Must be some or of skill/equipment. You either go full-plate or full-speed, meaning she has little health. She had element of surprise over plated soldiers, and managed to make several shots first while dashing on an unprepared enemy. Machine guns and explosives ought to get her, in theory. There is M to prevent open fighting, of course.

If you have seen the original series with Gun Gale Online, you would know that Kirito was also agility-based character, using sword for close-quarters and moving quickly enough to avoid getting shot. As such Karen's character can't use heavier weaponry, hence why the P90-chan, and does not have protection layers other players would.

The hate just because of the 'SAO' tag is quite amusing.

This episode was surprisingly adequate. The end introduction of the main protagonist felt a bit awkward, though.

One can only hope that it wont administer a lethal dose of failure and disappointment. Anime of this nature can easily turn into a train wreck in seconds.

As a FPS player, i really like this to see how is gonna be this show, but i just cant like the "mechanincs" of the game, i mean, show the trajectory of your bullets?. Besides that i really like the show, and how they managed to put all the essence of a Battle Royale. I like the big guy character and how it show us the strategic part of the game, and the little girl is so cute but so annoying sometimes, i hope she will become a more interesting character as the show progress and she learns more from the game

then again it's an SAO spin-off with the same problem of the main series. If you aren't MC, you won't realize the most useful skills. It's agility again, the same thing why Kirito was so advantageous in Gun Gal back in season 2.

It seemed ok, except for basically everything about the protagonist... The world of GGO seems like it should be much more grounded in reality, yet a ridiculous pink loli protagonist is teleporting around the battlefield with super speed. Until the end she seemed like a total noob with no concept of strategy and tactics, which made me question how the sniper guy ended up with her. I would prefer a more realistic protagonist for an SAO GGO spin-off. Have her be smart and creative in order to win, rather than simply cheating with superpowers. Hopefully there will be some kind of compelling aspect to the character's personality if I stick with the show, because I think they went way too far trying to make her cutesy. Even her voice is a little annoying.

In short this is called "Escaping reality into online games". Which is supposedly the only proper idea to be presented in a conceptual spin-off. We will see how she slowly rediscovers her courage to be a functional part of reality again. And some sick combat and stuff.

It's not that bad but eh there are plenty of things I dislike already. LLENN's voice, she's called famous later on/group leader/seems to have rather strong strong character but acts like an amateur, the shooting was kinda generic except for the grenades drop and her dashing, the soundtrack during the last fight wasn't as good and fitting as the one in the forest, the suits color (pink=cute, black=badass) like the obnoxious having different hair color because otherwise you'd not tell characters apart.
I like that there's some humor (attempts) especially the one where the guy asks if there's anybody alive but too exaggerated as if they're worried I'd miss the joke.
The first person perspective is kinda neutral for now.

"M" pretty much stole the whole episode. LLEN felt like a shallow, annoying character who's only redeeming quality is her speed and acrobatics. When a side character has more character development than the main character, you know there's a problem. Let's hope next episode will actually give LLEN some character development.

Besides that, I love the strategy. It probably could've been better and more complex, but it was definitely one of the highlights of this episode.

Not really "pros" when they are pursuing an enemy and choose to stand right in the middle of a road with tons of cover surrounding them. Split into two fireteams and use the houses as cover. Duh. Anybody standing in the open like that is just asking to be gunned down.

People seem to easily forget (ignore?) that the animated series have to be paced due to broadcasting frames. As such, why am I even explaining these basics? There is a strategist, who got no development BECAUSE HE WAS MERELY PRESENTED. There is a henchman, who also had no development BECAUSE SHE WAS MERELY PRESENTED. The 24 minutes your brains seem to completely fail to fathom are limited in what they can present and show (ideas are presented, animation is shown). First episode, no development, introduction. More episodes, more development, more characters.

I am most interested in M so far. Like what is he in the real world? Does he also have the caliber of a combat pro? or is he just a hardcore gamer? He knew the Main "Bad Guys" were professionals. But someone who is a hardcore gamer when it comes to FPS could be jus as good when it comes to tactics.

I like the First Person POV from LLenn we got for a second. That was cool.

How to be Over Powered in asian FPS shooting game:
1. Use woman charcter (more slender / narrow than man)

I think "M" is average student that finds joy in such logical analysis and tactical approach to contests. He would be somewhat shorter than Karen, and in my head they are already discovering feelings for each other past the episode 11. Which would be nice, but, well. The main point is to rediscover the courage to live in reality, so...

i recommend you to watch the SAO season 2 for know the mechanism, just some of the ep (1 to 6).
If i member it, yes it show the trajectory of your enemy pointing only at you.
But trajectory is hidden for the first shot of sniper in certain engage time, so its not so disadvangeous.

Everyone seem to be hating on the series, being virtual reality firearm combat experts (so many on this site, oh my), even though they don't know the original concept and mechanics presented in previous titles. Ignorance is such a scourge.

Maybe it's just the first episode and things will change later but all I can say about this anime is it's a safe anime with unbelievable polish. It doesn't do anything badly, but it doesn't do anything that makes it in any way unique or different. It's so ridiculously standard I can't think of anything to say about it. Unbelievably average, extremely forgettable. It's better than the other SAOs, but that's because they did stuff wrong. I remembered them because their uniqueness was how much of a missed opportunity every plot point was. This is just... bland. Remarkably bland. It's so bland I can't even say it's a bad anime. I could soak 12 episodes of this in a row and feel it's mildly enjoyable then immediately forget about it 3 minutes later. It's an extremely passable way to spend time. Will continue watching until either this changes or the show ends though.

Now this was interesting. Sure, it's very unlikely we'll see the main characters of SAO but that hardly matters. This is a side story which I don't watch as often as I should but I'm enjoying this.

The op and end are amazing as well as LLENN whose name reminds me of MAGES. from the Hyperdimension franchise. Truly amazing. Looking forward to the next episode I am. :)
