Might be because all of the shows where people have a similar "see you again sometime" scenes, mostly in some long-running action-adventure series, like DB, Inuyasha, One Piece... only to realize that those episodes were actually... fillers... and no one saw the filler characters ever again. Well Zena does reunite with Satou... though if it's the anime that would be by... season 4 or 5? If it existed, that is. |

That's exactly my thought. Because of how sad, dark and kind of misleading in a sense, scene. It implied that they wouldn't meet again. At least that's how I felt watching. And they make a really good couple. While this Anime has that stupid "harem air" at least the protagonist isn't the cliche teenager busting with hormones all over the place and immature, and he doesn't see any of his "slaves" as a target. |
| Not that this series has had great animation quality so far but this episode was absolutely horrid in the animation. Otherwise this episode was as bland as ever. I mean, this whole series is bland and it's 100% watchable because there's no baggage associated with it. It's entirely nonsensical though how MC is just like "ok" after Zena pretty much confessed. |

She is the best for Satou, even more, because he doesn't see any of his slaves as a target of romance, especially because they are not even to be considered in the first place. Three of them are too young, while the younger human girl does like Satou. Two just like him as an admiration feeling and one is a homunculus, so she probably doesn't even think anything like that. While Satou isn't exactly 15~16 years old, he did regress to an young age, and the most fitting women for him is Zena. It's even better that he has an adult mindset because it makes the romance more mature. About the shrine, I don't remember exactly, but that was also another weird thing to put on that dramatic scene, but I don't think it has anything to do with Zena, and more with Satou, of why and how he got to that world. I don't exactly remember if the Manga already explained that, but I don't think it did, he just seemed to start to get interested in it so far. The Manga isn't that far ahead of the Anime. If we are talking in episodes, probably at the most around 5~10, while the Novel would be around 4 more season with 12~13 episodes. |

The voice that sounded while showing the ruins... was NOT Zena's. TBH the voice is someone mysterious enough that even for the readers of the most recent Web Novel chapters, we still don't know very much about who exactly that person is and how their relationship to Satou is. It's a long-lasting mystery of this series that needs yet to be resolved. |

| I Feel sorry for this Lich....not everyone get's perfect reincarnation life after given chance by god. well. Satou defeated this with record time....now I actaully wish this series end soon so I can finish this...Grancrest Senki might be rushed but more enjoyable than this. |

| Goddamn, what a turnaround for this series. This is turning into my favorite single-cour anime this season. The ED might be partly responsible for my love for this series, but either way, it hasn't been a complete trainwreck like I previously thought. Great writing, decent character development, and the right amount of moe (not too little, not too much). Overall, I'm genuinely impressed with how far this series has come over the course of nine episodes. Well done. 5/5 |
| Really fun episode. We got to see action and the usual harem 'action' thrown in, so I really enjoyed it. Perhaps this was the most enjoyable episode out of them all although the crying was a bit cliche... Bumped the score to a well deserved 7 from 6. Expecting similar results from the future episodes. |

| @Paul Presumably the idea was to lure the protagonist, because he wanted the protagonist to kill him. I guess he also wanted to confirm that the protagonist was worthy of this task, which seems redundant IMO (you'd already know if he was worthy after he tried to kill you, so why not just show up and attack him without all of this dungeon BS?), but heck, maybe he wanted to also pass his hot servant girls on to a new master or something. |
