit with the theory that nothing is supernatural in Higurashi is that fact that there seem to be two Rikas.

This time around, I'm seeing too much Rika and Satoko. Also, the pacing is so slow! Skip the pointless baseball scenes and cut to the chase already!

Mii Nippa!

Love the baseball scene but wasn't that from a previous arc in season 1 where Satako called in Keiichi to help with the "battle" and runs in the field with a golf club? Something is connected with this arc with the previous one

I understand Rika's reluctance to ask for help; she doesn't want to hurt others. But after so many times, and knowing everyone will die and suffer anyway, I wish she would just tell people everything (like she did to Akasaka) and see how that would change the future. Idk, though, maybe she's already experimented before.

Lololol, at the end. Hinamizawa tourism. Have fun being tortured by the Sonozakis ahaha.

1. another slice of life ep. slow pace so far. was falling asleep a lil.

2. hearing rika talk to herself made things clear now. she's stuck in an endless cycle of deaths

3. well, i guess last 2 eps are suppose to be build-up eps. hopefully it'll get intense soon.

Obviously Rika has her own interests on ending the streak of deaths at Hinamizawa.
Yes, her friends must get together and face the common enemy without give up to the madness brought by that bacterious, but her life is also on the line, so it's not only for altruism.

Haven't noticed that ghost in that scene. But it would somehow explain, why Rika fell for the traps because she heard Keiichis thesis about them and went with it.

Let's see who's doing the killing spree this time, I think it's Satoko to protect Rika

This is damn mysterious. But what made me the most intrigued is the fact that the usual voice we hear from Rika was addressing to her as ''Rika''. Somehow, I don't think that she have a double personality.

On the other hand, I'm also wondering how is it that Rika hasn't turned crazy already? Who knows how much time she repeated that cycle? Maybe in this iteration, she's find something that will motivate her. That could also confirm that she has a double personality, to escape her loneliness.

She seem to deeply care about Satoko. From what I remember, they have been living together for quite a long time. They surely see each other as sisters.

Kinda getting sick of the moe shit now Higurashi.

Quit playing dumb Rika, Satoko knows you're hiding something...

So it seems like there's definitely elements of time travel and fate involved in this anime. Interesting, I hope they tell us more about how the time travel works.

I wonder who that was that Rika was talking to?

The dark atmosphere is slowly beginning to become more prevelant.

lolol "K" xD

so rika really does not want to die :( i feel so bad for her...

and i guess i mixed it up, i thought rika was the "nice voice" (the one we usually hear), and oyashiro-sama was the other one... but i guess it's the other way around. or, neither of them are oyashiro, and they're both different versions of rika...?

I for one like the change of pace here. I think we need some character depth if this is going to be a "save the fate of Hinamizawa" story. We need a bonding between all the characters. As a story writer myself, I can tell you this definitely fits with my own pacing preferences. Emotion, drama, buildup; this is key.

It's amazing how Rika can go from like 5 to 45 with a change of pitch, lol. I think it's good that Satoko found out a small bit of what's going on. Rika knows she's going to die, of course; however, she most likely kept that to herself every time the "worlds" reset. Now, it's being revealed and hopefully there will be some motion to save Hinamizawa from the disaster.

Violence later? Maybe. I like the club activities because you will remember Keiichi and the gang by the good times too, not all those killings. Ja feel?

Wait, since when was it common knowledge that Rika was Oyashiro's reincarnation? I thought that was something only the 3 great families knew? Maybe I'm just remembering wrong :/.

But yeah, it seems like Rika is still the only one who remembers anything and we're just continuing with where her story left off last season.

This season is going pretty sow compared to the last. Kind of on the line of boring and intriguing. Hopefully they're start solving more of the puzzle in the next episode.

I'm fine with slice of life and a slower pace for character building here, but what I could do without are the comedic hijnks. As a viewer, there's little point at this time to it. It's literally just filler...

patient_senses said:
I think Satoko maybe might be the murderer in this one. She'll probably start to see people differently. Everyone will appear to be a threat to Rika. Because Rika is her best friend and she'd probably do anything to protect her.

That's a good theory. I would not be surprised if that's what happens...

Really don't care for the childish and comedic tone the episode 2 and first half of episode 3 portrayed. It's off-putting given the events and tone that were the bulk of season 1.

Granted, season 1 had that garbage water gun battle arc at the end, which I also hated. And it kind of feels like season 2 is just picking up from there. Horrible directorial decision.

Anyways, the second half of this episode is good. It's darker/foreboding, more mysterious, and tied into season 1 much more than the first half of the episode (and all of episode 2, for that matter).

Again, it's just like the end of season 1, where the ending was trash, but the mysterious Rika gave you *just* enough in the final 20 seconds to make me want to come back for season 2 and find out what happened. If not for that brief clip, I wouldn't have bothered to watch season 2. And as things stand, I'm not sure I'm going to bother finishing season 2. TBD.

I want mystery and suspense, a crime thriller with supernatural elements. I don't want stupid childish scenes and poor attempts at comedy.
