| Guys question... I really like the Danganronpa series but just couldn't make time (too busy) to play SDR2 before DR3 aired so instead ended up watching LP's on youtube for the 1st, end of 5th and the whole of 6th chapter + epilogue and for the other chapters I ended up reading it up on the wiki page, do you think I'll still enjoy playing SDR2 later on even if I know all the twist?? Cause I really want to play it but don't want to end up not enjoying it. Still, when I was watching the anime today I really enjoyed it even if I just did all the things I mentioned above..Still ended up crying when I saw all of them happy and all. Especially Chiaki! If only it could stay that way forever :'( |

But, man, seeing Chiaki Nanami in the 'flesh' made me think of only one quote. Said after the Chicago Bulls blew their chance to clinch a three-peat on their homecourt in 1998 against the Utah Jazz. (Where Chiaki is the sister of Chihiro. The reason they have different last names is because their parents split when they were very young. Chihiro's father is also a programmer. So this still works. But Chiaki didn't get to see Taichi Fujisaki very often, unlike her brother.) Wouldn't that be a twist? What does this thread think of that? Could work, also maybe the reason Chiaki gets so good at games is that she constantly has to test his brothrs prorgams in games so she has a better udnerstanding of the mechanics behind the game and she gets gud at it. |

Just seeing Gundham's hamster statues made me squeal with joy xD On another note, I think it's kinda hilarious how they got all of Nagito's trademark characteristics out of the way in the few sentences he says in this episode. 1. | Damn, the OST at the start was solid. Really hyped me up. No music! No Hormones!! LMAO! Oh god. BEST GIRL CHIAKI! I preferred the first game to the 2nd, but I very very much enjoy this cast more. I know people watching Future & Despair and have no idea what's going on. It can't really be helped because you're missing information from the games that the anime will just not give you. These two anime are made for the fans. It's to give the story a close. You can't go and hate it saying "You shouldn't be forced to play the game to understand the anime" when the anime wasn't even made for people who haven't played the game to begin with. |

I played the game in English so I had no idea Mahiru was voiced by Yuu Kobayashi in Japanese. With such an all star cast maybe I should have gone and played it in Japanese... | PERFECT THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT NANAMI IS PERFECT EVERYTHING IS PERFECT Well of course I'd say that anyway since my waifu has just been animated and it makes me super happy but I genuinely think this was a perfect first episode and it gives me a supreme amount of confidence that the animators are going to write this out with care and produce something fantastic. That was hilarious and amazing, I may be presumptuous but DR2 is my favorite game of all time and I've got a strong feeling already this is going to be in my top 10 by the time it finishes. Nanami was just so incredibly adorable and the way she bumped into Hinata (omg I was fangirling so muchhhh). It's not even just that though, Chaki's character was handled beautifully but so was everyone else's. I absolutely love where they're going with this and the fact that Chiaki was actually part of there class is wonderful. I wanna type so much more because I could honestly talk about all these characters for hours but talking about Chiaki is more than enough to make me happy. Although I will say it's awesome that they introduced Hajime straight away and the way they kept foreshadowing things and revealed each member of the class' character traits was outstanding. I don't think I've ever been so hyped for an anime, I was the tiniest bit eerie before diving in but this will definitely be one of the best anime ever. |

| It sort of spontaneously occurred to me, but even in such a joyful episode such as this, you can begin to pick out certain attributes of their personality/beliefs/attitude that perhaps Junko took advantage of which caused them to fall into despair. For individual characters, and of course, the class as a whole. Of course, an event triggers it, but ultimately they are in full control of what path they choose. As high school students, you are sort of expected to accept norms, stay in school, become educated and prepare for life in "the real world". Yet each student is most likely unsure of how they will go about doing this, high school is a time of searching. Even while they are in school, and not just any school, but a highly prestigious school, they have so many expectations put on them that sort of pressures them to fulfill certain roles in society. Because they have that talent. Because they would benefit society in that aspect. Yet, even in class many of them feel they aren't obligated to go to class and have this sense of freedom to use their talents how they want. It seems to me that they are not all completely sure what purpose they want to fulfill with their talents, so that sort of vision is missing. And my guess is Junko sort of skews their perception of how the world works by basically warping their sense of reality to show how their talents can be used for "a greater purpose"...all this talk can then carry on to ignite people into destroying with the purpose of recreating. At the center of all this hatred toward how the world is and how the world works is our very own Hinata Hajime. Over many years I'm assuming he has harbored so much hatred towards the people around him and detests the way life, or society, the system, works for an "ordinary" person. Yet, Nanami sort of gets him out of his tunnel vision by saying how talents restrict who and what you can become. As someone such as Hinata, the possibilities are endless--you have the freedom to become whatever you want. This comforts Hinata, to think that his life holds some advantage, some purpose beyond always being below the "super talented". He has some hope to hold onto as he perseveres through school and tries to find his role in society. I would like to argue, however this hope was soon quickly crushed. Hope can give you something to look forward to, but reality always seems to reconstruct and destroy your hope. You can go through life wearing rose colored glasses, but that doesn't negate the fact that there are some things hidden from your view, that you can't see. Hinata can become whoever he wants to become, but it doesn't change the fact that people will always hold some advantage over you no matter what you become. It's a sort of lie society continuously reinforces that if you work hard, anyone can be successful and achieve great things. Will this ever change? Of course it can't, not since this is how society was constructed. What is taught to us to be right and "good" is actually in some sense wrong and evil. So it must be destroyed. This is just my thoughts and my interpretation of possibly what is going on in Hinata's mind. |

| Even though I'd love an anime adaptation of DR2, this could potentially be even better. Seeing the characters again but now fully animated brought back fond memories of playing the game. This episode was hilarious and Chiaki is the best! |
| It's weird seeing Yukizome not as the way she looks in the Mirai-hen arc, and also seeing Kirigiri's dad too.. But the beginning killed me when she hit her chest too hard idk why. It's also weird to see Fuyuhiko's title as "gangster" from the subtitles I'm reading instead of "yakuza" and Mikan's as "health comittee member" instead of "nurse" too, along with Ibkui's "musician" being "light music club member." Light, my ass. But Akane's (I think hers was changed a bit?) and Tanaka's is bearable. And like usual I still wanna snap off Hiyoko, Mikan, and Teruteru's neck and would love to waifu Sonia, Chiaki,and Ibuki. I especially loved how they introduced Nekomaru and Ibuki, 10/10. The first episode already made me go along with the Chiaki x Hajime and Yukizome x Manataka but.. knowing how it uh plays out in the end I'm going to avoid the shipping routes here. Other wise, a nice first introduction to the students. Now I'm just gonna watch on and watch the episodes and watch all the crap hitting the fan. |
