Before the reveal, we see that he wasn't that weak in his normal life, was active in school activities, and he was able to dodge truck-kun with finesse. Can we please give this poor guy a break? Yeah, i dunno why people nowadays wanna see mc suddenly become op, it's unrealistic. Ittoki is realistic man with sense of justice. |

This show fucking sucks! One scene summed it up for me. The MC gets no info about anything going on, no run down on how things work and has never been trained in anything from ninjitsu to the tools they use. So when he finally gets to wear a suit he knows nothing about and asks his "childhood friend" how to use it she gives a look and just says "insufficient studying".......what the fuck are you talking about bitch! Yeah insufficient studying due to y'all being fucking retards and not teaching him anything! Apparently everyone else has gone to Ninja elementary School in Ninja Middle School and you've been trained from birth you stuck up cunt. Anyways, everyone in our group hates this stupid show and all of its glaring inconsistencies and plot holes as well as generic characters and speedrun plot. But hey at least we get to make fun of it every episode as well as have some fun raging at it, like this rant here. So far 2/10 really bad! And to quote someone else "how can an original anime be so unoriginal"! If you think this is more than a 5/10 your drinking derp juice! |

Now they are at Ninja Hogwarts. It flip flops between "oh those gymnastics and other extra-curriculars his mother set him up to do helped him be a ninja after all" (like wax on wax off in karate kid") to "he's far behind everyone else". Koga village can scare other students into avoiding Ittoki all they want; the future clan leader has got a table that's 75% girls already. What's the significance of Kousetsu's dog collar? |

Finally Ittoki goes to ninja school. As expected, he made some allies and enemies. The Koga tribe are a bunch of pompous assholes. But no figure, their central chief got killed off. So no wonder why they're so pissed off. That Ryouko girl was a true MVP. Getting Ittoki's wack ass to move with his unfit ninja suit adjustments. And then helping kirei get back to base. Without her, Ittoki would've gotten expelled from the school for being a immobile clown that he is. |

They throw the boy into school without any previous preparation... At least info-dump him the most basic knowledge! And what is Kosetsu's point exactly? She's just there to be edgy and shit on Ittoki. Like, yes girl, the boy is clueless because none of you bothered to teach him shit. I'll make a guess: the Iga clan didn't really kill the Koga clan's boss, it was someone else who did it and framed them (TsudaKen's character maybe?). If I turn to be right I'm gonna scream. |

So the story literally began with him almost getting killed by a girl who was nice to him out of nowhere and first thing he does is latch on to two girls who are being nice to him for no reason? Come on, let the guy learn the one lesson he's gotten. Or at least, like, be traumatized. Something. Also that conversation with his mom. "Why didn't you explain? It's going to lead to even more trouble." "I can't change that." That's not an answer! Telling him was exactly the thing that would change that. You have complete responsibility here. |

I like both of the new girls. Both seem genuine and nice. Also, less Kousetsu means better episode since all she does is whine and bitch about everything Ittoki does instead helping him since he's new to this ninja thing. Also, Episode 4 preview got me a little hype as it seems we MIGHT get some development between Ittoki and Kousetsu, whether it's romantic or not, idc as long as she stops acting annoyed about everything. |

seems like this show is going to be serviceable at best. It's not so horrible that I wanna drop it but it's also not that great. The family seems so ignorant for literally teaching MC nothing at all before sending him off to ninja school. They mentioned that most of these ninja have been through this type of school since at least middle school so you'd think they would teach MC literally anything before sending him off. Mask friend is so useless outside of fighting off people, don't understand why she refuses to teach MC anything when it only makes it harder for her to protect him. MC is decently likeable at least and the additional harem members are fine. I'll keep watching it but I have pretty low expectations for this one. |

this writing is seriously sub-par. frankly, if THIS is what anime original screenwriting is??? today? in the 21st Century? no wonder the anime industry is stagnating and can only do adaptations of OTHER forms of media/literature. the WHOLE SCHOOL is being bullied by one group, and wait... guess who they are? the Koga... whom his family 'supposedly' killed their big boss. and guess who their next family head is, son of the dead guy... and guess where that kid is... you guessed it, IN THE NINJA HIGH SCHOOL with our MC. plus check out the tropey trio of girls our MC has gathering/beginning/nascent harem in ep3 already: 1 childhood tsundere friend. 2 techy-gadget geek-blabbermouth-but she's still Yamato nadeshiko. 3 then you got the blond gyaru tomboy 'friend who happens to be a girl'. aka the buddy with the boobs. i'm sticking this one on hold and i'm not going to bother with it till i've got some day in the future where i've got nothing else to watch. because frankly, this show is only passing my 3 episode rule in one way... it looks good. that's it. the character designs, backgrounds, foregrounds, and animation are high quality. the writing, is not even middle of the road average storytelling. |

Can we please give this poor guy a break? no we can't give him a break, because the screenwriters are hacks for creating this dung-heap of a story to begin with. you can NOT! deal one protagonist ALL the crap cards in a deck and expect him/her to deal with that. what has this MC got? nothing. not adamn thing. nothing, and this is episode 3. gymnastics. wow, he can run and jump and tumble and suchforth. can he fight? noooo. nobody's taught him that, not a single 'laundry list of afterschool special classes' listed off in ep1 was a martial-arts class. flower arranging? who tha fudge brownies sends their SON to arrange flowers in Japan? that's a classical WOMAN's art in Japan. men do NOT do it. bonsai, gardening/sand/rock gardens, sculpture, painting, calligraphy, wood carving, those are male or equal gender art in Japan. Kamijou has the worst luck on the planet... A Certain ___ franchise... but he still kicks ass because the SOURCE of that craptastical life history can trump any superpower around. To Love Ru, Ritto Yuki... man ends up face first in random tits, butts, crotches, yoinking skirts and pants and panties off girls... entirely... utterly... beyond his control... God itself makes this poor guy the 'butt and boob and bush' joke of the universe. kid still ends up with a gorgeous alien girlfriend, one of that one's little sisters is going for him too, he's got other alien and human ladies who are friendly or romantically leaning towards him, he's got guy friends, he defeats his future father-in-law a galaxy class emperor, his human lady-crush is ... ok... if the manga's (i forget which one) writer or artist's wife didn't leave him, take their daughter, spend too much money, sleep around with other guys, and force the mangaka to hire private investigators and track his future ex-wife down (along with the cops) and ruin their somewhat happy family life... if the mangaka hadn't based the human GF off his wife, maybe she could have a better part in the manga... yeah, Ritto Yuki's 'life' sucks, his human crush gets entirely sidelined from the manga because of a trashy ex-wife. there are other protagonists who 'get the short end of the stick'. this kid Ittoki? he got 'the short end of the whole damn tree!' THAT is what i call craptastical writing. |

Midoriya and AllMight. because the protagonist doesn't know his left foot from a tree-stump, we as the audience learn everything as the protagonist learns it. the problem with Ittoki in that 'framework'... of storytelling? who's his bleeping Merlin? where's his mentor? teacher? hero? guiding light? where or what is this kid's purpose? his MOTHER didn't give it to him. in lieu of the father, who was guiding this kid through his first 14 years? a handfull of grocery-store employees who worked with his mother? all of those tutors for those useless after-school classes? this is episode 3. there isn't even a map TO the region where the mentor character can be found. Midoriya had an obsessive interest in studying everything heroic about the world. Wart, had Merlin... the best teacher a future knight could have... Kay his older foster-brother stays with him and even joins The Round Table in some stories. Jack had the Singing Harp. but what does Ittoki have? three chicks. a techy gadget girl, Q (James Bond) with boobs. a blond tomboy gyaru and socially observant coward. his tsundere childhood friend. that's what he has. 2 female friends and a 'frienemy'. i'm not looking for instantaneous development. i'm not looking for god itself to come down from on high and anoint Ittoki's head with oils and proclaim him OP MC... "if you need me boy just leave a message at the burning bush and i'll get right back to you!" this kid is a well-washed blackboard. totally blank. there is nothing there. nothing. i was looking for a seed. a sprout. a base to grow from. dirt even. a rock. a ceramic pot. something to start this story from with some form of understandable 'here we are'. the very baseline premise of this show, blew my immersion to smithereens within the 1st episode. the 2nd episode, didn't reinforce my immersion. it screwed it up even worse. now, episode 3? nope. there is zero immersion from minute 1 till the last second of the EP and end credits. i'm just sitting here going to myself in my head, ticking off , 'worse storypoint'. 'worser storypoint.' 'holy crap pile on the junk storytelling some more?' 'OMFG i gotta stop this episode and clear my head, this sucks hot sweaty donkey bawls' then i took a 5 minute break, refilled my coffee cup, and sat down infront of my PC and restarted the episode where i left off. and was totally underwhelmed throughout the rest of the episode. the only thing i truly can say that is good about these first 3 episodes? they look great! the art is great! the animation is great! the character designs are complex and artfully and professionally done. the backgrounds and tech and foregrounds and vehicles are high quality animation. if all of that was also matched to some decent writing? i would like this show alot. |

This episode is so frustrating to me. Ittoki was just....... a damn dumb & being made as a clown. His family is to be blamed for keeping him in the dark about the ninja business but at least they should taught him about the ninja suits. Other students have been familiarized with the suits in middle school. Ittoki was being made like an ignorant clown for the sake of introducing the tech-nerd chick. And the worst part of Ittoki's action in this episode was to help the blond chick after stealing her stolen manju bun back WITHOUT picking his own manju bun first although the goal was just so near. At the end, he failed to get his manju bun after the principal ate the last one. That was the last straw for me. I can accept a weak mc (which will get stronger as the season goes on) but not this too dumb mc. Welp. Might as well drop this show. Episode 1 & 2 was ok to me but episode 3 really tick me off. |

A lot of people shitting on this series and the characters yet still will watch it continually. Makes no sense. Yeah this show is bad and frustrating but I'm mainly just watching it now because I'm okay with Ittoki as a character. He keeps getting the shit end of the stick and just keeps moving forward. While Kousetsu is not helping him I find her to be really interesting. Mainly for two reasons; 1. It's almost PAINFULLY obvious she's the village traitor. I really hope that is not the case but I am about 95% sure she is. Mainly because she's not helping Ittoki at all. 2. I wanna know whats behind the mask. Like yeah she could be hot but it's the unknown that has my interest. Is she scarred? Burned? UGLY? I gotta know. It's like Kakashi all over again. |

A few things. 1) The Koga ninja are annoying and petty as hell. 2) I know he knows nothing about the ninja world, but why would you stop in the middle of the road when someone is running towards you. 3) The MC may be slightly annoying, but i've seen worse. 4) Of course the MC is gonna be clueless and asking all of these questions, he had no knowledge of this world until a few weeks (days?) ago, and his mother and village gave him no information on what to expect, and no ninja training. If it's the whole "he needs to figure it out" spiel, then they're just setting him up for failure, as everyone else at that school has been doing this since at least middle school, and probably since they were kids. 5) Kousetsu is cute, but annoying. |

Gave the series a 3-episode try but it's honestly got some pretty bad writing with unreasonable character reactions to MC. Like, they treat him like an idiot, who doesn't know anything because - SURPRISE! He doesn't know anything. No one bothered to teach him. Even after he found out he was lied to for the bulk of his life, no one bothered to give him any basic understanding of this so-called Ninja society. He learned nothing about the other villages, the fact that his own village was being accused of having murdered the head of another village, and yet they treat him as if he should already know all of this. If you want to ensure your clan dies out, this is how you do it - Leave your next heir to be absolutely in the dark about their role, the structure of their organization, and pretty much void of any beneficial knowledge that may help increase their odds of survival. And before anyone's like, "it's just an anime" - Does that mean all anime are allowed to have bad writing? If so, you deserve to only experience bad things, in life. |

I think the show has a good plot but the execution of it is totally unplanned! What is going on in this school?! Why in the what what would they randomly just shove the ninja suit in new comers' faces and make IT the start of their training? Why is the MC THE ONLY one who isn't a trained ninja! Everyone looks like they have been through the school before! And the ninja exam was so ridiculous! Ah let's focus on episode 3 for now. Anyways, I feel really disappointed since I thought this would be a cool 20th century ninjas show... but they totally ruined the whole thing... the pacing is really everywhere that even the harem felt awkward --" why would the two girls just BLURT it out that he's nice or whatever with a smitten face? I really hope things get better.. cuz the fighting is average and the characters aren't that interesting ..I'm not sure for what I'm still watching.. |

Tbh the show lost steam incredibly fast, it's only ep 3 and it's already beyond generic and boring. Yes yes! I totally forgot to talk about that point! I was having high hopes for the MC's friend because she looked badazz but man she's so useless and uncharming. How is she a childhood friend if she always leave him to figure things himself or wait for other strangers to help him?! Like Unless the writer flatout was trying to get the harem going SHE should have been the one to teach him! She's the friend and the bodyguard!! |

Ok, I gotta ask: what's wrong with this show? "Slow burn" doesn't begin to describe the pace of Shinobi no Ittoki. It takes 3 episodes, 3, for the protagonist to start his training and for the most part, he gets his bullied around and fails at his first major test. If the intention was to depict Ittoki as an underdog who slowly becomes badass throughout the course of the story, then the show got off on the wrong foot. |

Yeah, I'm starting to dislike Kousetsu, since she's not helping him with stuff that he clearly needs help with, and she just ignores him and leaves him on his own. Fucking help him ffs! Some friend she is. Like, what's her problem? I'm disappointed in her character. She's not cool. She's annoying. |

Ittoki says farewell to his school friends. Travels to new school. Arrive at an island. Meets cute girl. Ryoko. Ittoki bumbs into 4 thugs. Blonde girl saves him. Kirei. They shake hands. School principal gives speech. Ittoki is confronted by the thugs from before. Ittoki arrives at the dorm. Class begins. Recieves a ninja suit. He can't move at first, but Ryoko helps him out. She teaches him about ninkaku and ninsou. Suzaku gets the manjuu firsrt, then Kousetsu. Ittoki finds Kirei who was attacked by the thugs. He finds the thug and battles. Almost loses, gets saved by the principal. |

I am on 8th episode, hoping this will get good. Total disappointment, don't waste your time. The plot is intentionally made weak to antagonize the viewers. Its no fun watching it. This show should never been green light to be an anime! Even if the studio ends season 1 on a cliffhanger, we don't want season 2! |

It feels like the show really should be giving something more than what it has by now. The ninja "suits" are a dumb gimmick and look stupid. |

I like how Ittoki actually having a cute girl friend instead on his first class. His new youthful school life unexpectedly was great there, and must be proud of it already. Though the school content still boring af with not so new shit theme around with those bully as the center of vile, and so on. Seriously bro, do something more authentic. But in general i can get a better idea of how Koga grudge hold against Iga, after this whole time. And with the holy power of friendship and good speech, Ittoki can pierce all the frozen heart and might get things work peacefully, later... So that's how this show will end! Somehow... |

A running test and Ittoki got a bad start. He made new friends, and damn the meals are so bad. |
