Last episode cliffhanger only for Uzaki's summer homework, that was dramatic, even for Uzaki's standards.

It was funny to see Sakurai drunk, saying the word Love really confused Uzaki too much. Itsuhito did a nice play there with both drunk haha.

I liked the episode and I'm glad this is getting a second season. I liked the little conversation Uzaki and Asai had when talking about how she met Sakurai. I loved how Uzaki blushed when Asai talked about how she started to talk like him, it made me laugh. I've read somewhere that's one of the things that could happen whenever two people are very close. They tend to pick up a few things from their significant other, that's what happened to my parents and some of my friends. They both have a great wingman and wingwoman on their side. I didn't know she had a brother until know. I mean, I knew she had a sister according to some people talking about, I don't think she even appeared in the anime at al."It doesn't have to be summer. We can hang out whenever. We'll always be together." The cat's reaction was my reaction when Sakurai said that.

It's not the worst anime I've ever seen. But I don't think I'll stick around for a second season. Guess I won't hang around with Uzaki-chan again.

I'm disappointed with the ending episode because it feels lacking! Hana's father still haven't an appearance.. her brother is cute though xD but knowing there's season 2.. it makes sense now and I'm excited for it!! ❤️

Yeah, especially with the tears, it was overly dramatic, and the next time the anime shows Uzaki crying, it will be harder to believe something's really wrong. I felt that cliffhanger should have been toned down, so no tears, and not even be a cliffhanger but put at the beginning of episode 12, then you get like "what the H!?" only get to wonder about it for the duration of the opening theme, and then the issue gets resolved. Like they did in another episode, where Sakurai says over the phone he needs Uzaki to be with him, and then it turns out it was for the cat café. That would have been a better use of that 'standing in the rain looking all sad' scene.

at least with Saku’s cat cafe swerve, they done it at the beginning. Uzaki’s swerve made it seem like a big deal coming, and i understand bc the season is ending, but then after waiting a week it turned out to be like “oh...ok. carry on..” alot Boy who Cried Wolf stuff going on.

Exactly. This scene with her standing in the rain, saying she could no longer hang out, would have been better at the start of episode 12, then the opening theme plays, and 1 1/2 minute later they resolve the issue by revealing what is wrong.

As it was done now feels like a cheap trick. Like next time they make her say "I'm dying..." at the end of an episiode, and then the next episode the full line reads "I'm dying... for some action" instead of something more dramatic, as the cliffhanger makes you expect.

I only watched a bit of this show after wanting to see why there was so much hating on it. After watching it--I still don't see why there's so much hating on it, but I actually quite liked it.

The ep. 11 "cliffhanger" ended with a bit of a whimper, but the episode certainly went uphill from there. The friends' meddling has interesting effects, and his rather ambiguous statement at the end (not to mention her reaction to it before she went back to the regular teasing) was a great way to cap this one off. Was glad to hear a Season 2 announced. (And I can't want to see the hissy fits over it, either...)

Yup, Uzaki antics always kept her teases as its max. Its surely easy to predict the outcome on these episode. However, the announcement of next season? Damn, that was something i can call it, a surprise!

As general, i don't see any trouble seeing their banters every week. Even though, sometime, the joke get dried up so easily, and bored me to death. However, every episode seemed to had more refreshment, and a new thing happen on its duration. Like these one, there was more past of them, at the high school. Drunken incidents at its best. And more importantly, another contribution from duo organizer, Ami, and Sakaki. I can't lied, its so refreshing. And with the upcoming season nearly, i am really hope that they keep refresh every shit about their hang out theme. Because, its really fun as hell. XD
My score on this one, based on my sole satisfaction, and a bit objective against such aspects:
Story: 7
Art, animation: 7
Character: 8
Sounds: 9
Enjoyment: 9
Overall: 8/10 from me. Because its really deserved.
Thats it.

What a great final episode, I couldn't stop laughing as well as with the rest of the season.

Cute Hana is always nice to see too <3.

Naomi Oozora did a fantastic job as Uzaki, but my best girl has to be Tsuki. I just like her design more and with Saori Hayami's voice... 11/10.

I'm going to miss this show but I'm happy that a second season has already been announced. Bring more Uzaki and Mama Uzaki!

Of course Uzaki was just messing around at the beginning. Surprised to see some people actually believing it tho.

Decent finale, I guess. Knowing how Uzaki first met Sakurai was interesting and the second half with them getting drunk had potential but of course, its conclusion wouldn't lead to something relevant, plot-wise. Ami's reactions were still quite amusing tho.

Pretty average series overall. It had some entertaining moments here and there but considering other romantic comedies with similar aspects, this adaptation fell flat in almost all categories with its uninspiring execution.

5/10 - Anyways, hope Uzaki's mama gets more screen-time in season 2.

The show is finally over. Ending was just an average Uzaki episode which is pretty weird.
Nothing to say much from this episode which was fine in itself.

It was good during the first half but the show dragged itself in the last couple of weeks which ended up on flat territories for me. I might rewatch this show if I have time this Fall or before the 2nd season airs.

I had a good time hanging out with Hana and Sakurai, not gonna lie.
But just like from a late night drink, I don't actually remember anything on what happened.

Either way this was a fine show, let's hang out next season.

Because in the manga she rarely cries, seeing her cry at the end of episode 11 did get me worried. The only other time she cried before in the anime were the clearly fake tears when she was being 'meek and mild' Uzaki, and pretended to be worried Sakurai would be working to hard, and something might happen to him. Usually when she worries about not having time to hang out, she just has a gloomy look on her face, acting like the world is ending, but no tears. In the manga, the second time I remember she cried, she was really emotional over something important, not about homework.

So that's why many went 'nani!?' about the ep 11 cliffhanger. Also because the scene wasn't in the manga, so there was no way to know 100% where it would be going. Especially with no confirmation for a second season, it could be the anime team got forced to make some drastic plot changes.

There are some great tutorials for the songs on YT, if you play keyboard/piano. I can play the easy version of the opening, but struggling with the slower but more timing sensitive ending theme.

Also learned to play the 'sad love' theme from Rent a Girlfriend.

I used to play piano but unfortunately due to lack of time I stopped practicing and eventually quit playing. But I'm glad to see you're still staying strong! I do hope you'll be able to play the timing sensitive ending theme eventually! :)

Hope this doesn't go offtopic too much, although we are still discussing Uzaki-chan anime music too. The ending I will have a go at later. Problem is there is no easy version of it, so I will have to read the tutorial in a way that my hands can play it. Sadly the arranger can't provide a midi file either, and so far hasn't responded to requests to make an easy tutorial, as he did do with the opening theme, and that I can mostly play decently enough now.

That's why I switched to practicing Centimeter, but then found the tutorial for the sad love song, and it matched my level and state of mind better. Last year has been quite sad, some bad things happening with relatives, and autumn vibe in the air also doesn't help. If you want I can send you a link in a message, there is even a 1 hour looping version that is so beautiful to listen to, at least I think so.

I also picked up fanfiction writing again, due to Uzaki-chan, 3 stories now uploaded, and even one for Rent-a-Girlfriend too. I like being creative, and maybe that is one reason I perceive an anime as Uzaki from a different point of view, not just as 'consumer' but also trying to look from the production side. The episode 11 cliffhanger imho should have been at the start of ep 12 imho, at least it would have been, if I had been the one to make the call.

I knew Uzaki-chan was trolling about not wanting to hang out with Sakurai. Uzaki was so shy back in high school, but she's still cute. She tried to get Sakurai drunk, but she ended up getting drunk herself and both of them woke up in the same futon. A perfect end to their summer break together and a decent finale that sets up Season 2.

This anime was very wholesome with a lot of references to other anime and I still don't understand why it continues to get hate.

I give the anime a 7/10.

I don't understand hating a show with fictional characters in the first place. Especially not when haters feel obliged to explain why others should hate the show. Presenting preference as reference. Just one character difference between these words, but a world of difference in impact.

Same happens even on MAL with threads about other shows. I'd say, just enjoy what you like, and others don't have the right to determine what you should like. Discussion based upon facts, fine, but some people twist hints and clues to prove they're right and the others are wrong. That's not the way to deal with each other, right?

Luckily many people are still open minded, like you, so it's not all bad.

Well, I wasn't overly impressed by this episode, but it was entertaining and it had a few good moments. I kind of felt like the Blond Friend was a bit of an ass, giving "private information" away and tucking the two into the same futon with a deliberate attempt to cause misunderstandings (at least that's what I think his "sweet dreams" comment implies). I agree that this didn't really feel like an end of season episode, but with Season 2 so quickly announced, perhaps that's fitting.

I think 'blond guy' was hoping for more than some misunderstandings. He was probably hoping for at least some sleep hugging, as he's already mentioned that he wants to create circumstances for things to progress between Sakurai and Uzaki. Like with episode 6, the melon pinata, making Uzaki control Sakurai's moves, and the 'test of courage' in the woods, hoping Uzaki would get scared and cling to her senpai for protection. That's why he gave away the info on how to get Sakurai drunk, despite him usually maintaining control in any situation.

I don't understand.
IRL I'd avoid people like Uzaki (noisy disturbing people), but I really liked the show.

I guess it was refreshing to have older students as main characters for once, without stupid harem, and no stereotypical female character using violence as the only answer to misunderstandings: this one accepts that shit happens, like a normal human being.

And even if I don't envy Sakurai (committing myself to the "single for life" lifestyle, and finding "sugoi dekai" assets repulsive), I have to admit that he didn't have it so bad in the end.

This show made me smile like an idiot all along, which almost never happens. 8/10.

On a serious(mostly)note, this has been one hell of a feel-good anime, even though I like the manga,I thought they did a damn good job animating Sakurai,Hana and all the rest, and matching voices to the characters.

It was a decent rom-com anime. There is not much of a story since it's a Slice of Life show but the characters are likeable.

However, I don't like the intrusiveness of Ami and Sakaki. Even if it's suppose to serve a comedic purpose, they create situations between the main characters which end ups making them feel awkward. I am surprised the main characters don't mind this annoyance. But personally I like it when things flow naturally without anyone's interference in their personal life because it's meaningful and deep when you realize something on your own.

Hopefully season 2 progresses the romance between the main characters in a more fluid manner.

haha.. as expected... she hasn't doin any of her summer report :D,
it was great that they use "blackout" chapter a.k.a ch.34 for the finale. Those two drunkards went to sleep side by side unconsciously. With the help one of the wingman tho, Sakaki XD.

meanwhile, another wingmans(Ami & her Dad) happily enjoyed the matter afterwards. the spinning dancing(?) while they interrogate Sakurai & Uzaki was hilarious and they seem to really enjoyed it haha...

and... the stories continues....... in season 2 !!! yeaay

The OP and ED were great and earcatching..
well i used to read the source, quite surprised and glad it did get adapted, prop to the VA and team for doing really well in it, the voice acting was really great and really fitted toward the characters themselves.

Even the side characters really amusing and funny especially their interaction when talking about these 2 doofus MC's XD.
They really represented us the watcher as the "Shippers" of Sakurai Uzaki while they also tried their best as the wingman ( Master, Ami, Sakaki) to create good moments for those two. there'll be even more interesting character supposed to be introduced later into the series from Uzaki household XD ( beside Her mom and Her younger bro OFC).

the adaptation itself has covered more than half of the currently ongoing manga chapters, as for development itself both Sakurai and Uzaki still quite same as ever. As Uzaki still being annoying to Sakurai, when actually both of them already liked each other but too embarassed to showed it. still that was quite a slow but sure progress IMO( and they seem getting closer in the recent update of manga chapter too).
I hope by the time the source reaching the sufficient amount for adaptation( i think around chapter 60++ or so) we could see these two dorks huge development in their relationship XD.... and sooner is better, 2021'll work i think XD.

well, i really enjoyed this so much, bring grin and laugh to my face every week haha... 9/10 for me :).
