The way Homunculus was defeated was very fitting, but really short in a way. Edward giving alchemy and defeating "Truth" was really interesting sacrifice, because that was one thing he had to remind him of his mother. The proposal from Ed to Winry was really cheesy, but most fitting for Ed, that and they had kids! Though I wonder if Al went to Xing to see May...

Overall a good series and I'm glad that I read it!

Spin-off sequel: Fullmetal Alchemist: Ed/Al's Journey, dooo iiiiit~ xD

Tl;dr I don't know if this was as epic an ending as it was possible, but I can't think of any other way that this could have ended without ruining everything ^^;
So, anyway, 10/10, without a doubt, gods this has been an awesome ride~ : >
Looking forward to Arakawa-sensei's next work~

Edit: Even the heavens are crying that FMA is over! :'D (Well, it's raining~)
Edit2: Arakawa, I'm giving you a mission, make your next manga better than FMA. : 3

Such an amazing ending for a legendary manga. Most ends were tied together perfectly.

I loved Eds proposal to Winrey, it was just like him.

I'm not a huge romantic, but I loved the Ed x Winry moment. It was just so cute. So something Ed would do.

Also, why won't the tears stop?! I wasn't expecting such a happy ending, but it was good anyway :D

I can't believe it's all over! arkjgfdhw;rkgdjaagdwjk I'm gonna go reread the last couple of pages..

Massive thanks to Arakawa-sensei for creating the best shounen manga I have ever read or ever will read.
I will miss the month-long waits for a new chapter...
The final chapter is a fitting, if not spectacular, conclusion to FMA and covers most of the loose ends, although I would have liked to see a bit more of the secondary characters (Mustang, Scar, Armstrong, Izumi). FMA also had some great couples in the end: Ed x Winry, Mustang x Hawkeye, Al x Mei

Just one question though, didn't the idea of Ed sacrificing alchemy to bring back Al seem to come out of nowhere? Or was it mentioned before that it was a possibility?

I had no qualms about the ending, for once. Everyone in FMA really deserved it, and I don't suppose Arakawa could've drawn up detailed epilogues for every character, so all in all, I'm happy. It's been a good journey. Also: hot damn Al.

Great ending to a great series really I loved the ending it was perfect even though we didn't get much Royai at the end :( I still and satisfied for the ending. I love Ed's proposal i thought it was funny. A little Seliem was so cute!! And I am happy for everyone too at least Roy got his eyesight back :) I cried at the end cause the series is over...now I feel something died inside lol but it will be missed and I give this series a 10/10! Now it is time to go reread it without waiting for a chapter :)
My Favorite Anime/Manga:

FMA (I support Royai and EdWin!)
Soul Eater
Bleach
Naruto

"It's bad enough he is useless on rainy days" Riza from FMA

I know I might be the target of much hatred for posting this, but that ending wasn't as good as advertised - it was a tad underwhelming. It felt more like an epilogue, and less of a final chapter - 107 pretty much wrapped up the final struggle against Father. This chapter just tied up the loose ends and resolved the characters' respective sub-plots (most of what happened were what fans wanted to see) . Nonetheless, it was a great ride. This was one of the first manga I've read, and I've followed it for the past 4+ years. Certainly one of the best I've laid my eyes on. 9/10 overall.

Yeah, this was definitely more of an epilogue, but over all, 9/10.

You know, I was so incredibly apprehensive for the last chapter of FMA. I mean, I have just read way too many series that are so strong the entire time, but trip right at the finish line.
But this... Damn, I don't think it could have ended any better. It was the perfect ending for a story like Fullmetal Alchemist. (I admit, it probably wouldn't have worked for another story. That last chapter really was more epilogue, but I think it worked really well that way.) Ed exchanging his own alchemy for Al's body rather than use Hoenheim (like I thought he would) fit so well with the entire theme of the manga.
And I agree with everyone's Ed/Winry sentiments. I've never minded the couple, because it was written very well into the story, but that awkward proposal... that just made me completely support that coupling. It was so true to both of their characters.
I also agree though that if I could complain about one thing, it would be that I would have liked just the tiniest bit of decisive Roy/Riza, just solidify it.

Arakawa is undoubtedly one of the most talented authors I have ever read. It makes me feel so empty inside now that the series is done... but... I'm satisfied. Very satisfied with it. ^^

I feel so empty that it's over... But I'm glad it worked out so perfectly. I was a little afraid that a rushed ending could spoil such a wonderfully written series, but it wasn't rushed at all. It was nothing short of "perfect".

Same feeling here. Not really satisfied of the ending.... as I never will be for ANY piece of literature LOL. Just can't get that feeling of satisfaction.... Aria had it. LOGH had it....

But still, 10/10 overall.

Let's see if I have this right:

Ed & Winry have 2 kids (I think).

Al is with May

Lin Yao is emperor with Lan Fan at his side

Scar (we never found out his name) is working for the Isvalans

Havoc is learning to walk

and, I'm not to sure about Roy and Riza....

Either way, an amazing end, I just wished they could've given us more scenes of the future.

An irreplaceable Full Metal Heart.

Funny how Winry was most cute in this final chapter. Kinda sad to see Ed with no alchemy powers. You spent 100 chapters seeing how powerful alchemy was, now he is just a powerless human being. But with that said, he no longer has any need to transmute anymore.

A great end. I miss Full Metal Alchemist already.

I had a feeling Greed was going to disappear after his cheesy line in the last chapter, but it actually doesn't bother me. His exit both helped to saved Ling and let him get back at Father a little more. I'm satisfied with that <3 REALLY can't wait to see it animated.

Anyway this was a nice final chapter. I'm a little disappointed we didn't get to actually see what happened with Mustang, Olivier, Ling, etc. Instead we only hear of their accomplishments and get some nice pictures at the end. Eh. Overall score; 9/10.

Well; anyway, this manga will always, always be my favorite and I'm so very disappointed that it's over, but it was amazing while it lasted. I loved the focus on Al at the end, and besides the no Roy/Riza, it was an extremely cute and well done last chapter.

Maybe we'll get a nice epilogue. :-)

Bleh it was to happy for my taste. I prefer the Shamballa ending better. I would have prefred that Mustang should have been Fuhrer stayed blind but kept it a secret from the people with Hawkeye by his side. I kinda wanted Ed to keep his automail arm but no more alchemy. Let the chimeras have their bodies back, poor guys have been through alot.

The Hohenheim ending was perfect though.

Anyway I hope they make a movie later on. Of course like i said i prefer the Shamballa ending better.

I give this ending a 8.5/10 on my scale.

the Brotherhood series 9.3/10

2003 anime 9/10

I've been reading this series since I was 13 and it's been 5 years. I must say they've been through a lot so it's the ending Ed and Al deserved. As for spin-offs this series should be left alone. I still feel like it's missing something. I can't explain it. I'm not completely satisfied but way more than most endings.

Thank you. It was 3am when I read the last chapter so my mind was in limbo too xD. That makes perfect sense. And I agree too that if Mustang tried to sacrifice his gate, even if he were to return, he cannot use alchemy which is what made him well-known. Now I'm satisfied with this ending. I've been reading this manga for 3 years and now I'll be sad that it's gone. I'll do this manga a favor and add it to my favorites list ;)

My first real fandom arrives at a befitting end. It was a might lack-luster, but for what it was and what it tied up, it was beautiful. I think an epilogue would do marvels for the series, but with where it stands, that probably isn't going to happen.
