Jujutsu Kaisen 2nd Season Episode 9 Discussion

it is the first time, and probably the last one i will ever post here.

i just wanna say i might be crazy but i didnt like this episode at all , specially considering how much hype there was.

I dont get how many people say this is a masterpiece in terms of animation and stuff. ive watched anime for a long time, i cant even count how many ive seen, but hundreds of them. this was really weird. last 2 episodes specially seem so out of place. choppy and confusing animation with a really toned down drawing style and lack of detail.

mannequin people didnt help at all, so weird and out of place. they didnt even seem human, it was super weird to watch.

pacing is also awful, sometimes goes really fast and sometimes stops to a crawl.

i know im gonna receive a lot of hate but the best i can describe my feelings is like this: it doesnt feel like the same series as s1. if s1 was jjk, idl what this is

I'll be honest, the reveal that Getou wasn't actually Getou, plummeted all interest I had in him as a villain. The show did a really good job of building him up over the last arcs/movies, just to drop that it's this weird brain spirit inside his body that's pulling all the strings. Now depending on what they do with it, it can still be interesting, but on a personal level, I just don't care about him as a villain anymore, so it's up to the show to prove me wrong and make him interesting. Getou and Mahito were the only interesting villains in this show (Sukuna I consider a background antagonist at the moment, not a true villain... yet.) So now I'm just left with Mahito.

So glad Gojo got sealed up, I mean, it was supper obvious it was going to happen as soon as they talked about it last season. Gojo isn't too strong for the villains, he is too strong for the author. He knew he couldn't have an insta win button just hanging around forever, and I really enjoyed the way they chose to write him out of the story, it's better than just killing him, which is cliche, and it felt believable the way they managed to capture him. Now we get to see the rest of the cast shine, knowing they don't have their trump card anymore.

My biggest hope for this season, I want to see more of Sukuna. I enjoyed season 1 tremendously, but my biggest disappointment was how little we saw of him in the back half of the show. Obviously, he is the endgame for the whole series, so not expecting anything Major plot wise with him for a while, but I still want to see him interact with Yuuji and the world a little bit more this season, then he did last season.
