Unexpected ending story, I HATE the ending! Honestly I feel so hurt to see the end, bit disappointed moment. But I really like whole story except the ending! The story are flowing nice & unpredictable. I like the main character Tinasha & Oscar, they left an impression on my heart.

Great ending, and tbh, the dramatic cliffhanger has been spot on, even though I hope everything it happened before isn't really irrelevant (I would really hate it 😅).

It's such a shame that most episodes have felt really rushed... Tinasha, Oscar, and the world of Unnamed Memory are pretty interesting, and with a better pacing could have become a better anime.

I was expecting the last episode to explain why Oscar and his father were cursed at least with the witch that cursed them at the end of the last episode. Where does the series go from here?

I just binged this anime over the weekend and having never heard of this story before even I can tell that this was a blatant speed run. I feel bad for long-time fans because it seems like a decent enough premise for a great story. I honestly wish I would have read the manga, or even LN, before committing to the anime. :(

Is there more material beyond the S1 ending?

Pretty chill season finale with a bit of emotional vibes. Oscar and Tinasha's relationship is the highlight here again since the pair has progressed so much this season.

All the events leading up to this episode, Oscar is still her hero. It does look like this episode went back to the roots of the show from the beginning with its themes. It's a fine finale imo but not something groundbreaking.
@Stark700 this was a "pretty chill season finale"? It came out of nowhere and made the season pointless.

This might be the worst anime of the season, even ahead of Slime and Re:Monster for me (there are a couple other shows like Highspeed Etoile or 'The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases' that are objectively worse but didn't care enough about whatsoever to really make note of it in detail). Given how terrible the buildup was in the first 11 episodes, the twist to have it restart basically with this finale (which I already didn't care about in the books to happen out of nowhere), was handled very poorly here and ultimately, the husks of characters that we followed throughout feels even more meaningless now. There is a second season but I liked that content even less than the first half of the books, and I'm not a fan of those either. Given how dreadful the adaptation is, not holding up much hope for anything. For the amount of complaining I can have about Slime and its boring meetings, Unnamed Memory's characters didn't feel like anything at all and the plot felt so random and haphazard due to its terrible adaptation. Unnamed Memory is worse and yeah, don't think there is a show I actually disliked more and had enough care about what I saw to consistently feel frustrated and rant on it than just watching it without a care and moving on instantly like a couple other forgettable terrible shows this season.
@animejas you say that as if Slime was bad. It's slower than previous seasons because it is dialogue but that does not make it bad. There is nothing wrong with setup episodes which is something this anime lacked among other things and that made it bad.

Despite the "bad" ending which I usually despise, I actually liked the final episode a lot. I know that there will be another versions of their story, but this episode even if consider it as actual ending was pretty good and redeemed a lot of dubious plot twists in previous episodes.
@Haustlaufivindi how were the plot twists redeemed if they were made meaningless?

@KANLen09 don't worry only bad shows get a s2 so naturally we'll see one for this. honestly what the fuck is wrong with Japan? good shows cancelled but shit like Re: monster and this trash gets a continuance, I really wonder if it's a Japanese ritual to drop their kids on their heads as babies.
@StateofOhayo "only bad shows get a s2"? Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion was one of those anime that one had to watch back in the day and it got a season 2. Attack on Titan which got into the mainstream and left a defining impact got a season 2. Re:Zero which subverts one's expectations for the iseaki genre got a season 2. KonoSuba got a season 2. Jujutsu Kaisen got a season 2. Delicious in Dungeon is getting a season 2. I could go on.

With this episode it went from a 9 to a 10 for me
@Ridwanbtw you rate this anime a 10, a masterpiece? The pacing was rushed and plot developments came out of nowhere instead of answering the question the viewer had since the first episode of why Oscar and his father were cursed. That was set up to be the question that kept viewers watching. It was not answered and now it doesn't matter. Oscar's curse wasn't lifted either. It was actually a blessing that was canceled out with another curse which was not a satisfying resolution.

It was a great final episode. So, Oscar tried to change his past and disappeared completely, leaving Tinasha the official queen of Farsas kingdom. I was impressed about how they managed to defeat Lanak once and for all. Akashia sword wielded by Oscar had a tremendous power in terms of magic.

I am so glad it will be a second season next year in January. This story must continue, there are so many more to be shown and we’ll see how Tinasha manages the kingdom’s chores and what decision would she make as a queen. Maybe she will give up about her title as Azure Moon witch, it would be interesting:)

This anime suprised me, especially the final episode. I liked it very much, everything was almost perfect (animation, characters, story, adaptation, etc.). Also, the opening/ending theme were both good. I can say that Oscar really loved Tinasha from the bottom of his heart, he did not give up when he was rejected so many times and now, the Witch Of Silence’s curse is broken.
@OtakuKun1 you don't understand what happened which makes sense how you say "it was a great final episode". Tinasha was not left the queen of Farsas. Oscar changed the past so Tinasha's empire Tuldarr was not destroyed so she became empress and never became the Witch of the Azure Moon. The final episode came out of nowhere and made the show pointless. The story and adaptation were not perfect. Light novel readers hate the adaptation. The Witch of Silence's curse was not even broken. It turned out the curse was a blessing which Tinasha canceled out with an actual curse which was not a satisfying resolution of that conflict.

Ok, I get it now. I remember they said Tinasha is the queen, but the queen of Tuldarr kingdom. Yes, Oscar changed Tinasha’s past in order for that kingdom to never be destroyed. I did not say it was a perfect episode, but overall, I liked the anime. Of course it also had weak points and many should have been improved, but I have this anime an 8 on MAL.

@Weeb_Isekai I mean it wasn't meant to be literal. also I didn't like the dungeon eating show, since i couldn't care less about cooking monsters. It wasn't a bad show, just not to my tastes (pun intended). Jujutsu Kaisen gets worse with every episode, so idk, still have hopes for it but good anime like girl's last tour never got a s2 and I had to go to the manga. Honestly if they had animated it i'd need at least two boxes of tissues for all my crying. But I'm tired of what can be chalked up as "meh" anime getting seasons when brilliant shit gets dropped. what about tower of god? great story, maybe not the best adaptation but never got a s2 despite how great the story is and the characters. I mean, I guess I got a game to play on my phone but I'd love to see it on screen with a larger cast, really good work.

@StateofOhayo Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 was top mid. It was the Shibuya arc in season 2 that elevated it. It had good animation and fight scenes. Tower of God is getting a season 2.

A lot of people complaining that this is bad but as an anime-only watcher I thought it was good. I wasn't expecting that ending at all but it didn't feel hollow to me like some "twist" endings can be. I've seen that the anime skipped a LOT though so I'll have to go and read the source before S2 so I can be disappointed with everyone else.

Normally I'd call shenanigans on this kind of ending even though it was a good episode since it essentially renders everything before potentially meaningless. However, I thought after a great first episode this show's had a lot of ups and downs with only Oscar and Tinasha's relationship the one consistent highlight. So shaking the etch a sketch this way for a new season where presumably Oscar and Tinasha will find each other through the centuries actually gets me excited about season 2. Not a strong endorsement of season 1 I guess, but it was okay.

It helps that once you get beyond the convenience of the time travel everything Oscar did was moving and felt true to his character. Even at the cost of blinking himself out of existence and destroying his love, that same love couldn't let him just go back and leave past Tinasha to suffer so horribly. If more of the episodes were this damn good I'd have rated it higher.

Damn, that's a nasty ending...

At least there's a sequel announced to keep hopes up, though. I haven't touched the source material but I've heard it's been a pretty bad adaptation and honestly, I could tell but I found it okay. Definitely a lot better at the start but the character interactions and general plot didn't bore me too much.

Going to settle with a 6/10 here. No idea what's in store next but I'll watch.

not gonna lie, I dropped after ep 6 but I don´t need to watch this until the end to know it´s hopeless.

even the start was horrible. It´s the type of anime that: As long as it´s a man/prince it´s able to subdue even the strongest and fearest girl/woman. Right after the 1st episode a powerful witch becomes the prince´s "pet" - she doesn´t know yet or pretend to not know, but she is. Ridiculous.

Not only that but everything else is super bullshit.

It´s been while since I rated 1/10, even to a dropped anime.

And I don´t care about LN. And now I don´t need to (although I wouldn´t anyways xD )

Obviously, season 2 announced but well.. Japan is best at giving another season to the worst animes out there xD It´s an unfair world.

The ending was abysmal. Completely random and unnecessary. Why wouldn't they end with the wedding and continue this time travel thing in the 2nd season? If there will people wondering about watching S2, well... now they might be gone.

For me, it's one of those that deserves a 1 rating, even though I don't use 5 or less.

Holy.. That was heavy. That was a very hard decision to make there.. Let the past play out, so that you can return to the present, or Save your loved one and cease to exist. With how pure and sincere Oscar's love is, he would surely chose the latter.

What an ending this was, I wasn't expecting to be hit with this for the finale lol. The show's pacing, direction, and budget seem subpar throughout the season except for the last two episode. I just hope the whole season 2 would be much better, at least from the pacing and directing. I'm hyped for season 2, I just know it's going to be emotional from the way season 1 ended. Hope they don't fuck it up.

I was very much looking forward to the adaptation and I'm glad I was able to enjoy it even with the terrible pacing and directing. Biased rating from me since I know this adaptation doesn't do the original material any justice with its pacing, but it's an 8/10 from me.

By the end of the episode, my only reaction was ????????????????????????????

If it was me, I would have ended it with a cliffhanger that makes others want to watch more and know what happens next, not with a cliffhanger that makes a very confusing 20min. episode that frustrates others and lowers the quality of the whole anime. I would have ended it in the last episode, and then show a short clip where Oscar is transported to where the tower was and then him asking someone in town what year it is and him realizing he's in the past. And season 2 would have started with this episode.

An anime that would have been a 7-8/10 rating....but with that last episode, even though a 2nd season has already been announced, I'm more inclined to give it a 5/10. -_-

"If they could turn back time, what would they wish for? This is a story where everything can be rewritten."

I think it is pretty clear of what we can expect to see in S2. But I would rather not seeing a loop of "he sacrificed himself to save her, then she sacrificed herself to save him" repeat in a boring way. Hopefully they can cook something nice next time around.

This was a really bad adaptation. Rushed as hell, no time to breathe, and mediocre direction. The manga adaptation is so damn beautiful, the anime is mid-ass hell - doesn't really incite any emotion, even at the sad parts, due to how fast everything is. Too bad, this is one of the anime I was looking forward the most when it was announced.

Ok I finally completed this anime months after starting it-

So much such Season 2 already announced but still much time left for it to release and to know what actually happened after they changed the past. The ending left me speechless.

And the most important thing ~ after watching episode 12 the title of this anime "Unnamed Memory" makes sense; I did assume when the girl was telling Tinasha (the witch) story about time travel that the prince and the witch will be going through something similar but didn’t think it will affect their own personal life ; thought they would affect someone eles's timeline. Well that’s that now only Season 2 can give us a clear view.

I was enjoying the anime and then episode 12 made me all confused.
I see there is season 2, that's fine but I just don't see what I am supposed to think about what I saw in ep. 12 in relation to that information.

He travelled to the past, did some stuff and the crucial moment was about him (and that's always the case when it comes to time travel) saying that he can't travel back to his timeline.

I don't know what were these scenes of Tinasha alone supposed to tell me. Was it the Tinasha from the timeline he just travelled from? I am guessing it's the current young Tinasha's close future though.

Are we abandoning the timeline with Tinasha from 400 years into the future? I have so many questions....

Is that really what happened in the LN? Or did they change it?

Really bittersweet ending. I'm glad she has a bright future ahead of her. A lot of history was lost. They will never get to see each other again. and she became alone in this new story yet again and can only wonder what future she missed on and what would her future husband really be like. All of there stories she will never get to live through herself.

I really enjoyed episodes 1-11, and in hindsight, I should've stopped there. Episode 12 was a complete disaster. XD It's amazing how a good story can get totally wrecked by an animation studio. It reminds me of other disappointments like Hyouka, Katanagatari, and Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, definitely the worst adaptation of the season. This is exactly how a studio earns some serious hate. As for the ending? It wrapped up so "perfectly" that no one even wants to remember it.

What a shame... I think we could have had a real gem (which must be the case in LN) but in anime format too many strange things happened.

It's true that sometimes it seemed like there were missing scenes that linked certain events or important events that happened off-camera. I felt a kind of incomprehension in the way the script unfolded, despite the fact that we understood the main thrust.. It was a very strange feeling. In addition to having story arcs about political conflicts that weren't great, the arc with Lanak wasn't great...

I was expecting a series with more epic adventures against fantastic creatures, visiting exotic, esoteric and fairy-tale places, gradually strengthening the bonds between our 2 protagonists rather than having battles between kingdoms.

Tinasha was good, classy and a real beauty, and you felt a charisma emanating from her when you associated her with the rank of queen. Oscar as a character was a bit of a step back, too serious and lacking in sympathetic features to make it easy to get attached to him. I regret a real lack of cute and/or intimate scenes between the 2, emotionally rich scenes between the 2 to make us think that the couple is perfect. Nevertheless, the last episode raised the level a little, even though we're waiting to see what happens in season 2.

In fact the real problem with the anime is the cruel lack of a good director, I had the impression of seeing Tantei wa Mou again with all its faults (I imagine it was the same team at ENGI), despite a production that seemed healthy, no real direction in the anime, lack of coherence overall, lack of poignant scenes throughout the show, a lack of everything.

It's such a shame, I think we could have had one of the best anime of 2024 in the hands of more competent people.

I still had a good time without getting bored, so it wasn't a disaster as far as I'm concerned.
