It’s wild that anyone would call this anime peak or best of the season. The story has been so bland and the characters have barely any depth. The switching between 2d and 3d art styles is pretty corny, neither really look like they fit and it trashes the quality overall.

“Firm man” is attacked by the girl he saved because he wouldn’t bend over so she could put a scarf on him. Thats a stretch to say the least. She was bullied for drawing him kneeling and crying..

Dropped. I would rather have the season 3 of arcane that will never come.
@Dmoneh it's not that she attacked him because he *wouldn't* bend over for her to put a scarf onto him, it's that, because of that moment with the scarf, she realized that he *physically couldn't* bend over at all, which was the inciting thing that led to her plan to try to get his image as a hero to crumble some, so he could finally rest and bend down again. The bullying was a bit much, I will agree, but in this world the heroes are a massive existence, and she basically was drawing this heroic existence who everyone sees as a living legend as a weakling - or in her eyes, as a human, and people wouldn't listen to that possibility.
But yeah, the whole focus was the ideas of how the way people look at the heroes impacts them, and how much it changes their real lives. He couldn't physically stop standing up because everyone saw him as so indomitable and as someone who couldn't be toppled, someone who would forever hold everything up. The girl realized what was happening to him because of him not being able to bend over for the scarf, it wasn't her being mad at him as a person, that's why she was so emotional for him when she took of her mask and all that.

@Eragonnogare Im glad you can read all that in between the lines, but they did a bad job conveying any of it. You see one group civilian students and their reactions don’t really seem to waver before and after he dropped the statue. Must just be poor character design.

If you have a 3 episode rule for shows in general, then this episode should convince you well enough to keep watching this donghua.

To Be Hero X kept the quality shown in the first 2 episodes and continues the story of Nice with this. So far the animation quality has been nothing short of top notch, helped by well paced storytelling that not only developed side characters that debuted this episode but also Nice himself too.

To Be Hero X or Tu Bian Yin Xiong X is definitely one of THE anime/donghua to watch out for this year and has been nothing but an absolute delight so far.

Wow, how the public thinks you should be will even effect simple things like being able to sit. It's no wonder the original Nice ended it. The pressure must be crippling at times.

Damn so Firm man literally couldn't sleep, shit, shower or anything easily. That must've fucking suck. Damn couldn't they have given him someone to help him or something? He was a top 10 hero right? no manager either? Like get someone to pick up his soap for him, get someone to wipe his ass, and then give him sleep meds or something idk. Still this ep really showed how depending on how your power is interpreted by other people it can really suck and fuck up your life like it did with Moon. At least Firm man is finally free now. Idk if Nice/Lin Ling wants to continue on this because the more power the more fucked up your life is no wonder the og nice took his life. Being forced to be perfect and having massive ocd. Now though it might all crumble due to this new "God Eye" who's going to expose everything.

I honestly guess the saying “Heavy is the Head that Wears the crown” is gonna be a consistent Topic in this show ngl. That can be said about Nice and Firm man or MISTER STANDO🧍‍♂️

I’m also surprised that Before Li Ling became nice he had some OCD and constantly strived for Perfection. Not to mention MISTER STANDO🧍‍♂️had the same troubles when he was being a hero because he couldn’t lie down, He had to constantly be standing and it took a toll on him. Quite an interesting insight into Mental Health because yeah the heroes might be perfect and do their work saving lives but…They have flaws. And I have a feeling that God Eye might use Nice’s(Or Li Ling’s) Flaw against him.

I can’t wait for the fight between those 2 next episode. Iirc I think it’s gonna be Nice’s last Episode before we go to E-Soul(Aka the Black and blue armored Flash)

I'm wondering about that ending. We've had a "fake out" ending before which I'm not 100% sure is a fake out at all. The ending to this episode also feels like a potential to be reset next episode due to the high stake nature of it.

The way they dig into the human psyche of how people idolise celebreties and their detachment from seeing them human is actually insane. This episode really opens your eyes on a lot of shizz. Absolutely loved it.

Not gonna lie....
Firm-Man, with the ability to literally stand firm and hold up heavy things....was reaaaaaally lame, even after his little resurrection xD
Also the Dog-Girl and her villain backstory were whacky as hell, imo.

I think these two were the worst characters, yet, for me.

3 episodes and X nowhere to be seen... I really hope he has more than 5 minutes of screentime. I am mostly watching because of his mystery. Don't get me wrong, the series is good, it's just him was the biggest selling point in the trailers.

Another great ep

After some digging, I've realized that there are different arcs for this series (should have watched the trailers ngl). Was cool to learn about Firm Man and Wolf Girl's relationship.

Ngl, I questioned what happened to her, yet never thought it would be her as the Wolf Girl.

The way the show depicts heroes and how they grow stronger is so realistic in a sense, which makes it even more exciting.

Damn, they found Moon. Nice's trust value is definitely plummeting, but lets hope he is "strong" enough to save her and get that happy ending.

10/10

bro firm man was such a good character sad to already see him go
@Ahohite-killer Great character for sure, but can you imagine not being able to kneel/bend/lay down, and actually sit down to take a #2?!? I don't know if they mentioned exactly how many years passed, but the little girl was growing up to probably mid-teen year.. I'd guess Firm man been standing for 10 years
Respectfully ofc

Firm man whole arc in a nutshell was handled better than most DC and Marvel year long plots, this series is crazy.

I had a feeling we were not done with Moon but things are moving so fast, I'm really enjoying such a strong pace with just the right amount of calm spots to keep it away from being rushed.

That is now three heroes that wanted out more than anything. One took his own life to get out, the other got out through the current Nice and now one has been rescued by a villain. Pretty emotional moment for his initial save to come back full circle and save him. I hope she doesn't suffer too much from this, but she did blow up what I assume is one of the most popular streets in the city. Good story, but get that girl in the psych ward, lol. This series' take on Super Heroes is probably the most interesting I have watched. I'm generally not the biggest fan of Super Hero media, but this show is amazing so far.

Well, as it turns out, Moon didn't actually get out. She has now been dragged back into the spotlight. I liked Moon, so kind of bittersweet to have her back in the show. I'm guessing the public is going to find out Nice is not the original, but he will become his own Super Hero. The fact they put an emphasis on him calling out to Firm Man, "I'm actually not Nice," kind of tells me he is bothered by assuming the identity of another. So, I'm guessing that whole dilemma comes in to play here soon. Super interested to see more.

Are people actually thinking this is really good? Like holy was this ep bad.
The pacing is so fast and only the animation and art is looking good. Characters are so bland and introduced and tossed away immediately.
And wtf was that goofy ass bit with Mr Stand/Firm being literally not able to sit and showing his problems in every day life. So cringe, wth

Damn look at how Mr. Firefighter stole the jk girl heart with his stand firm and become Stand Man because of it. At the of the day, becoming a top 10 heroes going to cost everything. Tho, good to see Nice doing a nice thing and save those hero romance story, so irony. The next episode gonna be very interesting to see how Nice choose his life over his faking hero courses with another rematch against those eyeglasses nobody, ew. Shall he remain firm as a substitute of Firm Man then continue toward X? Or give up to be Nice and aim the Moon instead X?

cool episode, but i hope to see the show explore themes that lie a bit further from the corporatization of heroes.

also i have a feeling moon will die for real...

That was a clever utilisation of the power concept of the show. Wolf Girl fights Firm Man not through traditional means but through the publication of fairy tales designed to paint him as the villain. Then to find out she was actually the girl he saved was a clever (if slightly predictable) twist. It really goes to show how the true image of heroes has been corrupted through the process of corporatisation. Though Firm Man became more powerful and beloved, he lost the heart of who he was in the process. Although this was really a Firm Man episode, Nice was still able to make use of the situation to enter the top 10 of heroes. Also, now that Nice has seen two heroes step away from the spotlight it definitely is helping to shift his perspective on heroes and whether he really wants to continue down the path he is heading. Another cliffhanger at the end as expected, following on from last episode's cliffhanger. Pretty crazy to see Moon back so soon. No clue how Nice is going to come out looking favourable after this.

What stands out to me is that the creators have fashioned a world where due to the power system things like slander and defamation have a large enough real world impact that it can even justify stifling creative forms of speech.

That world has good reason to not allow free speech. They sent heroes after this non-destructive "villain" for use of a printing press. It makes for an interesting power system. But I wonder if it is saying more like about what a country or people might feel is necessary to keep peace. After all, the show itself, just as the wolf girl character within it, has the ability to plant an idea in the viewer's minds and nurture over the course of a season. Maybe we'll come out of this thinking free speech is overrated 🤣🤣🤣

Separately, it's interesting to see Lin Ling has been shown seeing more heroes exiting the hero roles than saving people. If you include OG Nice's exit, that's 3 hero exits in as many episodes. The more people are burdened by their trust value, the less they want it.

Predictable plot this episode, knew the little girl was the wolf girl and what her plan was but it was depicted really well so not complaining. Firm man felt like a discounted All might to some extent. The end of a legend and the start of a new. More hint on Nice losing himself. I think the higher he climbs the more he'll lose himself to the Nice persona but he'll break through to it and become himself again at the end or so I thought but wait that dumbass from before is back, with Moon as well and about to reveal Nice's identity? Oh damn.
