Is this The Anime of The Spring that I was looking for?
Yes, it is, indeed!
No cringy drama. Good action and character progress.

This is something outta Elon Musk's nightmare. AI changing the world as we know.
The concept seems cool and the characters are lovable. But mostly the visual transitioning and character detailing is top notch.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

The rescue mission was intense and whew Vivy managed to pull it off. That jump scene was absolutely beautiful. Also Vivy looked hot in sports top.

Vivy's first mission is over and Matsumoto finally trusts Vivy. Everything seemed to be going okay but then that last part happened. That was heartbreaking, I knew that Momoka was gonna die but not this way damn it.

Also the focus on Vivy's eye at the start and end scene were beautiful.

This is so good! Gave it a try because of WIT Studio but turns out to be a pleasant surprise. Underrated for sure seeing how low it's at in the list of Seasonal Anime.

Wow! this anime is amazing, I freaking love the first two episodes. And I've just realized this is also an original which is mind blowing. So it's up to our MC to save the future and it seems it'll be a challenge to do so. I'm so excited to see where this is going.

Why is this so goddamn beautiful, really starting to like the concept and especially the world. Interesting to see how Diva will be able to change the future and to witness the suffering that will happen.

why bear Matsumoto hit Diva at the end ?

In the pile of doom-and-gloom newspaper articles Matsumoto dumped on her to prove he's from the future, Diva found an article saying there will be a plane crash, and that Momoko will be on board when it happens. She decided to take action to prevent deaths of innocents (as she always does), but Matsumoto is against the idea. He says that you shouldn't mess with the past too much, and I'm guessing when Diva tried to save the people on the plane, Matsumoto had to stop her somehow. So, he ripped her arm off. Maybe a bit overkill but it worked. The plane crashed as the newspapers predicted, and the past and future remain aligned.

Thanks for this explanation. I was a bit confused there at the end.

The aesthetic and the art style(character designs) look really mediocre as of now. It's a shame because the animation itself is great.

Would compare this to PsychoPass because I think this will be similar in the sense that message/moral implications would be most prioritized here, above story/characters/art etc.

Hacking the goggles was clever.

Because his vision got hacked, at first I thought the Assemblyman himself must've been a robot or at least a cyborg, but then I noticed the glasses.
So Vivy and Matsumoto knew the Assemblyman would be wearing smart glasses and hacked them to give her the appearance of a less advanced guard AI.

The opaque goggles the terrorists were wearing were more believably hacked.

That one young terrorist unable to bear the thought that it was an AI that saved his life...

Then we get our Steins;Gate ish moment of not being able to save everyone...

I wonder if they be time travelling constantly in this series or if they used up most of the power or whatever to send Matsumoto back to the past to give Vivy her mission.

Looks like next episode we got more idol AIs

Oh man. It’s already shaping up to be the best anime of the season for me. But our bear dude is already so op it’s like he doesn’t need the diva chick at all; if anything it’s like she’s dragging him down

And how did the the assemblyman get so far ahead when running down the collapsing building? When he reached the other building, diva was still sprinting mad like usain bolt lol

Look like the themes on morality are already beginning to take form. It’s the typical “for the greater good” message but I feel like they’re going to do it right.

Okay the visual look very thrilling this time, with the additional reality that i never know its happening very soon. Rip. At least Vivy look very outstanding this time, so i don't mind that sad news.

Matsumoto being so annoying bot with all of his knowledge. The assemblyman mission actually not altered much from the history, thanks to Vivy sudden act. However, as the grand mission subjection, its successfully preventing a little touch for the future event to happened in the first place. Its a butterfly effect, i must say indeed, before reaching the actual context, i see. But too bad, its not even let Vivy to saved all the people she care. One little girl that i guess to be important in the future, get turned off quickly as a shocking effect to the story. Damn you. Matsumoto know it all along, and make it hard to Vivy to understand the whole point, especially when its come to her own living ideology. Vivy already get used to her new assignment, surely with her own way. But with that kind of situation, how come she still hold off her ground, partnering with the bratty bear?

The later episode seems a bit off to these episode situation. Moon? How come? Lets see what kind of scheme the big brain bear have at that time...

Quite better than ep1, won't drop then.
Politician quite pathetic, but good he went honest near end. Vivy likely has some effect on both him & the saved terrorist. Possible the Politician will pursue very different future.
Vivy & bear also quite funny banter. Some her lines sound just like Evergarden saying it.
Rip her first frendo. Yes bear accidentally leaked plane future news, but still very poor jarring edit to robo fight. At least show time transition, or Vivy making a move or complaining, and bear taking over heavy bot nearby.

The part where vivy is running to the other building looks like a director/animation mistake as it looks like she appears further away after the dude jumps into the other building.

Unless she threw him forward and he run faster but the length of the building got longer in the scene when she was running just to get a cool shot.

Anyway the ending scene was a bit sudden but thought it was obvious when you notice the close up of the articles and the plane

Then agian why couldn't vivy save the plane it shouldn't matter considering they have already changed the future by saving the dude so can't see how trying to save the girl would have made any difference

On a separate note, can somebody explain to me what was going on during that building collapse scene? Since I watched it a dozen times and it still looks completely impossible to me. Here's what I saw. Vivy/Diva and Aikawa are on the landing strip-esque roof and start running down the center of the roof toward the other building. As they run the roof starts completely collapsing behind them. As they reach the end the collapse is right at their heels and we see Aikawa jump off the edge and fall into the other building while we see Vivy/Diva standing still at the edge of the collapsing building.
Here's were it gets wierd. We then see Vivy/Diva again running along that same roof that had just collapsed but it is now in one piece again and she is somehow back on the far side of the roof. So she runs across it again and it collapses behind her again. She then finishes with the very dramatic jump that ends with her landing right in front of Aikawa.
So how is that physically possible? Did I miss something obvious?

Looks like a animation/ director maybe storyboard oversight /mistake after the dude Lands and cuts back to vivy she is still running but futhur down then she should have been when the building is still collapsing when she should just be behind the dude and I doubt the dude ran faster then her and while she was running the length of the Building looked like it got longer

Also purpose, if the purpose of AI is to serve humans, then what went wrong in the future?
Did AI just get sick of following orders?
This part gave me lot of Nier:Automata vibes.

In episode 1, the bear suggested all the AI has turned back into "regular Robots" (most likely following a mastermind AI)

So somehow that one Mastermind AI gone evil and corrupted all other AI through the same way the bear was transferring and manipulating data to DIVA.

And the future DIVA did not go berserk because she was already in shutdown mode stashed in a museum.

(And I was right, the Bear is indeed trying to make it so the AI stays robot slaves instead of AIs with rights)

What I don't understand right now is that are we perceiving the AI's how they want to be seen and they actually all look like Generic Ai's?

Like the Dude who Vivy was protecting we saw his point of View and Vivy was just a Generic Ai. Was that because of the glasses?

If not why be in disguise? Thats where I am confused atm.

EDIT:

I"m guessing he downloaded or uploaded all of the future or at least some foresight of the future for diva to know the plane with her friend would be on it. otherwise how tf would she know but yea not a bad episode. I feel like diva has no personality and it makes the series seem so bland and tasteless. I hope she starts to open up and spread those legs.

The first two episodes have shown a strong ability to drop my jaw to the floor- whether it be through visuals or plot. I did not expect them to blow up the child from the beginning, but I am glad this isn't going down the, "Saving everyone from every incident ever," route. It introduces some moral tension into the plot that I think will be really interesting.

Let's hope this show keeps it up!

Dang, this is getting good. I think Diva will always have to struggle between her task and her beliefs, and that struggle will be very entertaining to watch. The things she'll have to sacrifice to 'fix' the future seem great, and because of that a lot of emotional sorting-out is in place. Can't wait to see the next one.

Nice episode. But a bit weird: How did the guy they protected end up seeing the illusion? Matsumoto talked about his glasses but they seemed like normal ones. Not like teh elecctronical night vision goggles the attackers used.

It was special glasses, that's why Matsumoto was able to hack it to disguise Vivy and not have him recognize her/it.

Luthandorius said:
Also he must have heard the conversation when they talked about the future and stuff. I guess this is just your usual anime thing where this won't get explained and the guy just didn't hear anything.

I'm pretty sure that Vivy and Matsumoto were conversing telepathically.

Ah thanks, the only to pay attention on that.

I almost tought that all Diva's appearence was only a projection, a ilusion over her robot crude body.

Maybe because i was watching Psycho-Pass some days ago.

The remaining question for me in this episode at least is "where is the current Diva?" (the one from 100 past, and not our diva from future).

Or Matsumoto could not bring the future Diva and just hacked the Diva from past? But why that story of "you was the only one left". The body is needed for this magical time-travel hacking skills? lol

But i think next episodes will tell sonething more about this. Maybe not.

I love this kind of anime about time and destiny more like Final destination stuff
That ending is kinda confusing on how that scene immediatelty pops out and that girl died the one Vivy cares the most, sucks bruh

I think that ending in the ep is about that saving people that usually gonna die will caused a great disturbance in the present timeline like from the movie final destination

Vivy looks really pretty in this ep

Also i like to point out how that bear and Vivy still have conflicts and they still dont trust each other

Maybe it's a design choice but Vivy's body sure looks "sturdy" for an AI created with the sole purpose of singing.

Overall, better than the first episode but mostly because of the notorious upgrade on its production values. Vivy's reason to save the young terrorist was quite lame and the scene with her friend suddenly dying in a plane explosion felt extremely random too. Seriously, they could have done something better to state that Matsumoto only cares about his mission.
