@WickedFM Ok cmon, you can't call every episode that's not as good as 2 last episode as slideshow, you set your standard too high, this episode is pretty good enough
@Yasamura They straight up didn't have time to animate anything between scenes, which ended with a bunch of storyboard-style hard cuts.

Glad I switched to the manga. Infinitely better than the anime right now, which is a shame since it had potential even though the writing isn't the strongest already.

No more seasoned anime. This is why shows like FMA Brotherhood and Hunter x Hunter 2011 are the top 2 anime of all time, because they don't swap through seasons and change hands with animators and directors/studios that abuse workers and deadlines so there's never a drop off in quality throughout the show's run time.

@Gabu-sama are we watching the same episode? yeah I know there's jump between frame on every blow, but it's not that bad. it's just the usual of pause-on-each-blow after or before big fight episode. in jujutsu kaisen standard it might be not the greatest but in general anime standard it's pretty good overall

Another shit looking episode. basically a slideshow
@WickedFM Try watching anything made by Studio Deen post Konosuba, that's shit looking anime. The staff working at Mappa are overworked since Chainsawman, they don't have time to make mindblowing animation so it's better to do something less fluid instead of setting the bar too high and breaking the episode. Actually, I really hope JJK breaks, the chairmen don't like what Mappa did and then switch JJK over to Deen, then maybe you'll realize how much of an effort the animators are doing in here, ffs.

Not a huge fan of this episode. I don't mind fights, but that's all we've been getting for the past 5 or 6 episodes. I want to see some plot advancement, some progress not fight scene after fight scene. I'm also not the biggest fan of the choreography of these fights. Not sure if it's MAPPA or the mangaka to blame, but in any case, the animation has been kind of choppy and jarring even.

@ChainxBastard Don't speak too loud bcuz Hunter x Hunter 2011 isn't even finished yet.

PD. The manga looks exactly like it does in the anime right now, with the exception it doesn't have any color, movement or music, so idk what are you even talking about lol

As surprising as this episode may have been with Nanami getting "oofed" in front of Itadori, and a quite worrying tease involving Nobara facing Mahito, I feel like this episode should have felt so much more intense and emotional than it did, seeing as it lost one of its impactful characters and in front of the already mentally exhausted protag at that. Not to say it was weakly executed-- It DID feel climactic enough. But personally, I don't think it came close to how surprising, emotional, and/or climactic it felt during the Junpei and Amanai situations.

Honestly, I feel the Mechamaru's death was more impactful than Nanami's death. And it's not like I cared about Mechamaru prior to this season, but his battle felt more tragic and desperate because he was a dead man walking against Mahito. I felt bad for him. Not to mention his post-death ability where he was helping Itadori made his death seem sadder.

I thought the ocean scenes ruined Nanami's last stand, and him looking like two-face kind of ruined the impact of him dying. He already looked dead prior to Mahito killing him so was I supposed to feel shock from him finally kicking the bucket? I didn't.

This episode really brought front the parallels b/w Nanami & overworked MAPPA's workers

Both are skilled and dedicated workers. Nanami is a highly skilled sorcerer who is always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done. Similarly, MAPPA's workers are known for their long hours and dedication to their craft.

Both are often under a lot of pressure. Nanami is constantly dealing with life-or-death situations, and MAPPA's workers are often under tight deadlines and high expectations.

Both are often overlooked or undervalued. Nanami is not always given the recognition he deserves for his hard work, and MAPPA's workers are often not paid fairly for their work.

Both are sometimes cynical or jaded. Nanami has seen a lot of darkness in the world, and MAPPA's workers may sometimes feel cynical or jaded due to the long hours and low pay.

Used the word "worker" since these animators & directors at this point are being treated like sweatshop workers

This episode has the worst animation till now. Why? Because animators didn't get the time. The animators love the series and you can see glimpse of it in the previous episode which is not even a finished episode. But the head of MAPPA does not care. There are some dragged out scenes and some contents in this episode should have been in the previous episode. But I won't rant anymore regarding the animation of JJK S2 as this is a show made within 6-7 months and the remaining episode will be made within days, not even a week. JJK S2 should be delayed but who knows what will happen.

I feel you... It has felt draggy for about 3-4 episodes now, but then again I am the sort that gets bored after 1.5 minutes of action. I still like many of the characters though, so I'm just looking forward to the next arc rather than dropping the show entirely

As for the animation, I am completely not immersed in the show at the moment so without the suspension of disbelief I'm noticing the flaws more. The production issues are definitely leaking into the animation, the first half and especially the first 1/3 of the episode is riddled with slow panning still frames
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

I'm starting to feel a strong fatigue with all these fights. It's a shame because I think Mahito is a very fun character to see fight in creative ways but after Sukuna and Mahoraga's fight last episode it's pretty hard to feel invested in what feel like smaller scale fights.

Also, I feel like the power curve has been peaked. I don't really care about Nobara or Nanami because I know they would've never had a chance against Sukuna after what we saw in his last fight. No matter how interesting their curse techniques could've been, they're in a story that makes them useless if they're not special grades and that kinda sucks.

@samashi20 I agree, the format has very much been "x character meets x villain, they fight", I like the fights but it's getting a bit repetitive. I had the same issue with the school event arc in season 1.

Although this episode had some emotional weight, because Nanami was my favourite character T.T

Nanamin's final moments gave off huge Aki vibes (if you know you know). Yuji's current fight isn't my favourite since, despite his creativity, Mahito can't really touch him outside of supposed psyops attacks. And even if he does catch him off-guard do we really want to see Yuji losing that way? The reason why it worked for Gojo was a very long setup and the perfect opportunity, while Mahito already revealed his cards long time ago. Yuji vs Chouso >>> this fight.

The Nanami scene was really good in terms of animation, OST and direction. But after that, it is a normal animation with a lot of bad cuts, bad animation and bad direction. It seems that time is going to be the real enemy of this season, it is a shame. It's happening again.

With the state that Nanami was in after taking heavy damage from Jogo in episode 15, I had a feeling that he was going to be killed off. Sadly, that did happen as he made his last stand a valiant effort against a hoard of enemies, while also seeing his dream of living in Malaysia being shown here and there during the fight.

Yuji arrived to see Nanami say the words "You've got it from here," before Mahito dealt the killing blow. Within seconds with the two shouting at the top of their voices, Yuji and Mahito went at it in a tough battle. The way Mahito fought was hectic and, in one attack, hilarious as he tried to "kiss" Yuji with his lips that turned into a weapon, which Yuji barely avoided. XD

The animation for the fight was to be expected, considering how crazy the last two episodes have been. It's not as bad as some haters proclaim it to be, but some scenes do look rough and unpolished. For the most part, it's good enough to make the fight look tense.

Shortly before, Mahito did split himself into two, so it makes sense that someone would go up against his clone sooner or later. Nobara is the challenger against the Mahito clone, so I really hope she's able to do well here. It'll be difficult for her, but here's hoping that this is one battle that she can win by herself.
