| The war scenes were pretty realistic I almost had the tremors from the horror of war so props to that. I still continue to be impressed by this anime. |

Not to say there aren't times when western media go on the occasional ' 'unhistorical' f*ck yeah america! ' sprees when portraying their troops in battle. Rommel had a free political hand in Africa considering he was 'assisting' Italy in North Africa, a theater that at the time was not considered German. It's true that the nazis utilized foreigners into legions to assist in the war including people of African decent most likely due to Germany's previous experiences with such troops during the first world war with colonial troops that fought for the German Empire from their overseas colonies. Germany also utilized people they deemed as 'untermenchen' in SS foreigner battalions as with the african troops for their convenience, why sacrifice Germans when you can have the people you wanted to eliminate do the job for them? I don't really see how having soldiers that the nazis saw as genetically inferior fight alongside Germans excuses the fact that the Nazi's desired the complete deportation and eventual genocide of every non German from Warsaw to the Ural mountains either. |

| was a nice ep best parts was Izetta one thing i can say i didnt like is the glasses guy and how super lucky he was, all i gotta say is i hope he doesn't become a big part of the story other that that Izetta made this ep great |

| Beginning was dark, reflected reality of war. That boy survived but his captain died and many others died too. My beautiful Izetta was flying on a gun, flipping tanks and stacking swords together to protect herself from said tank. I'm so proud of my baby girl TT__TT |

| Aside from a few questionable fan-service shots, the Izetta battle was the most satisfying scene of the anime season. The music in particular is spectacular. In the middle of this grim and foreboding atmosphere you have this Celtic singing coming out of nowhere which transitions into a faster tempo with the heroic trumpets blaring and finally a rock section when she gets into her groove flipping tanks. Listening to that stuff gives you chills. |

Hopefully Izetta can keep up this kind of action. Maybe even throw in some politicking. |

| This episode...is just amazing.You could see the true power of friendship and love from the bottom of the screen,it's pretty impressive that how the show portrayed the atmosphere.even though the circumstances of the country is severe,Hima will not take this as the priority,since she believes the other characters themselves have their own love ones and family,but the Mahou shoujo can't take that and fight for her...That's just amazing. |

| As usual Izetta and Princess Fine are the saving graces of this show that made the second half of this episode very entertaining. If it weren't for them I would not be watching this...then again, if it weren't for them this would probably be a single-episode OVA of Germans destroying Elystadt. |

| Powerful episode, the kid with the glasses changed his dimenor a lot from the start to finish of battle. Izetta had one hell of a kill streak too. |

| Fine not wanting Izetta to be involved for her own saftey is heartbreaking but Izetta caring about Izetta cause she's been so alone and wants to help the one person that's truly seen her for who she is. I do have to admit the war affects of the trenches and fall of a small nation is grittier then I'd thought they'd get but it makes the military aspect actually enjoyable. It doesn't feel like just a back drop. |
