I am Hibino Kafka!! YOU TELL EM KAFKA TALK THAT TALK🗣️💯🔥🔥🔥

Fucking phenomenal ending to a season man the animation during the fight with Shinomiya and Kafka was so fucking beautiful man just straight up a sakuga fest I loved it😫🔥

I love Mina moments man this is a show where you’ll just love every moment that she’s on the screen all bc she simply deserves happiness🥰

Not surprised that we got a season 2 in the making already I suggest y’all to read the manga it’s actaully so good if anything I think my ass might just do a re-read tbh💀

Great ending for the season. Second half of the season really reigned in the gag cutaways and the jokes felt more natural. The characters also stepped it up for the last half too. Can't wait to see how all the side characters get powered up for S2

a great cliffhanger set up for the next Kaiju No. 8 arc.
EP 11-12 pulled some of the most intense fight and animation between Kaiju Kafka and Shinonomiya's father

Preettyy solid anime to watch, though really short and a lot of loose end/ untold stories from other characters during the whole journey from ep1-12 (expecting a season 2 perhaps) to show more character development.

I feel like bro went a little too hard on the old man. Almost ruined all his chances with the pretty gal.

All in all a good anime. Nothing special but turned out better than it started.

7/10 (GOOD) for me.

it's been so long I've seen an anime this good. this actually got me excited to watch the next episode as soon as I can.
a human having kaiju power is kinda cool to me though, all the more when he's the only kaiju shifter of all daikaiju levels.
I can't wait to see next season, I hope Kafka become special weapon that humanity has to offer against kaiju.

There it is, after quite an intense battle it looks as though Kafka's life will be spared...for now.
Its crazy to think how powerful Isao is, considering he was able to 1v1 Kafka whilst he was out of control.
Seeing the relief of Mina and the rest of the teammates was also sweet, they've been through so much.

They left it on such a cliffhanger, I really wish we got more but it looks like this is the end of s1.
Going off of the first couple of episodes I wasn't sure how much I was going to enjoy it, but by the halfway point I was in.
Looking forward to the next season!

1) Seriously , this is ur finale ... no freaking damage to old dude after what he did to him . what a letdown!

2) Thought This Would Be Amusing But With Their Cringy Drama Bits In Almost Every Episode , Sure Became A Pain In Neck .

That was overall a great season, but I thought they dragged the test battle on a bit too much. It felt like Kafka was out of control for too long, you’d think they’d conclude from that he was too dangerous to let live and try to control. I know he was driven out of control by the proximity of Kaiju No. 2, but they couldn’t have known that. Still, I’ll definitely be watching the next season, I hope they don’t make us wait too long. I might have to read the manga rather than wait.

The fight was badass to watch. Kaiju no 8 can fight a lot better than Kafka can.

It's a miracle that Shinomiya decided not to execute him after seeing him go so out of control.

I'm looking forward to another season.

For now, Kafka's wacky misadventures are over and our brave hero has survived to fight another day. On paper, those would be good news, but the Defense Force has decided to keep a very close watch on him and Kafka fears he'll spend the rest of his life as a weapon. Luckily, he doesn't have to worry about that right now and he's just hsppy to be alive. The payoff to Kafka's character arc is very satisfying and we get to see that Kafka's actions has had a positive influence on the people around him.

I liked how nuanced the decision to keep Kafka alive was from the perspective of the Defense Force's leaders. Yeah, No. 8 is dangerous but if they keep him on a short leash, he could be Japan's best defense against future threats. Of course, the other nations of the world will not be happy if they learn Japan has been keeping its own pet kaiju, but that's for the politicians to bicker about. Season 2 has already been confirmed and I'm excited to see what the future holds for this amazing show.

Kaiju No 8. A great show. I really enjoyed Kafka interacting with the rest of the gang. Him becoming a officer. I think Shinomiya is a really cool character as well as some of the other officers. I'd really like to see how Kaiju No 9 ends with the next season.

Based on what I heard of manga before, I thought the show would be garbage.Thankfully it didn't turn out so. It was very entertaining action show with cool battles and designs. Main cast was so likeable. I loved the main trio of Kafka-Reno-Kikorou, all three of them are fun on their own but when they interact they are so much more. All in all cool show with a lot of heart I'd say.

Such a fun show. Some call it generic, for me it’s unpretentious and delivers oodles of fun and likeable characters in an interesting world. Perhaps it wasn’t wordy enough for some elitists? Some need 15 minutes of exposition per episode to give some a decent grade.

Unpretentious is a good word in this case. It's often for shows such as this to pretend they are something they aren't. This one knew what it was and what it wanted to be and as a result it felt very sincere and genuine. It made all the characters a lot more likable and battles and happenings more engaging.

It's got shounen written all over it, and it's walking a fine line of being so generic to the point of it being dull and boring- but thankfully I think it doesn't cross that line. The characters, its world and its premise are JUST charming and engaging enough to appeal to the average anime viewer like myself. I wish it had more meat to it, and maybe deeper character writing, but at the end of the day, I still really enjoyed it, and am looking forward for more.

Kafka is similar to many inner demon shonen protagonists like Ichigo, Naruto, Itadori, Kaneki, Eren Yeager, Allen Walker, Shinichi Izumi etc. Despite being predictable this series was really good.

Well, this turned out to be quite better than I thought it would be but even then, the shounen tropes ain't anything different but sometimes it's okay to have your usual shonen tropes on your screen to watch. Kafka is at least quite interesting to watch as mc of this show given his age but still I hate his childish personality side, so he constantly makes himself look
like a fool and the side characters aren't that much appealing to me but perhaps Hoshina is an exception because he's cool. Animation was really great so no commentary other than it.

Overall, I'll give animation 9, art style 7.75, ost/sound 8, I like good flawed characters and not bad flawed characters but it's still pretty decent so the characters I'll give 7.5, story/plot 7 and final score is 7 out of 10 + if I can I would give this show a 7.5. Decently good show to be frank + yeah, this show has nothing spectacular or even great to offer except animation and maybe my standard for anime is rising and I gotta get it under control, so that I don't end up always disliking every anime I see that overuse classic shounen tropes lmao.

"Kafka" ripping off his own torso so he could immediately throw a second punch was so metal lol. Man, gotta love how hardcore Kaiju No.8 fights.

Super predictable finale but hey, at least we got some cool action with berserk Kaiju No.8 and not to mention the delight of seeing Kikoru's father getting "ragdolled".

Overall, I would say Kaiju No.8 (Season 1) ended up being a fairly entertaining ride. Probably the most standard (among popular ones) battle shounen out there but still enjoyable because of its so unpretentious formula. Action was fun, animation as well as some key visuals were top notch and characters weren't particularly annoying (excluding Kikoru's introduction) so I would say this show accomplished its goal of keeping me hooked from beginning to end. Though it's true that everything could have been even better without the excessive comedy and 32yo Kafka constantly acting like a teenager but well. It is what it is.

I'm glad I got to binge this series. It was an epic series...

I prefer the tsundere character.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
