I loved this anime so much. It was really lighthearted and funny at times but also had a good amount of serious scenes as well. All the characters were great especially the side ships. I am going to miss it so much

It was fine, the humor a bit too hit or miss for me to rate it anything more than a 7/10. Side characters were fun though.

I should have been 60 or even 70 years later in that final scene. Great OST with that final Jiisan and Baasan scene.

That ending was something that I was already waiting for, but that's not a bad thing. Sometimes, the comfort of the things we already expect is also good. Ngl almost cried, but it was such a refreshing end, it made me remember that, at the same time a cicle ends, another one will start. Its the endless cicle of life, and there's a nice feeling that comes from it.

I know the anime might not be that deep, but, that ending was very delicate. From the moment grandpa and grandma gave, so subtly, the farm to their granddaughter and Shota, saying goodbye in a way that was so natual, as if it was not the ending of a life, and, perhaps, it wasn't. Maybe it was the start of another story, that will continue going until a new one shows up.

This show was nice, funny, and made me remember how good it is to have our grandparents with us, even for a short period of time.

Luckily I am not that too late. I thought this would have 12th episode but seeing that their ending at 11th made me shocked. Just as seeing them die satisfied with their lives. I didn't cry but I felt it. Their story is definitely a great watch.

Seeing Shouta and Mino together at the end, then them seeing the similar fruit at the tree they cherished, proved that they lived well and lovingly even after the old couples death.

I feel that it is lacking, at the same time it is enough. Just like how I felt with some animes, like the time I watched Charlotte end. I guess maybe I am just sad that I won't see them again. This is definitely my fault, I didn't bother watching 1 ep at a time but rather binge it. So every feelings are mixed up. I am unsatisfiedly satisfied. This was definitely a great watch. I did not regret watching this.

Honestly, what a beautiful episode, but their farewell in the orchard was heart-warming and heart-warming at the same time, and seeing that after 50 years those boys were there looking after the orchard and also found the famous golden apple, man, what a beautiful anime, I'm crying so far what a beautiful ending and they saying that all the dreams and desires they had already achieved man I'm going to cry again what a magnificent anime

I never thought a Fanbox comic would ended up being so successful like this, props to the author (Same author like the tomboy osananajimi comic)

And I'm glad the rating got launched way high since I remembered it was 6.8 a couple days ago, I don't understand why people would rate this show low to begin with, it's such a meaningful, full of life lessons anime or maybe it's kids who rate this show very low.

But sure, plot might be nothing extraordinary but again, life lessons are ridiculously meaningful with this one and that alone is enough to be a 10/10.

Grown adults definitely will relate to this anime the most. Remember to be loyal and treat time with care since time is the most deadliest weapon in this universe, spend times with your loved ones and savor them for every seconds. And the fact that Shouzo and Ine left the world ahead of Ine's older sister is a strong message that nobody can predict deaths.

100/10 anime, truly an anime to remember forever.

It was funny at times, serious at times and above all, very beautiful. The ending was sad and made me cry but, it was a simple reminder of how life is. They became young again but at some point, reality catches on

It's great seeing the family all together for New Years. Especially Shiori's mom, Kaoru, whom I don't even remember if she showed up before this episode.

Grandma's sister playing karuta having a flash of clarity was a nice touch, and wanting to be praised by her mother was cute, even though she herself is grandma-aged. I know marijuana can help with some medical neurological conditions, but I now wonder if it could also help with dementia and other related issues. I'm sure anybody with family members with dementia slowly eating away the memory and other cognitive functions can relate to what the grandkids may have seen. It's those short flashes of clarity that make it worth continuing to live for, if nothing else.

I had no idea Mino's mom was a nurse in a hospital. I wonder how many members of the family are in the medical field, or going to be if we include Shiori.

It's nice to have grandma sharing her wisdom to her daughter/daughter-in-laws (or is it daughters-in-law?)/and one granddaughter-in-law.

When the grandparents went through the New Years greeting cards, it was a little morbid when they light-heartedly commented that they'd get less every year. Although that's to be expected given their circle of acquaintances at their age.

Grandma and Grandpa giving away the haramaki-wearing teddy bear might have been the first sign that they knew they didn't have long left and probably wouldn't see their great-grandchild again in the coming summer.

When the final moment came, I knew it was coming when they started to reminisce on their family and friends, but it was still bittersweet nonetheless. I didn't expect them to pass away while they were with Mino and Shouta. I expected them to pass away in their sleep. Must have been a shock to find out that way...although with how content they looked, and still in their young forms, it was clear there were no more regrets. If it were me, I'd be a little more greedy, and ask the gods, that if there was reincarnation, I'd still want to meet and be with my wife all over again.

50 years later, Mino and Shouta got together as expected and took over the apple orchard. Shouta still with his shark-teeth unchanged... Assuming in they were in their mid to late teens back then, they'd be in their 60-70s right now, younger than Mino's grandparents when they turned young again...although they look like they're in their 80s.

They find the golden apple just like their grandparents did, and decide to eat it... I'm going to assume they regularly loosened the red ribbon, or if it was elastic, because for it to grow that large without the tree engulfing it like other trees have that grew around fences or abandoned bikes; just seems impractical.

I'm also curious if they're still visiting the shrine with the local god there, where they say a flashback of Mino's grandparents.

Overall, I absolutely adored this series, loving every second of it as much as Shouzo and Ine loved one another. It may not have been everyone's cup of tea for one reason or another, but for me and many others that this series resonated with, I think it was one of the best family-orientated series in existence, as it was a full complete story, and even came full circle.

I'm now going to read the manga to see what they had to cut out. It's too bad they couldn't give us at least one more episode to given us an even 12 episodes.

Having it end like that felt like it was the end of the story and I’m glad they didn’t shy away from it. Seeing the two lose their consciousness slowly wasn’t easy but the platform was set well with the massive family reunion. I thought their bodies would revert back to their old selves in the end.

Good thing Mino-san didn’t have to see that by herself. Shouta-kun had a feeling something wasn’t right and probably would’ve realised it later too, yikes.

Golden apple spotted! Mini season 2? I wouldn’t mind, lol. Jokes aside, this was really fun to watch. Some of the segments in the middle episodes were okay but in general, the vibes of the show was on point. What a lovely couple they were.

Solid 7/10.

What a beautifully bittersweet ending for the hourglass flipping Ji-san to Ba-san. When Ji-san gave up some of his remaining lifespan to save Ba-san it apparently gave them the same death date. I'm surprised they didn't go back to looking old.

Kosuke tried for the money envelope during the NYE get together. That was funny. Akemi's side of the family confuses me. Kosuke must be her grandson. maybe?? There was an extra adult female at the gathering that I wasn't expecting.

The 50 year time skip seemed more like 70 years to me. Mino and Shota were teens, a 50 year skip wouldn't make them look that old. I know a few 65-68 year olds that would be really insulted. LOL Then again..their work is laborious.

No matter what this was my "find" of the season. It was lovely.

Glad it ended on 11 episodes. The humor and weird vibes from the first episode improved, but it was still pretty off for me. The whole focus on trying to get he kids together was just so odd to me. Like... mn... we barely even got to find out more about them and their own goals. It was just pretty much all focus on their romance. They just ended up throwing on taking over the orchard, but I didn't feel like they explored it enough to make it feel like their genuine will. Like even at the end, it's like they tacked it on solely to draw the parallel and illustrate this cycle and continuing of family and tradition. Low birthrate propaganda, yadda yadda. That was a pretty annoying aspect of the anime for me, and it was unfortunately a big part of the anime. Some okay moments as time went on, but eh. Not my cup of tea. I don't know why I bother with romance. I can't say I dislike how the anime ended, but the ride there wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped.

damn i was kinda hoping they wouldn't show them dying (so i wouldn't almost cry lol)

either way, that was a beautiful ending to a quite fun anime
we all knew it was coming (on-screen or off-screen), and specially when the party ended and oji-san started to cry, yep my heart felt heavy, but at least they died together and very happily/peacefully
interesting that the 2 kids were the ones to find them, no one else was expecting it to end that day

nice to see that the rest of the family had a good future, with Mino and Shouta continuing the job at the orchad, Shiori being a medic(?) and etc

interesting way to end with the new couple finding a new golden apple, would be fun to have an extra episode with them

was gonna give it a 7, but holy shit, this episode made me put one extra point

when i first started watching this show i thought it was a completely normal show, nothing special, bad, or unique about it
but as i watched more and more of it i realized that it was special
it has a very well written and emotional story
the characters are great characters
mino is my favorite because she is voiced by mikami shiori and is very similar to akaza akari
she makes me very happy, i hope she will get married to shota and be very happy
grandpa and grandma are also great characters and so is shiori

i think the ending could have been better if they showed mino and shotas reaction to them dying but it was a great ending

mino and shota make for some ugly old people

the only thing im disappointed about is how short it is
i would have liked a lot more episodes with these characters, but this seems to be the end of the story since the two protagonists are dead

there are 2 things im confused about
first: when grandma had a week of sand left, grandpa gave her half of his sand, so she should have outlived him by a week
second: how come turning young again didnt extend their lives even though it healed them of all of the illnesses that could have ended their lives?

this was a great show very different from what i expected
anyone who wants an emotional show or is a fan of akaza akari should watch this show

I had to brace myself before watching this since I didnt want it to end.

That was a very bittersweet end though more sweet. I wound up crying a lot over how Shouzou and Ine were so satisfied from being together and I feel envious of how nice their relationship is and they even got to die at the same time so they didnt have to be without eachother 😭 Was also sweet Mino and Shouts wound up together.

MahiaErebeaNegi said:

That is a shame especially how it is we have this off balance where Shouzou and Ine are in a good state but Ine's sister in the anime here only has brief moments she is herself and you just know she would have deteriorated even more which is a bad end for her.

What a sad but nice ending to the anime. It kind of reminded me when my grandma and grandpa died so it really hit hard for me. Although I wish we got to see a more conclusive ending for some of the other characters but in the perspective of Ine and Shouzou they would've never seen it so I guess it makes sense for the viewer to not know either.
