I don't understand why people have such a problem with non-linearity in this. And with cuts not beying super smooth, I love how fast it switches between scenes.
Direction is absolutely amazing, OST is on fire, visuals are also amazing, wolrd is super crazy and interesting and I like how they are setting the characters.

Loving this, bit of a shame that the visuals are not on par with the story, the plot and the world-building.

Yeah man, me too. The CGI was meh and some shots and cuts were really unimpressive as well. Such a crazy and unique concept deserved a little bit better. If episode 2 had just a little bit of sakuga this episode would jump from a 7/10 to a 9/10

Okay, so they made the giant crab CG, but not the giant hippos? For some reason, this feels rather disrespectful to the hippos. 🦛

This show is dope as fuck. Badass mc, interesting plot with a bit of mystery behind the mushrooms, sick music, and flashily animation. That arrow shot to the snail plane was so clean. Feel like this will be a hidden gem

EDIT: were people not able to follow the time jumps? Pretty obvious one was in the past since Milo wasn’t with them and were on the run

As soon as I realized the creative way they decided to show the flashback between the present time I knew people would cry about it all over the internet and I was right. So many viewers can't take any kind of story telling that's outside the norm. This could be Sonny Boy all over again. This is looking like the potential anime of the season. I forgot there's some legendary staff behind this one.

More exciting than attack of titan. Milo is kinda annoying me though. He acts too much like a little boy and his face is irritating. Everything else- highly entertaining.

this episode got me real confused, I literally thought Bisco had a twin brother because of the bad timeline transitioning (or maybe I wasn't just paying attention haha) but still a great episode, can't wait for more!! Also, the OP & ED were super goooood

I'm starting to like Bisco's overall character esp his tsundere personality (his voice suits him too, A LOT). mf so badass:

More bizzarre stuff and I liked em. Bisco and Pawoo finally came face to face and idk why but I ship em. Maybe cause both of em are badass and have a similar caring personality. Also good to see the old man is doing fine.

Just my opinion, but the episode would have worked much better if it didn't jump between past and present every 5 minutes. It was hard to follow. Just tell us the damn flashbacks and then get back to what's happening right now, it's pretty simple. But no, I've caught myself guessing "is that still a flashback? Is geezer feeling better? Is Milo with them?" for a better half of the episode. Usually I don't have such problem, but this one was all over the places.

The episode itself is pretty okay, I am having fun.

I really like Bisco as MC and the fact that he is lowkey tsundere...

I can't say i'm a big fan of these future and past events just going back and forth.. took me time to finish the episodes due to my adhd getting in the way when a new scene arose. but damn it got fucking good at the end.

I want to like the show but the plot so far is a bit too chaotic. This can work but I need something to bite in next episode. I like the zany. I want something to link it all together. Consequently pace seems relatively slow.

Dr Panda in episode 01 made the story appear much deeper, while with Milo it turned into something very Shounen heavy, especially in the last scene. I hope they can balance this out in the long run.

Once again they kept switching from present to past to present again. I thought they were done with it in episode 1... I hope they don't continue doing it in the next episode too. Well I did get used to the switching so it's not that confusing to me but it's still kinda annoying.

Loved the ED. The OP is too heavy for me but anime wise it's perfect. I'm gonna be more addicted to the ED.

Absolute Banger, blew me away. Way better than expected. Here are the things I want to point out based off of its first 2 episodes:

Story/Plot:
It has a very mysterious but interesting story and plotline, which eventually really had me hooked. We get to see many different shots of the scenery (post apocalyptic wasteland), introduced to world-building, and then get many “random” scenes we don’t know the context of, but then the pieces eventually settle together and we now have a clear idea of what is really up. The plot device for this show is also really interesting, a simple object but shown in such a cool spotlight - the mushroom. Without saying too much, I just want to point out how fascinating and interesting of a concept the mushroom has been made for this series. Absolutely love it.

Characters/VAs:
With just two episodes, our characters have gotten pretty well fleshed out. Our MCs, Bisco and Milo, both have the same goals: To stop the rust disease from spreading and cure the sick. Both doing things in their own ways, Bisco is working and trying to change things from the outside, while Milo is working on the inside. Bisco is aggressive, forceful but courageous while Milo is open minded, wise and faithful. Their characteristic fits very well with their hair colors so the director has done a great job implementing color symbolism into this show. There’s also other characters to mention, but I won’t go too deep on it for now. Last thing I want to mention about the characters is that they’re voiced by an incredible cast of voice-actors.
- Bisco is voiced by Suzuki Ryouta who also voices: Ishigami Yu, Kaguya-sama character - and as we all should know, Kaguya-sama is a show voiced by many very good VAs.

- Milo is voiced by Hanae Natsuki who also voices: Ken Kaneki from TG, Tanjiro from KnY, Ayanokouji from CotE, Odakawa from Odd Taxi, Arima Kousei from YLIA and many more!

- Kurokawa (another chacter) is voiced by Tsuda Kenjirou who also voices: Nanami JJK, to your eternity God, Overhaul mha s4 villain.

There are more to this cast, but those are the main ones I wanted to mention.

Animation and art:
I just wanted to mention the great art and animation as well, because it’s really a treat for the eyes. I don’t know much about the studio working on this show, actually none of us do. And it’s because the studio “OZ” is a newly founded studio and is working on Sabikui Bisco as their first project. I’ve heard they had some people from Ufotable to assist them as well with this project.

Overall
I’m fucking with this shit 100%. Anime of the year potential, most definitely. I’ll for sure continue watching this.

The director said, it was the scriptwriter who shuffled the story. It's the director's fault for allowing the shuffling, but I guess he couldn't resist the veteran writer. This scriptwriter, Murai, is the worst.

"In the same story as the original, Milo wouldn't appear until episode 3."
This is obviously a lie or misunderstanding.
If they follow the original story without shuffling the stories, episode 1 will be BISCO's episode and episode 2 will be MILO's episode. It's a perfect beginning to the story. They didn't need to change or add anything, especially the boring, lame and long women's conversation scene.
The incompetent staff made this anime a failure. sad.

I'm surprised that the animation isn't consistent. You'd think having the guy who was the animation director for the Fate series would make the animation Godly, but apparently that's just a Ufotable thing apparently

I think is because they have a lower budget since is a new studio, but overall I think they knew how to showcase its full potential. Even if the animation is a little stiff it's still well done.

Since when did flashbacks become such a difficult concept for some people?

What? You have a scene with the old man on deaths bed and then it shows him alive and well. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the past and present.

Things are getting clearer now for the better.

Bisco invaded that city in order to find a doctor to help him synthesize a drug to help cure his master's rust. Since it's getting to his lungs, his master has already succumbed to his fate but Bisco is insistent that he gets him the right medicine through Doctor Panda. The governor's troop catch up with them unfortunately leading to the master's death.

Knowing Doctor Panda from episode 1, he will help out Bisco especially considering he's been planning on synthesizing mushroom drugs to help cure his sister's rust. That being said, he might as well tag along with Bisco since the Governor knows Doctor Panda isn't willing to join his side. Doctor Panda's sister is a captain and reenlists to kill Bisco but is surprised to see the Governor's troops split far and wide across the city.

I'm enjoying this change of pace in comparison to the previous episode, there are still a lot of cut-aways from the past to the present events which are so distracting but it is easier to follow.

Mr krabs and motomoto are casted in this series lol. Hippos as cavalry is an interesting concept especially in the barren climate of this dystopian Japan with lack of resources. I thought that crab was talking when it made its entrance out of the trailer.

Good episode.
