@Kimurah "a career that takes several years of training and expertise" the author has already told us that he was a medical student from a young age so he has years of experience and anyone who's paid attention to the screen knows he's not just any idiot, but someone who actually knows what he's talking about. unlike you at the moment, how ironic.

the author has given us a reasonable explanation already, don't blame your lack of basic reading comprehension skills on the author. but don't worry, i don't blame you for your stupidity either, i blame the education system for failures like you. just put two brain cells together for once in your life, and you won't be sweating over this anymore. it's that simple.

You're making cheap strawman based on education system, but you lack the most basic information about any medical career in the first place.

I had a couple of friends back in college that went for medical branches. They had tons of stories about how time demanding and how physically exhausting both the theory parts and the actual practice parts were to the point of leaving no time for sleep or eating. This isn't a career that you can put a pause on it for a couple of years and just resume where you left it, specially if you invested a lot of time in order to gain the vast knowledge of a complex and expensive hobbie such as underground racing.

How many doctors do you know in real life that are great or at the very least good in their own branches that also were semi profesional underground racer during or before becoming a certified doctor? Yeah, I'll answer that for you, none. Specially since you sound like the kind of kid that spends all your time in your mom's basement watching anime and believing EVERYTHING the author says just because he said it, not because it's plausible or in the slightest way relatable.

Looking at your ridiculous amount of posts in such a relatively short time in this site, makes my point more certain of you being a basement dweller that has no contact with the outside world.

Here are the points again so you don't have a lame excuse.

1. Time consumption on a career that requires more years in training than other technical ones.
2. Medical skill learning (handling a scalpel is very different than handling a steering wheel)
3. Implementing new tech in medical fields.
4. Last but not least you providing real data of any doctor that was also a street racer.

@Kimurah jeez fucking christ more roundabouts, get a life. as already said, ryosouke was a medical student, now in his late 40s or early 50s, he has more than enough years to train for that. the other points are redundant and with over two decades, more than enough time to keep adapting to change.
john hinds is a doctor who's a racer? now if you try to degrade motorcycle racing, i'll have the biggest laugh ever.

For starters:

John Hinds specialty was anaesthesia, not surgical procedures, that's a huge difference in skillsets. Secondly there isn't that much story about his pro racing career on the wiki.

Ryosuke could be in his 50s or even 60s but that means jack shit. He lost his early years as a street racer (you know the years where it's more convenient for the body to absorb new data and skillsets). No one in their right mind would get under the scalpel on someone that got their medical certificate in their 40s, specially on the surgeon branch since you need to be in your top shape to have the precise eye hand coordination, shaky hands are just a no-no in the medical field.
