Psyborgrey said: I agree, I love Rak as a character and I hope we get to see some character development for him soon.Personally the comedy isn't really doing it for me. The whole chocolate bars thing was funny in the beginning but now it's become Rak's whole personality. Rak has seen the least amount of character development of the bunch. |

Meh episode, this test is probably the weakest as whole... confusing, nothing is properly explained, i also feel like im missing something, Khun carrying this episode but can't help much with this so awkwardly bad animation and fights. And Rak also doesn't do anything even with promising personality in the start... he's just a chocolate crocodile now, dissapointing. |

Garbage Episode. They Cut So Much Content It Didn't Even Feel Like The Same Story. It's Barebones Plot Progression With No Character Development For Anyone. It's Almost As Bad As The Toriko Anime Adaptation. RIP. |

YggdraSEED said: Okay this finally got my interest in the webtoon How many chapters does it covers now? Also how many chapters is S1 and 2 of the webtoon? You can say ep 44. But they cut some content from previous chapters so I would recommend reading from the start since they change some things. For example first chapters are about Yuri when in the anime she arrives out of nowhere. You would not be so confused then. Season 1 is 78 ep. And season 2 is 337 chapters. But chapters from season 2 tend to be twice as long as chapters from season 1 so. |

Time for another negative comment about ToG... This episode was, in one word, confusing (?). First, I still don't clearly understand what was that game about, or even where it is ocurring, I mean really, the physical space where they are makes no sense at all. And what were those cubes? What do they do? What are they meant for? Second, from what I got from last episode the two teams were supposed to play at the same time (at least that's what the subtitles said in spanish), and that would be more logical since the second team has more time to make a plan and even can see what's the first team doing. That's an obvious advantage for the second team (were our MC casually is). Third, I understand that Rak is not participating because he already cleared his own test, but later on this episode Lero Ro tells that Khun, Shibisu, and Lauroe passed too, even before knowing about Khun's deal with Quant... so why are they even participating? Fourth, Khun making a deal to save his "friends" (even though he barely knows them) makes no sense with the idea the show is trying to sale about Khun's personallity. Wasn't he suppose to be cold and manipulator? Fifth, Quant doesn't lose anything if any team wins, so why is he so desperate to win? Sixth, if only one team can win, the sole idea of playing A team first is stupid, since they can win and so, B team can lose without even playing. Seventh, because of point 6, it was terribly obvious that A team couldn't win. Eighth, if Baam is so sure that Michelle is Rachel, why doesn't he talk to her? He, suppousedly, doesn't care about the tower, he is there ONLY to find Rachel, so... wtf?? Ninth, Quant, a supreme, really falls that easily in that kind of trap? He JUMPED and didn't had a plan to not falling?? And lets say it, for being a guy that already climbed the tower (that is supposedly extremely hard and only "the chosen ones" can do so) doesn't seem to be very superior to the regulars... I though he gave them 111 seconds because he would make that same distance in 1 or something, but no, he calmly walked, beated a few guys (who offered little to no resistance at all), and, somehow, catched Anaak... How? Who knows. Tenth, wtf about Endorsi relation with Baam? She sometimes hates (?) him, sometimes doesn't care about him, and now she was jealous???? WHY????? Eleventh, B team really choose Endorsi to be the one with that insignia? The same girl that has already broken her shoes twice? That sound like a stupid decision. Twelveth, Lero Ro talking about Khun as he has known him from a loooooong time... no, just no. And I could keep going but I'm really tired... seriously, this episode didn't make sense at all, clearly the worst so far. And if anyone is wondering, no, no one is forcing me to watch this, but I will finish this season because I don't like to drop shows (I've dropped only one of +100 animes) and so I can make an objective and well founded review of it when its over. |

Your complain are understandable, the anime doesn't explain anything and waste his time on comedy scene that shouldn't be here. You should read the webtoon instead, it's slow, the graphics are mediocre at first but the world-building is far more developed. |

The cubes are what light bearers have and use. It is their item so to speak. In manhwa it was already explained in detail at this point but I guess anime does not care. 2. It was wrong translation. The second team is worse in terms of abilities so it evens out a bit. 3. That is why Lauroe is sleeping. He does not care. They all had those classes for weeks. They had exams and other stuff that awarded them overall points. Some are just geniuses that had great scores before this test. 4 . Khun is interested in Bam , that is his only reason , atleast in manhwa. I guess they like to change stuff without reason. 5. Because he is Quant. And some amatours had decided that they have chance against him. Of course he woukd be pissed. And them winning? That would be a real shame. 6. It is not like that. Bam is Wave Controller. At the end only certain amount of Wave Controllers will pass (I believe 2). So Khun wants team A to lose , the Wave Controllers on team A did not do much so they will receive little points, that way Bam has greater chance of passing. 7. Look above 8.Because he knows that she does not want to talk to him. He is not stupid. He knows that much after talking to Khun those few episodes back. 9.That is my main complaint with this adaptation. In manhwa I really was afraid for them .I thought he would kill some of them. Lightning was different, he was more intimidating and scary. In anime they made him waterbender and flash step guy. Like why? xD 10. Hates him? When? 11. That is what happens when team does not have any other leader type of person among them. Noone had any plan so they were glad that someone wants to be 'leader'. Plus she is a princess. 12. Another thing that doesn not make sense with all the stuff that they are skipping. |

The place where the game is taking place and its "blueprint" was shown in the last episode. The purpose of lighthouses (cubes) was shown in previous episodes, multiple ones - it's basically a higly advenced computer used to gather info and analyze it. It's the team's HQ, so to speak. 2. The teams face the ranker separately, don't know how it was in spanish subs but english ones stated it clearly. Regarding the team's B advantegate of going second, it's by design, nobody said the tests are 100% fair. 3. Regulars gather points by A) attending their classes and completing assignments, and B) participating and performing well in the Tag game C) winning the Tag game. Whoever has the most points in ther respective positions pass this last test and can climb to the next floor. So it's possible to have enough points prior to the Tag game, that you can do nothing in it and end up having the most points, thus passing. Rak and Ghost had an opportnity to skip all the tests if they hit that target. 4. If this episode didn't show how manipulative Khun is then i don't know what you expect. He wanted Bam to have easier time passing so he made sure his team doesn't get the huge bonus points for winning or for catching the ranker but at the same time let his teammates have an opportunity to show their skills and get some points by it. 5. It's about pride and ego. Imagine a world master in karate getting his ass kicked by a 5 year old. It's an utter humiliation and we were already told that Quant hates losing. 6. It's not that only one team can win. If the first team wins, then with Quant's personality he'll try harder during team's B tests. If the first team loses, then Quant presumably goes a little bit easier on the second team. If unimaginably two teams win, then most people from the first team pass the whole positions test because of total number of points they accumulated during the game and their previous assaignments. Because clearly the firepower of teams A and B are not the same. Did you notice that most of the powerful regulars or ones who have the most points in ther classes are on team A? 7. Since your point #6 is wrong, this one is too. 8. So far the test administrators are turning a blind eye on the rule stating that regulars who were acquaintances cannot participate in the same test. If Bam and Rachel were to show they know each other, they would be separated to other testing grounds and Bam would have to look for Rachel again. If he was a selfish person, he could make sure Rachel fails the test and they are both returned to where they came from but then Rachel would have her dream of "seeing the stars" crushed by Bam and he is aware of that. 9. The conversation between Khun and Quant at the bridge was cut short in the anime as was the explanation of lighthouses and how they operate. By not including these, Quant's decision might be seen as stupid. Basically, Khun provoked him by saying Quant's ordinary body (as opposed to princessess' and someone's from 10 Great Family which is Khun's heritage) even if he is a ranker couldn't handle the fall from that height with the restriction that is placed on him by the test's rules. Quant knows that Anaak is riding on a lighthouse under the bridge. The crucial info is the lighthouses can be operated to a certain distance from a lighbearer, so if you are quickly whisked away further than your range is, you can't control your lighthouse and then it simply falls to the ground. That's why he jumped off with Khun, because all of them would end up on the floor below the bridge, regulars presumably badly injured from the fall. Also, about him just walking. He is a test administrator still and his job is to test regulars. Keep in mind regulars are awarded points for their individual performance during this test as well, so he makes sure to encounter each and every one of them to let them show what they have learned so far during their classess. 10. ? When did she hate him? She is mainly annoyed at Bam, like all the audience is for now, for seeing only Rachel and not caring for anything else. She just can't understand his point of view. 11. She is the strongest regular there, you know. 12. It's not that he knows him. He knows of his family and has certain expectations because of it. It just looks like you don't pay much attention to details. Most of your points were explained in this or previous episodes. |

Anime-only here. Started watching recently because of the hype surrounding this anime this season. Personally, I felt that although the crown games episodes were more exciting and entertaining, I thought that this episode is also one of the best episodes so far in this series. I love fights that depend on logical tactics and with zero asspull "power of friendship" to win fights. The ending of this fight is just amazing and Khun really reminds me of Light or Lelouch. He's like this amazing chess-master who can think 10 steps ahead. He's definitely suited to the light-bearer position (the moment they described the positions in the anime, I already thought that Khun is really suitable to be in this position, as light-bearers seem like the tacticians/strategists of the battle who control the flow of the battle (with all the information at their fingertips and able to deploy people with the researched info). If Khun continues to be this amazing throughout this series and beyond, then I really have to pick up the webtoon soon.... Bam is indeed pretty bland as the main character so far.. it seems that it will take a while for his character to get more and more interesting. It's good though the surrounding characters are still interesting, mainly Khun (he's really carrying the show), Anak, Hak, Rak, Endorsi, the sleeping guy, hahaha. Hope next ep shows some development of Bam as wave controller as well as Rachel who's interestingly a light-bearer (they are both main characters but we still dunno much about them). I bet Endorsi will have similar mindsets as Khun and start to betray her team mates next ep either to ensure her own success or her personal friends (e.g. Bam's) (this ep already ends with her attacking one of her fellow fishermen teammates). |

Khun pretending their loss had nothing to do with him~ and doing his best so Bam and the others can pass the test. I'm assuming Hoh's envy towards Bam is going to be his downfall in the next episode. They're on the same team, so Hoh is probably gonna do something stupid so Bam can fail... But Bam will prevail and then he and red-haired-girl will pass from his team, instead of Hoh. Sounds good to me tbh, I want to know more about her. |

Khun playing them mind games with a ranker xDDD what an unpredictable guy. But I know kind of understand the point of this test. Can't wait for them to end the arc with a bang the next episode and maybe learn a bit more about Hoh's true personality and intentions. As usual, a very good episode. And soon, very soon the rocket is about to take off CAN'T WAIT |

Confusing episode, no clear explanation is given. The scenes flow together badly and the fight scenes lack any impact. The comedic relief is mostly annoying and Bam is still the blandest character. But Khun carries this show for me and all of his scenes are always interesting. I doubt the anime can better itself much with only a few episodes remaining, but I hope Bam manages to achieve some characterisation. |

One of my pet peeves are the people who don't understand the rules of the test, even though it was explained in the last episode CLEARLY, it said that each person is scored individually by their performance. The ranker's it has a badge, and the regulars it has a badge. To win the game the regulars either have to take the ranker's badge or reach the goal. If the ranker takes the regular's team badge then the team loses. The winning team gains 100,000 points. Its not that hard people. |

Hmm.. I'm also an anime-only and I actually had the opposite opinion... I thought it's one of the better episodes in this series, though that could be because I like characters like Khun who reminds me of Light or Lelouch. Perhaps either the subs you watched were poor/inaccurate or u missed a lot of explanations from previous episodes? From watching the anime, I think I can answer most of your questions here based on my understanding so far: 1)It's a game of tag. Basically if the examiner's tag captured the tag of the regulars before he/she can leave, then the team loses. If the regulars' team can leave the venue with tag intact, the team wins and they will be awarded a huge amount of points. If the regulars' team managed to steal the examiner's tag, then the team gets twice the huge amount of points. These points are essential for the regulars to pass the exam and move on to level 3 of the tower. The venue of the game was shown in ep 7. Those cubes were called lighthouses. They can provide light to illuminate dark places during the game (that's why when the examiner destroyed one of the lighthouses in the beginning, he was boosting about how well he can see and move in the dark). These lighthouses also seem to serve as super-computers, as Khun was shown in earlier episodes to use them to research about his team mates and the examiner ranker and their backgrounds/behaviour/data/stats/etc. Hence, I think that light bearers can serve as battle tacticians or strategists as they have all the info on their fingertips. 2)While explaining the game in ep 7, from my memory they didn't really state clearly whether the 2 teams are playing at the same time or not (I'm watching English sub). Anyway, Team A has better regulars than Team B (Ep 8 stated this upfront) so it also balances out even if there's more advantage to playing second for Team B. 3)In episode 7, only spear bearers have this special test where if you passed it, you passed the overall position test. Rak passed this special test so he passed the overall position test. The other positions did not have this special test, so everyone else in other positions have to participate in the tag game even if they already scored high points in their daily classes/activities etc (the tag game is like this compulsory final exam of the position test). 4)He is cold and manipulative! Notice how he betrayed his entire team A with a smirk on his face and no one knew except the sleepy guy and the examiners! My personal opinion after watching is that his main goal is to help Bam only (he cares less about the other "friends" despite the examiner thinking that he wants to help his own group of "friends"; I think the examiner is mistaken). Notice how Khun mentally asked Bam to grab onto the opportunity Khun created by making his team lost (he thought to Bam "Come join me up here!".... or something like that). He will only help the group of "friends" if Bam wants to help them (as shown in the scouts test in prev eps). I think Khun's main goal is to continue climbing the tower with Bam and Rak. As to why Khun grew close to Bam, over the past episodes, we can see that Khun sees himself in Bam (he find Bam relatable due to his situation with Rachel, due to Khun's past with the half-sister who became the princess). 5)It's his personality. Khun (or the examiners) have explained in ep 7 or 8 that Quant has a brash and rash personality, and is someone with a lot of pride who cannot stand to lose. I guessed that Khun figured this out while researching on Quant in the lighthouse. 6)Nope. Both teams can win the game (or lose the game). The episodes didn't say that only one team can win. It's just that if team A won, all the regulars in team A will have a huge amount of points scored, and will definitely pass the position test (it seems to me that not everyone can pass the position test, only the top scorers can do so). There seems to be a cut-off criteria of points since Lero Ro mentioned that some ppl can already passed the test even after they lost the tag game. Since most of the regulars in team A are stronger than in team B, they probably have more points already before the tag game. So if team A won the tag game, it's like a guaranteed pass for the overall position test for team A regulars, and team B members will fail the position test even if they win the tag game (and anyway, it's highly unlikely that team B will even win the tag game since team B is weaker overall). 7)Invalid as point 6 is incorrect. 8)He recognises that Rachel doesn't want to speak to him or acknowledge him as she wants to continue climbing the tower (to see the stars). He's respecting her wishes and is giving her the space to pretend that she's another person, as he cares about her. 9)Apparently, it was explained that Quant was severely limited in his Shinshu use; hence, he didn't seem as god-like in strength and prowess (which is only fair as otherwise, what's the point of the tag game when there's zero chance of winning the it?). Secondly, it was also mentioned in the ep that Quant have a troublesome and rash personality that could backfire on him: notice how the examiners brought up this point when they saw him approaching the bait set by Team A. Calmness and being strategic doesn't seem to be Quant's strengths. He probably had other strengths that led him to become a ranker. He jumped as he was over-confident that this will cause Team A to lose the game. Because the episode implies that a light-bearer has to be near the lighthouse to control it. Since Quant already suspected that Anak was supported on Khun's lighthouse hovering below the bridge, he gloated to Khun that if Khun fell with him, the lighthouse will fail and Anak will also fall together, away from the exit above and maybe even to her death/ suffering injuries. Quant calmly beat up everyone and caught up to Anak due to his strength, speed and stealth in the dark (he's a Ranker after all and the Scouts' teacher). 10) She's not jealous. She's just upset that Bam asked after Rachel and was concerned for Rachel, but Rachel treated Bam as if he's non-existent and unimportant in the pursuit of her goal to climb the tower (remb prev episode when Endorsi talked to Rachel about Bam). I think Endorsi is also a kind-hearted person who cares about people around her despite being vain about her looks and proud of her status as princess (example being her chat with Anak at the end of the fishermen mini-test when they were lying on the ground). 11)Endorsi is a Princess of Jahad, and The King of Jahad rules the entire tower lol. This means that Endorsi is a very important person in the tower (VVVIP). 12)They probably did. The anime gave hints over many episodes that Khun came from a famous family and had a very bad scandal involving him. Since this scandal involves his half-sister who became the Princess of Jahad (and King Jahah rules the tower), definitely ranker examiners in the tower who work for the King will know about the scandal and about Khun and his famous family. I got carried away and my post ended up being too long hahaha... :P Edit: All the above are based on the anime episodes only. If my interpretations are wrong due to info that's not in the anime and only found in the original webtoon, please do not spoil me here. Thanks:) |

The music that plays when Quant catches Anak's badge felt so familiar to me. Finally realized why it's so familiar. It's almost the same music from opening scene of the Blade movie. This one, to be more specific: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6UXQ_9IRo8 |

I like this episode. I wish it followed more closely to the webtoon on some bits. I love the twist and turns and I would say it was more tense then reading the webtoon. |

One thing that seems to be confusing for anime onlies - Khun is his last name, i.e. his family name. His first name is Aguero Agnes. Khun is a well known family in the tower. It was pretty well established and clear by this point in the manhwa, but anime is a mess on all fronts, so I'm not surprised. Also, it really does seem kinda stupid that Quant fell for his trap, because they basically forgot to mention that the lighthouse can be operated at a specific range. In other words, he pulled him with himself because that would make the lighthouse fall as well. |

lazypigz said: Something I notced this episode is why is CR translating MC-kuns name as Bam? Reading from the list that was revealed in the episode... and by hearing (Yoru) his name translates to “Night of the 25th Day”. Ok so then, why Bam? And what does Night of the 25th Day mean? Another thing where anime, or should I say, translators, failed. Yes, his name is "25th Night". Baam is Korean for night. He's named after his day of birth. So, Japanese actually did it well (calling him Yoru instead of Baam), while subs failed completely, instead of at least mentioning the meaning in the first episode. But yeah, those are just unimportant details. Good thing we have important stuff, like chocobars. |

I love Khun's personality and the type of relationships he has with others. The music where Khun was pulled off by Quant was really good props to Kevin Perkin. I can't wait to hear the other music he has composed for this show. |

Incredibly underwhelming the way how this series handles tension... and the way how they mix it with comedy gags make it feel anything but impactful. Overall, awfully boring episode until the last few minutes with the "betrayal" part. Honestly, I was expecting something like this from Khun so the twist wasn't particularly impressive. Him acting like the sneaky fox he is was still rather enjoyable tho. But this said, I'm afraid his character might be the only strong point this show's narrative will have during this season. |

I have rewatched 7th episode again but still can't understand one thing. Why team B would lose if team A wins? Rules don't say like there can be only one winner team. Pls halp, guys :D |

@romeg go through comment #161 & #163 Basically from each position (5 position are mentioned) only certain no. of individuals are allowed to pass based on points (they have) . So, it is not like if team A passes then team B fails. But most of guys in team A like shibisu, khun, laure are currently top points holder in their respective position that if they win tag round then people in team B can't caught up with them even if they win too. Now coming to bam's situation here - For position of wave controllers only two person will be allowed to pass (no. Of allowed people for each position is different). Laure has already enough points that he is guaranteed to pass no matter even if he fails and other wave controller passes (due to his excellent performances during previous tests) bam is not in top 2 . Grey, a wave controller who is in team A got more points than bam so if team A passes grey will get more points and bam will automatically fails whether his team passes or not. This is also the reason behind hoh behaviour as he fears that bam will take 2nd spot . Same is with other people on team b. Anime did skip this information. Well there were hints here and there but as an anime only it is bit confusing. |

As expected when seeing the previous episode, Khun must be do something to help Yoru pass his own test. But, never realise to using that game loses for that purposes. Khun shines too much, Yoru began secondary character, and this show really keep its twist tag until the final episode released. Not a fan such a big puzzle thing hanging around, yet, i might call it a weakness. The storyline put in too much unresolved mystery when the flow of the plot can't be predicted. Oh, well.... |

I'm kinda worried about pacing. 34 chapter still need to cover in only 5 episodes. Considering they took 8 episodes to cover first 43 episodes.According to director of anime they are going to include atleast 1 chapter of season 2 also. I hope they do justice to these last chapters of season 1.i kind of get irritated just thinking about what they gonna cut from upcoming arc. 😞 |

I got the gist of it all, as things weren't completely explained. I see a lot of complaints here from the manga readers. But it's just a fun ride. This anime in of itself isn't that deep.It has a lot of unexplained plot. The entire idea of the test is ridiculous. These test have conditions that just aren't explained as well as simply advancing is unexplained. Hell I don't even know what floor they're on or if the floor even matter. Climbing this tower is so much less interesting than the drama happening.Which is a good thing, because climbing a never ending tower seems boring. Unless the plot actually thickens with the mystery of the tower. It's like discount made in the abyss. 0 sense of intrigue and tons of drama. It's like 'Okay you gotta win this game of hide and seek" easy, don't need to explain. That's reasonable. Then they get in the game and I'm just enjoying the game. During the game a plan hatches and all the smart students are apparently playing for shits and giggles because they already passed. |

Not as horrible as ep7, but its maybe because my expectation has dropped even lower after ep.7. Until now, we were able to see what the production team was trying to do. Since its such a large volume of episodes they have to put within just 13 episodes, they always tried to show the minimal amount of information just enough for the audience to understand whats going on. They were doing pretty good at this until ep.7, but it just became so mediocre since the start of tag arc. Understandable, but a failure is a failure. |

brzytki said: PurpleMario said: Time for another negative comment about ToG... 1. Maybe you are right and its just a translation issue. Most of spanish subs are translations of english subs and not direct translation of japanese, so yeah, spanish speakers like me usually have problems with that. But even assuming I've lost some information or something was mistranslated (and I really appreciate the explanations) there are a few things that still doesn't make sense. 3. I clearly got that, the question is: Why did the administrators include Lauroe and Shibisu, but not Rak, in the game if the three of them had enough points to pass? (Assuming Khun only gathered enough points by that bargain with Quant) 4. I'm not saying Khun is not "manipulative", I mean that for a guy who is supposedly cold or heartless, he is a pretty kind person. Yeah, he betrayed his "team", but all in order to save his "friends". And maybe is just my imagination, but I though that he was only interested in his own purpose and (because of Gary Stu stuff) in Baam, so a character like Khun having a bunch of friends that easily doesn't convince me. 5. Quant assumed he lost the moment he accepted Khun's deal, so that is still... weird. 6. Maybe just a mistranslation, but B team clearly said that they loose if A team wins. With that exact words. And about the inequallity of the groups members, maybe more important characters are actually in A team, but we hadn't see how skilled are the rest, so there is no reason for me to assume that B team is weaker. 8. Yes, I guess they said once that none of the participants can know each other, but you said it yourself, administrators are, so far, turning a blind eye, even to the point of having two princesses at the same time. Even if they didn't, with everyone talking so freely and visiting each other in their private rooms, it would be veeeeeeeeeeeeery easy to just have a meal together or something and just talk, pretending they've just met if necesary. So I still don't see a good reason for Baam to not doing the one and only thing he wants to do, talk to Rachel. 9. You win this. If he HAS to test everyones abilities I guess its fine. Still I think they failed at making him imponent or something. For being a guy with almost God-level skill (supposedly) he looks pretty normal. Not saying he has to be "bigger" or something, but... idk. None of the characters looks a real threat to me. Even so... didn't Quant know that Anaak had the Green April? Still seems a pretty lame plan to me, but I'll guess that Quant is pretty stupid and its fine again. 10. That's what I call jealousy, and being jealous for a guy who she literally doesn't know sounds stupid. Again, only explanation possible, Baam is your typical Gary Stu. 11. Being a princess, I get that she is the strongest (or so), but would any person with a little bit of brains trust in someone who has, to say it somehow, "feet issues" in a race game?? A FUCKING RACE?????? If she has to fight Quant and her shoes break again I swear I drop this. Once again, thanks for the explanations, now I can enjoy (???) this show a bit more, but even if the manga is "solid" in explanations, as an anime-only reviewer the lack of information is a problem and I can't just oversee it because the manga is better. IF (and only if) the season endings gets me a bit hyped I guess I'll start reading the manga (and probably not turning back for the second season). |

IF (and only if) the season endings gets me a bit hyped I guess I'll start reading the manga (and probably not turning back for the second season). 3. I agree that it wasn't that clear in the anime. After Rak (and Ghost) managed to hit the target the spearbearer teacher set, they pretty much didn't need to attend any more classes because they have already "graduated". They didn't need to gather any more points cause they proved they attained the main goal that was set for them. It's like if they were at school and won a national maths competition - they don't need to attend any more maths classes or show up for maths exams cause they clearly showed how skilled at maths they are. And only spearbearers had such a test that allowed them to skip all the next ones, other positions didn't have something like this, they still have to gather points and participate in every test. 4. Right, Khun is only really interested in Bam so far. But as Bam started to become friends with others, Khun decided to include them in his plans. Cause imagine if Bam learned that Khun could've helped his friends but actively chose not to. It would change him and his relationship with Khun, which isn't something the latter wants. 5. Yes, he still lost to Khun but not publicly - only a handful of people know about it instead of every ranker/regular present. In the webtoon it's more understandable since not only Hansung and Leroro are watching the game but also other positions teachers who didn't notice how Khun manipulated Quant at the very end - they thought Quant climbed to the bridge by himself without using shinsu and praise him for it. And keep in mind there was something Khun said to Quant just before Lauroe sent him up, which we still don't know about but Hansung said he doubts that Quant is gonna grant Khun's wish. So Quant will probably try to screw whatever Khun was asking of him to do during team B test. 6. Ok, maybe not strictly weaker but having fewer points. If before the Tag game people on team A have more points than people on team B, then if both teams win, people on team B still have fewer points than people on team A, thus won't make the cut for the spots in each position. On team A we have Shibisu, Khun, Anaak and Lauroe as people with the most points in their respective positions. If team A wins, it's more likely that other people in team A will have more points in their respective positions than their counterparts on team B. Take Bam for example, though he has great potential, he didn't do much in the previous tests and so he has low amount of points. Endorsi, lost all her points to medical bills and is probably at the bottom of her class (it was said in ep 7 i think, by Khun) - that's why she jumped out of her seat when she heard how many points you'd get for catching the ranker. Serena is average at best. That's why it was said if team A wins, then team B loses. It's because no matter how well team B performs, the individuals on team B wouldn't have enough points to beat even the 2nd best people in their respective positions on team A. 8. In webtoon it's explained that it's not that easy (the seemingly free and private atmosphere i mean) but only after the tag game has ended we know about this. Let's see if the anime mentions this in episode 10 i believe. Also, it was hinted a few times that even Hansung has superiors, and strict at that, that wouldn't hesitate to punish him if he made a blunder. 9. I'd call him more hot-headed than stupid. He is severly restricted, so that he doesn't "accidentally" kill regulars but if he wasn't he could easily kill them all. I agree that he wasn't quite portrayed as very intimidating and powerful. But you'll see what rankers are capable of when unrestricted in the near future. 10. Yes, jealousy but more of Rachel having someone who literally doesn't care about anything else but her than strictly of Bam as a person, at least for now. Plus, she can't comprehend Rachel's motives for trying to stay away from Bam and it angers her. Hopefully more Endorsi/Bam interaction in the next episode so you'll see what i'm talking about. 11. I would drop it as well, lol. Three times would be too many haha. I agree that the explanation part of what's going on on the screen is lacking in the anime. It shouldn't be required to read the webtoon or ask readers to explain to watchers for example the test rules or some key parts while we have countless of filler scenes with Rak eating chocolates. First 2-3 were ok, cause they hinted at Khun's bag but after that they are unnecessary, yet we still have them. Anyway, i hope i could help again. |

1. 3. Rak is not included because he already passed (during position training for spear bearer, the teacher present the condition that if they can hit the target then they directly pass). While in case of khun & shibisu, they got most points in their respective position so they are likely to pass (but they still don't passed as no conditions for directly passing was given to them in their position training classes). So Rak is not in competition as he passed while khun and shibisu have to still sail through tag test ( though they are expected to pass due to their extra points compare to their fellow position mates.) And one more thing, it is not explained in anime but only few fixed no. Of individuals will pass from each positions based on points (irrespective of result of tag game and team (A or B) they belongs to. And khun not gathered enough points by bargaining with quant, he was best during light bearer position training, so got more points ( points were awarded during position training classes based on how an individual performs) 4.his main concern is only bam 5.Quant is a ranker and have to rely on mere regulars to prevent his loss kind of big loss for his pride. 6. It was not told by any test administrative. It was specifically told that baam would fail if team A passes(which is not a rule but indirect result). To understand it first know that only two wave controller will pass the test based on total point an individual hold after tag game. Laure (sleeping dude, a wave controller) already accumulated enough points that no wave controller can outscore him now in wave controller position, so one spot ( of two spots) is guaranteed to be taken by him leaving only one more spot for wave controller . So all wave controller are competing for that second spot.baam is not in top two. In A team, grey got more points than baam so if team A win then grey will have more points that baam will not be able to outscore her (even if team B wins). That's also why endrossi said to baam that he will fail if team a passes.HOh is also a wave controller and that is also the reason behind his behaviour as he feared that baam will outscore him and he will fail ( only two wave controller can pass) 8. Baam clearly knows that Rachel don't want to meet him . He don't want to be an obstacle between her dreams. He is looking for right way to confront her as he don't want to be a burden to her. 9.His shinshu is limited (merely allowed) during test. If he use shinshu he can kill all regulars easily in a matter of few seconds. Though his motive was not that.it was not like he was using his full power. Though I agreed that there was less tension in anime (anime didn't pay much attention to action, I guess because studio was not experienced with action Anime) . But I'm sure that power difference was clearly shown. 10. All I can say for the reason behind her behavior is that you will understand it better after 1 or 2 episodes. 11.well let's see if her heal breaks again. Lol Season 2 is still a question mark I think. If it comes in future, I hope they atleast pick modern level action animation studio (proper budget compare to this cheap one and most importantly enough episodes to fit content without rushing). |
