First time following a JoJo part and it didn't disappoint. An outstanding first chapter. I loved the premise which this chapter established. Jodio(Jo + Dio) seems like alternate Giorno(Jo + Dio = Jio) with his age and the time limit of the story(12 days). The stands are as cool as ever. I hope November Rain gets an upgrade so it can do a stand barrage. |

loved the characters, the vibe, the stands, everything is very solid to start here; especially the plot, I love how it feels very similar to part 5 with the organized crime but Araki is able to create a completely new and fresh feeling with a similar concept to start. The concept of mechanisms introduced through Jodio is very profound i can't wait to see how it is explored. The fact that such deep thinking is coming from a 15 year old is wild but I can't be too surprised with him being a Joestar after all. I love his personality so far, I think he'll have some pretty incredible moments later on. Surrounding him with others is a great place to put him in. He doesn't seem very expressive so I can't wait to see how he mingles with others on a mission. |

The only, ONLY problem I have with it, and hopefully it will be apart of the character arc/story is that dragona seems to be trans but is constantly misgendered. Also It was a little distasteful to start out the manga with a police brutality sexual assault scene. Everything else I fucking loved. I love Jodio's stupid ass name being "JoDIO." I love his design and his stand, "November rain" is so fucking cool looking and it's reveal is just orgasmic. The way he puts out his hands and the police officer melts behind him and it's just towering above him. GOD ITS SO COOL. I love smooth operators. The little walle looking mother fuckers and their ability is cool. It's like a more precise diver down. I love dragona's design, she looks like a cool ass character. I love Jodio and Dragona's relationship, they seem like really cool siblings (TFW twin jojo's theory was almost right LOL). I FUCKING LOVE THE JOJO MONOLOGUE ABOUT MECHANISMS. I live and breath this shit. Pseudo philosophical bizarre monologues about abstract concepts tied to one word, "Calamity" "Flow" "Fate" "Gravity" "Mechanism," I love it. I love the implication that (seemingly) one of the highashikatas from part 8 is going to show up and be the target of the heist. AHHHH. If it's Josuke I'm going to freak the fuck out. If it is josuke, I'll be disappointed if he's alone... I need to see him and yashou as a couple god damnnit. I would say Jobin would be cool to see but he's dead. WAIT WHAT IF ITS CHADIFIED JOSHU LOLOLOL. I am so fucking hyped man. dragona's pronouns aren't he/him there are no pronouns or gendered words used for them the entire chapter other than jonadio calling them 兄さん, unlike jonadio who is called 少年` and 彼 straightaway which is clearly a conscious decision. otherwise dragona speaks completely femininely. you can use any pronouns you like for dragona but telling people stuff like this at this point is just false |

NewCountry13 said: iamisaiah said: Beating up cops who were in the process of raping your sibling is absolutely not morally gray in the slightest lol. It's the morally good action.I fuckin loved this chapter. My first observation, and the one that will stick with me, I think, is as compared to the og universe's protags being "good" (even when doing bad shit like Giorno being a mafia member, he won't sell to children), Jodio and the new universe protags actually seem to be like... actually bad, flawed people. Like, this is a realistic depiction of Giorno, a kid in high school selling drugs, beating up cops (even if they're rapey), and planning a heist. It's so fresh to see likeable but genuinely bad people, and my first prediction is I actually think this time, either it will turn out the protags are the bad guys, or Jodio or other members of the party will die. I don't think we'll get a nice "jotaro and group save the world and are righteous" story, and I'm so, so excited to see how it plays out. Also, my only disappointment was it was in fact November Rain, and not November Has Come :( that isn't the morally grey part, this is obviously ok lol. the morally grey part is the cops WERE right (before they started raping which is BAD) about the car not being theirs, and then they burned the evidence of what they did (and arguably killed the cops, if they left them alive there's no shot they won't get identified), they sell drugs and are ok with theft. Pretty morally grey and even arguably just morally bad. My hope would be either they die saving the world/realizing they're the bad guys, or they grow morally as people in the course of trying not to get murdered by magic gravity ghosts. |

That was a pretty exciting and good first chapter. We got to know a bit about Jodio and Dragona, and meet the people they plan to steal the diamond with. I think it's definitely an interesting and fun cast of characters and I'm excited to see how each of them will interact. I really like Jodio and Dragona's bond the most though. I think the stand designs are really cool, but we have yet to see what November Rain can truly do. I personally didn't enjoy the scene with the cops and kind of just wanted it to get over with, but it was pretty important as we got a cool introduction to how these characters act and respond to certain situations, who they are as characters, what kind of place Hawaii is for these characters because we get to see how they have to deal with the cops, it was a good introduction to their stand ability and of course it showed us how they use their abilities. I was more interested in what we saw after that scene, where we got to see Jodio's living situation, and got introduced to Dragona and their mother, the kind of things he does at school, people he works with and deals for and what happens behind the scenes, but most excitingly, we got to see what the main motive right now is, to steal that diamond. I'm very excited to see what happens from all of this. The biggest question of this chapter I have though is, who is this Japanese person who will be staying in Hawaii for 12 days? Will they be able to get this diamond? I sort of thought that the diamond would be how Jodio gets filthy rich, but only less than $40,000? It's still a lot, but I'm anticipating what will make Jodio, FILTHY rich. Excited! |

When I say realistic, what do you think I mean (keep in mind the time distance between when golden wind happens and the fact that Jojolands is occuring in 2020-2022)? Being a bad person isn't more realistic than being a good person. I appreciate your effort, but the comparison I was making was a more realistic depiction of someone "in the mafia" (selling hard drugs at 15) in 2020 (keeping in mind this is a manga and isn't 100% accurate to the real world) than Giorno who was never actually seen doing anything illegal besides stealing money (and presumedly other stuff) and lived in the 1900 somethings? maybe early 2000s at latest? |

Yes!!! Finally!! I can't wait to see how will things start to go bad for them xD! This really looks interesting and I'm sure it will be even better with every new chapter! I love protagonist's name xD JoDIO! I was stunned when they said that Dragona is actually a man lmao! 3 stands are already showed and named and I like it! November rain, I suppose it's that Guns n roses song! Can't wait for the next chapter!! |

This has to be the most well designed JoJo protagonist, especially because of his bangs/fringe hairstyle, although i wish he had long sleeves |
