| That first shot definitely looked weird to me. I did check out the first few chapters of the manga, and in the manga that exact shot doesn't look so... charged. The "bulging vein" effect on his forehead is much more visible, so he's more obviously ticked off. I'm not sure why the anime made that less prominent. It's not a big deal at the moment, just a little distracting. |

I've kept up with the manga since it started and not once did I see anything that was "obvious shotacon"; same for the one episode we have so far. Again, you're seeing what you want to see.

I get in the scene he's supposed to be exhilarated but I feel like they did lean into giving him the kinda expression you see in sexual scenarios. the half lidded eyes, blush and smirk. that combined with the manga panel someone linked makes it even more suspect |
