Agree and I really love those, especially in anime or manga, guys would look really cool/badass and girls would look really hot. I remember Shioon did that a few times in The Breaker manhwa series. I need more!

-The marching lesson was also really nostalgic since my concert band started the marching lessons in a really similar manner
-each knee eats me
-The scenery at night was pretty prominently shown off but there wasn't really a need for it
-Reina adjusting her hair made me feel things, and from Kumiko's reaction it served to put them at more agreeable terms, which is much more of a purpose than looking pretty

-The explanation of performance day prep and all the different roles of the band members was a really nice touch
-I thought Hazuki was gonna play the sousaphone in SunFes from the brief scene with her and an open sousaphone case but apparently not. Then again, it kinda makes sense since Hazuki's a complete beginner and marching while playing an instrument is pretty different from playing an instrument while sitting down.
-That Azusa girl asking the important questions, although Reina's reason for attending Kitauji is still unknown
-I actually thought it was too soon for Kumiko to confidently proclaim that she got the fresh start she was looking for. Pretty much the only things that were different from the very beginning of the first episode are the presence of Hazuki and Green sapphire and the fact that Reina and Kumiko seem to be on neutral terms now. I didn't notice any change between Kumiko and the people she knew from before high school, and the most obvious counterexample is the fact that she's still playing the euphonium.
-It kinda felt like Taki intentionally delayed his rallying speech until right before the Kitauji band was about to perform, and that he actually did have something to say to them when he arrived at the site of the SunFes. Point is, he seems to know exactly what he's doing and when to motivate the band.

The scene with Kumiko and Azusa was weird, but the show still continues to be extremely accurate in regards to the preparations for a marching performance.

Actually liked what Kitauji played in the fest. Wasn't ur traditional marching band music but rather something from a game OST.

Yellow Magic Orchestra is a three-member Japanese electronic band formed in the 70's, possibly inspired by the name of the rock band Electric Light Orchestra, who were not a traditional orchestra either. The track covered by Kitauji, RYDEEN, was not originally composed for any video game; it was first released in 1979 on this vinyl record: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid_State_Survivor

However (this is what I came here to post), it was later used in a 1982 arcade game, Super Locomotive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6ee5KzI9NA

The original recording is of course much richer than the game version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knxBPWLZTGs

Funiculì funiculà, awesome!

Anyway, did we ever understand why Saki-sensei acted that way in the beginning? I don't mind his harsh and blunt attitude, but they only started to improve when he actually took things in his hands. Wasn't the period they practiced alone only a waste of time in the end?

I didn't recognize the piece our gang played in the episode, but it was definitely a different one from the one they'd been practicing. Not all of the members were playing instruments either, so it looks like we weren't shown the sessions where they specifically practiced this piece. But this is just a minor detail, the payoff was pretty good anyways.

Perhaps an even more satisfying moment was that Kumiko stood by the fresh start she claimed for herself. Still, I gotta wonder what happened in middle school that makes her so desperate for a fresh start. Could be nothing, though.

"That seems like something you'd say." And this would be the moment where the person facing Reina inevitably falls in love. It's hard not to interpret it that way, though it can also be the moment where Kumiko sees Reina smile for the first time and with that, she realizes that the two of them might just become friends. Alternatively, the most plausible interpretation is that this is how Reina expresses that she harbors no hard feelings towards Kumiko, and the latter can take this as a sign to take it easy around her, thus opening the path for friendship between the two. At the same time, it might have been specifically directed towards the audience, as it's an awesome cut to behold, for sure.

The kids finally have their festival they’ve been training so hard for.

It looks like Kousaka and Kumiko’s relationship is improving. She’s definitely talking to Kumiko more. But what’s with her fixation on the teacher? She seems almost obsessed with him lol.

Their preformace was great. All the onlookers loved them and was surprised to see that their school was so good. All around, it was a nice episode.

Best episode so far, simply stunning stuff!

Kumiko is a genuinely fun and relatable character and we got another delightful treat of her this episode! She’s finally aware of the ‘change’ in her life and the moment of realisation to that was wonderfully handled, great stuff! God, that Kousaka and Kumiko conversation was brilliant too! And those shots of Kousaka, simply beautiful!

Take-sensei is a natural teacher and that swift encouragement sure did wonders, that was an amazing performance from the unexpected Kitauji! Props to Kousaka too for breaking the down mood. Good to see that window-loving senpai isn’t as unfriendly as I imagined she’d be, good of her to fill in with some of the backgrounds of this Club too. I’m not least bit surprised that Asuka-senpai was originally supposed to be the leader but I didn’t think she’d be so against the idea of being Vice-President too, I wonder why. I just have a feeling there’s more to her than that catches the eye. Something seems to have awoken inside Hazuki regarding Kumiko’s childhood friend lol but. I’m not really expecting much.

On another note, seriously what’s up with Take-sensei’s choice of character picture here? Looks fairly dull compared to the vividness of the others in the Characters list there, lol.

That was so great! This anime in a short period of time has made me love hearing the wind ensemble. The music is really nice and how nice and awesome it sounds gives me goosebumps inside. Their performance was really nice!

It felt so satisfying to see the people recognising that Kitauji was noteworthy. That felt so good, seeing all their hard work pay off.

Also, seeing Kumiko and Reina getting along was nice too. That was a really great smile on Reina's face. I'm not sure why Reina would choose Kitauji, but I have two theories. One is that she went there like Kumiko, to have a fresh start and not meet too many people she knew, and maybe she even preferred knowing only Kumiko who didn't seem all that hyped about getting dud gold. Maybe she even liked how Kumiko just spoke her mind like that. Or that somehow she knew Taki-sensei. If I remember correctly, Taki-sensei was playing a recording of one of the schools' performances when we were first introduced to him right? Maybe that's how they met.

Also, Reina's cool. When everyone was fussing about being put between the two good schools, she just blew her trumpet and made everyone surprised, then chill.

I'm loving this series so much.

Episode in which the greater presence of the character of Natsuki stands out, indicating that the story is evolving and becoming even more articulated, but the thing that most stimulates my curiosity, is to see how the script will be able to involve the other characters and at the same time characterize them as well; so far all this, although marginally, has succeeded very well, but it is nothing truly exceptional. Excellent drawings, animations and backgrounds are fabulous.

Things are definitely moving fast in this show ! Not that I'm complaining. It could've easily become boring if they decided to make it slower-paced.

I'm starting to get attached to Kumiko, she's such a dork ! And very relatable.
It's also nice to see more of Kousaka, even if it's step by step (though I really hope she'll soon get more screentime).
It is interesting to see how she doesn't really seem to be the typical cold girl, she's just a bit in her own world and quite eccentric.
Wonder why she suddenly had this impulse to play her trumpet out of nowhere though. She seems to be super obsessed with it, just like she's obsessed with Mister Taki...

Didn't thought they were going to do some parade, seems like Taki's running around the field training wasn't just for training their lung capacity. I like how Komiko had this comedic animation going while Asuka had this fucking mindblowing piece of art animation.

How they even animating and heck even nailing the facial expressions every single damn time Kumiko is on the screen, god. Also, for Kousaka's smiling shot... someone should just go and frame every single second of it.

Felt like the parade and stuff or the happenings in this episode were a tad rushed, but fine as things ended on a happy note. I mean the practice and sensei's nitpicking paid off, so yeah.

Also the stupidity of judgemental anime spectators never cease to amaze me.
