Not everyone else. But the ones who dislike or hate just feel the need to make the world know they exist a lot more.

Why would Bam need a big power showing for a small time villain like Hoh, Hoh is like super weak.

I'm not saying he needed the power to defeat Hoh, I'm just saying as a story beat, I thought it would have made sense for Bam to be taken over by rage considering Rachel, the sole reason Bam is climbing to begin with, just got shanked.

Bam has been a very weak protagonist up to this point and I think this would have helped fans start to cheer for him.

But; now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think Rachel is like dying or anything from this wound? So maybe this epic rage moment that I imagined wouldn't fit here after all..
Idk just spit balling really. I still think this episode is very poorly paced though

A certain ability of his was revealed or atleast somewhat touched upon but uh..it was horribly presented in the anime, which is kind of sad. Honestly everything involving Bam in this test was incredibly dumbed down.

Binge watching this show from first to current episode, I feel relatively confused. However, I did skip a few uninteresting character development scenes, so that certainly doesn't help.

The change from a deathmatch on the first floor to the more leisurely past few tests and training session is really jarring. At least this is also somewhat conveyed by the characters, who are now reluctant to go back to killing each other. Yet because of this lengthy tone shift, the tension and stakes are lost. These recent betrayals don't have weight behind them when you forget what they are fighting for.

Speaking on the characters, I have found our MC Bam quite bland and unrelatable. He's supposed to be pretty innocent and single-minded about Rachael and friendships, but I can't find one interesting thing about him. Our MC focusing so heavily around Rachael is a problem when Rachael herself is so undeveloped. Additionally, he gets some unexplained and undeserved amount of power - which makes it even harder to relate to him. I'm hopeful he can pull a Kimetsu No Yaiba's Tanjiro character turn on me - to make his fairly "normal" character traits more endearing if not particularly exceptional. (But I'm not hopeful with 3 episodes left)

Anak, Endorsi, Khun have gotten more development so far, and I hope they continue to be expanded upon. I'd say Endorsi is the only character so far that's particularly drawn my attention. Rak and Shibisu have a place as comedic relief.

World development wise, I still have little idea what the tower is, nor the world outside. We get little tidbits suggesting the world outside the tower is harsh, through the sad backstories of our characters. The magic system is also far too undeveloped for me if they're going to base the MC's power on it.

The overall sound design is a strong point for this show, with Kevin Penkin doing music.
The art and animation are fine, the art stands out nicely from time to time - but also occasionally too bland/flat for me.

Overall, I just feel this anime is pretty darn average, but is getting a lot of hype and hate around it. I do have to say I was disappointed overall compared to the high rating of the show.

This whole scene (and episode) for Bam wasn't about rage about someone hurting Rachel, it was about him facing betrayal for the first time. He is mostly paralysed by it all. He seriously considered Hoh to be his friend and he doesn't know how to process it all.
Bam doesn't understand the value of these tests and tower climbing when people are dying and hurting each other. But at the end he stands up and decides to go on and continue the test - for the sake of Rachel, her survival and her desire to climb the tower.

With Bam's character it's all mostly psychological development and emotional maturity rather than typical shonen power ups.

I mean I agree but I don't think the anime conveyed that fact very well, atleast compared to the webtoon. Also, not sure what you mean by not having "typical shonen power ups" since ToG most definitely has typical shonen power ups.

Liked this episode. although I think alot of people are forgetting that even though an episode has pacing issues it doesn't necessarily mean its bad, Although the pacing was fast. I think most of the confusion in this episode, stemmed from how the whole hide and seek arc was presented, the environment and rules in which the test took place was never shown fully, which in turn made alot of the events feel confusing. for me at least.

Hohs character ark was really nice, had a really solid set up and a satisfying conclusion. I really liked how the episode overlapped the final fight, with Serena's reflections on Hohs life. It really reinforces the idea that there is no time to mourn within the tower, no time to reflect, you always have to fight. Playing right into the theme of the episode, Unfairness.

And also I loved how Bam didn't immediately get angry at all the betrayal, its refreshing to see (instead of getting the rage filled standard anime power up) and it makes sense. From the way Bam has been presented, it makes more sense that he would feel sad that his so called "friend" would betray him, not angry. When Rachel "betrayed" him, and left for the tower, he wasn't angry he simply just tried to be with her again.

good ep, 3.5/5.

I know it's his character but damn, Bam is such a simp!

With that out of the way, gotta say this episode got dark. Endorsi's story was tragic and horrifying at the same time. Kinda showed how there are people in real life who will remove any obstacles in order to achieve what they want, and that thought is scary.

Soundtrack is still amazing and animation is decent. So far I just wanna see how the Tower works. The only characters who have caught my interest are Khun and Endorsi, so I hope the others get some development soon.

Betrayals everywhere!

I didn't think Hoh would go so far as to kill himself. RIP

A big difference from the first team who was actually able to work together.

Endorsi outsmarting the ranker was funny. His embarrassed face was hilarious.

I kinda liked Hoh and with the way previous episodes showed more and more of his darker side I expected him to become a somewhat more relevant character in the future... but instead he just died.

Aw. I wanted to know more about Hoh's backstory and who killed his clan before he got offed with seppuku .-.

This anime's p predictable tho. Can't give it higher than a 7 unless the ending blows me out of the water. Or in this case, tower ;P heh

Bam's nice guy personality is boring me and we still don't know what's up with Rachel. She's not v likable imo :/ I'm so detached to the characters, man.

The trial for becoming a princess of Jahad can take a turn for the worse sometimes. I have always wondered how are these princesses chosen from each noble house. While I don't doubt some methods are rather tamed, others, like Endorsi's, is extremely questionable, to say the least. Most likely, her tragic actions at killing other similar children of her adopted noble house caught the interest of this Jahad. Whoever Jahad is, they sure value such brutal acts.

Another tragedy is Hoh. Despite what he attempted to do, he was a pitiful, weak man whose envy made him susceptible to manipulations. Hoh wanted strength more than anyone, strong enough not to feel despair from the horrors of his past, only to find out that he isn't adequate enough. Coming across Bam, who seems to be a natural at almost everything, set a fiery fire within him. This is very much sad. I wonder who sent the letter, though. That is another thing to look into.

I can agree with a lot of people here that this escalated quickly and felt way to much for a single episode. The story shifted to a pretty dark tone. Betrayal, jelaousy and the fact that sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do in order to achieve your goals. This was a hard lesson for Bam.

So Endorsis plan also was to betray her team and eliminate certain people. The whole thing with Hoh is so tragic. Someone definitely set him up with that letter. But didn't expect that the situation would end like that. I think the fact that Hoh's past was so sad made it even worse. Like he said himself, he lost everything and couldn't do anything about it. The question is if his decision was the right one.

Also interesting, when Rachel got stabbed that big guy besides Rak vansihed. Somewhat weird.

Endorsis "I don't get what's so great about her" towards Bam made me smirk a little bit. I somewhat can understand why he likes Rachel, but is that really enough to justify how she treatens him atm? Maybe there's something they didn't show so far between them but idk.

What I definitely liked was the fight at the end. Not only that Bam learned that technique of Quant, he and especially Endorsi were able to trick Quant and took his emblem. You really could see how pissed Quant was about that haha.

Endorsi really played her own teammates and even 'panty holder' Quant like a damn fiddle. Bros over Hohs, there goes unicorn Hoh with a pretty sad past of losing everyone he cared for.

Still a good episode, but yeah that pacing is kicking in. A lot of stuff happened this episode, but the tag test is over with Androssi pulling one on Quant to succeed with Team B winning, although it's not quite a happy situation there given Rachel was stabbed and rushed to the emergency room and Hoh, knowing that he wasn't chosen by the tower and is too weak to carry on climbing + everyone he knew before attempting the climb was murdered already, killed himself after he tried to kill Rachel, failed and got caught out really by Bam and Quant.

Androssi's quite the unforgiving person like Aguero, betraying her fellow fishermen to guarantee success. It's the easiest way to actually qualify while not dealing with the actual Ranker but in the end, won the whole thing for Team B regardless. She was really good in this episode overall, and her and Bam (who picked up Quant's techniques well when he used it for paralysing him temporarily) fighting Quant was nice too. Good action overall, just the pacing was a bit too much to uncover everything to the right degree.

Team B was such a shit ass team. Nearly zero teamplay and lots of TKing haha

It's too bad Hoh gave up too easily. But, I totally understand his position. When you have nothing left and you know you've lost, just give up and make it easy on yourself at least.

Now I truly wonder who Bam really is. I have a feeling he's someone who has climbed the tower before or someone even greater.

Just to explain Hoh was jealous of Bam because he was blessed with the ability to grow powerful to protect those he holds dear. While Hoh wasn’t blessed like him and he lost everything he holds dear. You don’t need to feel bad for Hoh you just need to understand why he did these things.

This just got turned up a notch. Much darker than the previous episodes. I'm loving it.so many things happened. Everything went by pretty fast crazy how they won with that dysfunctional team. Everyone was betraying one another and Hou even committed suicide...

Really great stuff consistently throughout this episode from the backstories to the fight animation, to the mystery of whoever wrote that letter for Hou. Someone set him up to be in this position. Can't wait to find out who...

Bam is going to keep getting hard lessons on his way to the top. He’s basically never experienced life so he’s learning the hard way. “Friends” ain’t always your friends...

"The heart moves where the heart wills."

One of my favorite line from Baam, one of the most impactful panel in the S1 webtoon, lacked that impact in the anime and was skipped over so quick. It's the same with Hatz realizing that the 2 trashy guys abandoned him when he finally got a hold of Quantz, it was one of the most heartbreaking scenes in S1 webtoon too.

Yeah lots of stuff happened in this episode with Rachel almost dying but Hoh killing himself after his betrayal. Also Endorsi pulling a clever trick on Quant so that Team B won, if Quant administers this type of test again I'm sure he won't let anyone get to close to him before he confirms he has their badge.

LOL I bet Quant throughout this whole round was like "Wtf this 'team' is literally killing each other and themselves... this wasn't in the Ranker training manual. Plz help."

Khun is so right. People prefer to be told what to do than have any agency over their lives and how they choose to conduct themselves. I thought it was interesting that they showed Khun with his head down for the entirety of the round until he heard that Bam's team actually won. I think it shows a level of nervousness that he couldn't bare to watch, but also faith and trust. I think he knew Bam would win somehow.

Sad to see Hoh go out like that. I like how Bam handled it, instead of going full roid-rage like most shounen MC's he felt a range of emotions--as anyone would--surprise, disgust, anger, shock, sadness. And he genuinely saw Hoh as a friend. I'm sure he would've welcomed Hoh back into the fold and taken care of him if he genuinely apologized.

Now the question is who planted the note outside Hoh's door? It would have to be someone very observant that was looking out for Bam's well-being at the end of the day (whoever it was probably knew that Hoh would get in trouble) which makes me think one of three people: Khun, Endorsi, and Rachel herself.
