I haven't added this to watch list, not sure what to think of it yet. I'll give it a 3 episode test drive I suppose
Okay so here we go again with another demon lord gets defeated in beginning then reincarnates as trope, along with the impossibly-cute-girls-as-explorers raiding an underground cavern to look for maguffins trope, dressed exactly like every other teenage girl in any anime made in the past 10 years, colors and all; and then they start talking about "these things called _______ that are the enemy of humanity and showed up _______ years ago" ... so the whole thing is a bunch of very cheap worn out tropes, piled on top of each other.
Demon Lord reincarnates THIS TIME as a little boy... but apparently only to make him OP AF against the monsters but helpless in the face of pretty teenage girls. Look I'm sorry but I was a little kid once (sure was cuter than him) and didn't even notice women, much less act all 'embarrassed' around them. I didn't care. Having a staff and magical powers would have been way more on my mind.
I still give it credit for at least setting up its flimsy, totally unoriginal story for an entire episode and it definitely looks decent. Apart from the girls' animated butts were entirely CGI and CGI butts look like ass... er, well not quite- they're kind of flat and uninteresting. As was most of the dialogue, but the whole part about the one chick getting slashed and then saved by him had some emotional impact. The girls may look and act like generic moe anime automatons, but it was Leonis' feelings for them that really counted- and kudos to this episode for getting that across well. Worth another watch of episode 2.
Man, Riselia is gorgeous! And I love to hear Yui Ishikawa.
Regina is pretty cute too. The character designs of the girls are really pretty so far.
I'm gonna be honest, I wasn't sure about this one, but when I saw Studio Passione I had to give it a chance. Also, I remember reading the synopsis but I wasn't expecting the shota so I can't help but remember Mother of the Goddess' Dormitory, a show I had a lot of fun with. So far, it's been a good start, the series looks like it's going to be fun. Looking forward to some good ecchi in the next episodes.
Very good first episode! Past told. Present is Leonis' future. Riselia and Regina met Leonis. Voids told there is no way to escape 3DCG. Good ecchi, it is Passione. Rooting for characters and story development and more quality ecchi.
ecchi/fanservice fans have been getting cucked heavily as of late.. im honestly pretty scared for Slave's adaptation
and yea... considering the adapations we've gotten from Passione, wtf is this???
@EcchiGodMamster you can thank foreign streaming platforms regulation for that, and actual Japanese laws have been getting aggressively influenced by puritanical & censorous american politics in the past decade or so.

Hey guys check my profile for current airing season anime recommendation (guaranteed best taste)

Waifu material of the season bois. Really loved the art style and visuals. Those CGI monsters were kinda... ok type but who cares, we are here for waifu lol
I'm a huge fan of this light novel series and absolutely loved it! It's written by the same author who brought us 'Blade Dance,' one of the first anime I ever watched.
The story is centered around a dark lord reincarnated after 1000 years, only to discover he's been reborn as a human. He sets out to unravel the future, a world dominated by enigmatic beings known as 'void,' where magic has been replaced by an unknown force a mystery that captivates Lenios.
The adorable moments shared between Lenios and Resilea was nice to see, made even better by the beautiful character designs. Honestly, the anime adaptation had me thinking the character designs were even superior to the original light novel.
The world-building is exceptional and only gets better as the story unfolds, unveiling numerous captivating mysteries.
I'm thrilled that the adaptation is progressing smoothly, and the animation quality is top-notch.
Watched it right on the first day of release. And being a person who reads manga much (without much attention directed to the titles) I recognized the story. And the animation was Chef's Kiss in my opinion. They did an outstanding and impressive job of animating it.
About the first episode:
The story begins with an ancient war that had a significant impact on the world at the time. The Demon King, also known as The Almighty Undead King, found himself in a difficult situation as he was the last stronghold standing before the Heroes' side stood victorious. In the end, he decided to seal himself away, with the intention of being released 1000 years later. The story progresses as a group of adventurers explore his mausoleum and aid him in returning to the present era after his long slumber.
My testimony/opinion:
The animation is well done, but there are no groundbreaking effects. I like the storyline/plot otherwise. The quality of the animation is good, while not necessarily groundbreaking. However, I do appreciate the storyline. Very much to the estimation of my expectations.
"All things, be they divine or mortal, find their ultimate end.
It is not a harsh punishment, but a merciful pardon."
So this time there are different types of demon kings instead of one, interesting! It was fun to see the one demon king reincarnate into a little boy, I bet he was expecting to be a grown man lol, it seemed like he was human before but he was a skeleton at the beginning of the episode? I wonder how that happened🤔, and I don't see why he was surprised he came back 1,000 years in the future, I mean didn't he say he'll be back in 1,000 years? Selia seemed like a really nice girl to Leonis, but it was really sad that she died so quickly :(. I was intrigued that Leonis revived Seila as a vampire instead of human, does that mean she's immortal now?
A cliché storyline where the Demon Lord is reincarnated into a magical world. However, I really like the female protagonist with white hair, black stockings, suspenders, a school uniform, earrings, and a super short skirt.
Not a bad first episode, demon king gets reincarnated 1000 years in the future as a little boy. Riselia gets killed by awful looking monsters and then gets revived by the demon king. Animation seems pretty decent too, I just hope it stays that way.
That 25 mins went really quickly, I did enjoy watching this episode, and I do look forward to next week. Kinda sad that I wasn't able to obtain it early like a lot of people here did though, but I guess the wait for the official subs was worth it.
2 tropes I love 1)morally ambiguous MC [he was a hero? & then a demon lord?] and 2) millennia-old powerful creature in the body of a child. Looks very promising. Might enjoy it despite the obvious harem incoming. The art is nice; the characters look good, but the backgrounds look questionable at times. Looking forward to the rest for now.
@mazz_opique Was the first episode quite ecchi too?
@falko92 luckily not yet. Some reference to almost a glimpse of underwear at the end, but just enough to establish that the one character is a teasing sloot and the MC is shy but also arrogant. Did the source have a lot of ecchi? Why gave you the idea that it would?

Hi! It has (or had) the ecchi tag in It and Passione is pretty much known for that too
I liked this first episode but I'm also disappointed to hear that the ecchi/fanservice has been toned down.
At least the 2 girls have nice uniforms and I found it entertaining how Regina was teasing Leonis when they left the cave. The storyline seems decent enough and the city that they're going to looks kind of cool.
I was waiting for the Shary Shadow Assassin character to appear, but I only got some back shots. In fact, she's the one who attracted me to watch this anime in the first place (red-eyed black-haired girls are my weakness). The episode was quite fun, anyway, and Marina Inoue is very talented, especially with male characters.
As for the fanservice, let's hope for the best. In Passione we trust.
The idea of an ancient evil reincarnated millenia after their reign in a modern or even futuristic setting is something I've seen only in memes and short stories, so getting a full length work based on this premise is interesting. I liked this first episode, it felt as if it went by really fast. There's a lot of potential to this sort of premise, and mixing magic with science-fiction is always interesting, so it'll be fun to see what this story has in store for us.

@falko92 thanks. I'm sorry I'm not so knowledgeable about the production. I've read in the discussion that everyone expected ecchi. My friend read the LN & confirmed it had some more suggestive descriptions than the anime episode. I usually prefer adaptations to stick to the source material, but I am tired of unnecessary ecchi "fan-service" that takes away from a show as if the creators have no confidence in the plot or art so they thicken the views with bullshit ecchi. If there was some sort of romantic or sexual connection between characters & then some suggestive scenes between them because of this I'd love it. But usually, the ecchi is out of place & basically just blue-balling everyone. Thus I kind of appreciate that the show might not fall into the cheap ecchi category & hope I can actually enjoy it *fingers crossed*.
oh nice! the female character designs has ERO curves, thighs, and other ero, very alluring! hope to see more alluring females on this Gakuin realm!
4/5.
Soo....the name is still really long
From what i saw of the synopsis, the mc is 10 years old? is this a trend now or did the 10 year old mcs take over while i was away?
Anyway, on to the episode itself
aaand we begin with reading. really.
soo a 3 min intro later.
im wondering, is the mc the only one who "revived/reincarnated", orr did the others as well? hmm
a bit of a strange opening but well, first episode weirdness
since the mc is like, only 10 years old (how that works idk) well. i mean shrug
ok so. so the backstory still has to be seen but i do wonder. so basically before he was the demon king/lord he was actually a human hero before that? curious, kinda hilarious actually
dont quite know how old the other girls are right now, so uh yeah, age gap. well i mean, from a certain perspective. have to see how things get sorted out in the first few eps, or are they going to be like this the entire time? shrug
supposedly its been a thousand years, soo conspiracies and what not aside. i mean its possible the heroes might have deliberately hidden the name, or otherwise.
it would have been funny if/when someone recognizes the name.
or i mean it could just be a coincidence if/when it happens
its funny, because the mc reincarnated straight into a 10 year old body, but he's pretending, or rather everyone else assumes he has amnesia. its funny i guess, but hmm
and of course, the calender has totally changed so he has no idea the exact amount of time that has passed. isnt it hurr.
i mean not the first time and probably not the last time, although reincarnating straight into a 10 year old? shrug
also i find it funny they call them swords....but they're clearly guns.
how convenient of regina to show up though, but shrug
well thats a rather stupid but also ridiculous way to start the first ep
ok so yeah as expected selia survives, somehow, i dunno how
imagine killing off your "main character" in the first episode, amirite
cough
so its kinda funny, i was just thinking about it recently, so basically its just random magical soul weapons for each person.
interesting that riselia doesnt have one yet right now, isnt it kinda dangerous for her
Initial thoughts...the cover image shows 5 girls in total, so there's 3 more we havent seen yet.
EP 1 itself, not much really happened aside from basic introduction, I have no idea what on earth is going to happen. We got to see the first 3 main characters.
I dont see any overt issues so far, although its possible some stuff like the age gap and what not is going to be an issue. Though at the very least hopefully nothing goes wrong with the next few eps.
Its a bit of an iffy introduction so far and I'm not entirely sure how the mc is going to handle being treated like a child for the entire thing, and/or keep his sekret.
MC is voiced by inoue marina, but I havent heard her in a long time so. Probably not her first time voicing a boy
Riselia is ishikawa yui, though I definitely wouldnt have recognized her.
Regina is suzaki aya, but I wouldnt have recognized her either. I actually have high hopes for regina. The other girls too, but we'll have to see.
EDIT: Seems like other people arent nearly as optimistic as I am, but maybe they've read the source or something.
For my part I'll be honest I doubt we'll get a single iota of an explanation into the backstory stuff, who knows maybe it'll actually happen but, as long as the plot and girls work well.
Which even that isnt guaranteed. There's a total of 5 girls on the cover image and presumably its more likely than not that they'll bungle it up
Also yeah leo just conveniently has magic to get over the language barrier (heh) but uh...also you know convenient magic. Shrug.
I'm still not entirely sure how they'll handle the "10 year old boy is actually op demon lord in disguise" thing, it seems like he has an automatic barrier type of defense?
EDIT: I was actually a bit curious, but I think I got it now, leo doesnt use "seiken", so he's actually the "maken"

@LycorisLili well, personally I think it's one of those shows that actually benefit from fanservice, especially as a generic battle school harem story. It's the same type of genres as some other shows like Chivalry of a Failed Knight, Absolute Duo, Hundred etc. fall into (idk if you have watched any of these). Ecchi is part of the fun when it comes to these type of shows. Excalibur Academy is by the same author as Blade Dance of Elementalers, which was very similar genres wise and it got an anime adaptation by TNK around 10 years ago. Excalibur Academy is simply just late to the party. I'm sure a lot of people here are for waifus and fanservice anyway, cuz story wise these shows are always mediocre at best. It's supposed to be a guilty pleasure. The manga for this even has panty shots and torn off clothing right off in the first two chapters. If their plan really was to just tone down the ecchi in the anime for no reason, why even bother to give it to a studio like Passione then? It makes me really question if the production committee even know the target audience for this show. If you want something to watch just for story alone, there's a lot of actual good shows airing in this stacked fall season. Excalibur Academy was supposed to be the ecchi of the season, but ig censorship and puritanism wins again.

@Nucleus69 I've watched all the shows you mentioned & the ecchi always annoyed me. Personally, if I want guilty pleasure I watch hentai instead of tip-toeing around naughty ideas that bear no fruit. I guess to each their own. I've always been majorly disappointed when every show I want to enjoy hits me with panty shots & tits or shy non-sensical slapping of males or girls feeling each other up for no reason. I just don't see the appeal of coincidental ecchi that has nothing to do with the characters or story. But I also don't appreciate comic relief characters so that's just how I am. Faraway Paladin, SAO, Alderamin on the Sky, or Overlord for example has almost no fan service but fall in the same genre with similar vibes as shows like this. I would appreciate more ecchi in romance anime tho but there we get nearly a hand-hold or a kiss. It just feels out of place every time. I get everyone wants their fav genre to have more releases, so I'm not criticizing, just really trying to understand the appeal of ecchi. I'm wholly against censorship - curse that BS. But I'm curious how ecchi doesn't feel out of place when it is shoved into every fantasy adventure story. Any enlightening conversation welcome ^^.
nice art, good designs especially groot, healer archer & mao.
fluffy wolf!
Ruins scene bit slow paced, but Leonis & Riselia seem wholesome.
oh non isekai tensei.
The people I watched this with predicted every moment a solid 30 seconds before it happened. Also, who tries to rescue someone by emptying a magazine of anti-material rounds at their head?
Leo's reactions is hilarious. Even though he's thousands of years older than either one of those girls, still, they can make him blush like the innocent 10-yr-old he's supposed to be lol
Ainz Ooal Gown reincarnated into a shota and meets two Oneesan's, simplest way to describe it.
Does Roselia, the black-haired woman in AinzLeonis's past, and Riselia aka Selia have the same VA? Is she meant to be her descendant, her reincarnation? Who was Roselia to him? His first love? Seems his first few moments with kindhearted Riselia has made him tsundere enough to resurrect her with his magic.
Not bad. The treatment of genre conventions was rather unoriginal, but characters and story could go somewhere. A purely theoretical potential at this point. I'd rather it uses this potential than not, but seeing the overall score this anime holds my hope is rather subdued.
