| Been waiting for this one, and the first episode surely didn't disappointed. Main is hesitant whether to go for Art school or not which is rather obvious considering you don't have any certainty for future there, just being good in it and having it as an hobby won't take you anywhere in this field, so a really fine first episode. Will definitely check its manga later on. |

| Art class was always chill I didn’t really care much about the class but I do appreciate art in class you just draw what you want or if there was a specific thing to do and laugh at each other’s drawings and talk sometimes it was boring but it depends anyway this was a really good first episode |

| I went into this first episode with high expectations. While I did enjoy some of the art aspects, the animation felt a little disconnected and lacking at times. I am wondering if this is being done on purpose to portray "new eyes" as everything slowly opens up for Yaguchi. I have not read the manga so this is my interpretation of that. |
| Promising start overall. Already liking the MC and the fact of how expressive he is. Not really a fan of the color palette tho. It all looks so... dead. |

| I feel like anime onlies are going to praise the anime. Because they don't have anything to compare it to. And, hopefully, they decide to pick up the manga. Then rewatch the anime. And then understand why several people aren't enjoying the first episode so far. As a manga reader... I fall into the "weak animation" crowd. But it's more than that. The subtitles are wack (and probably because of machine learning translation, I'll give it a pass for now), but the soundtrack is SUPER subpar so far. Another thing that I haven't seen anybody talk about... I don't like the voice actors. Colours are muted and boring - which is so disappointing, as it was something I was really excited to see, since colour panels are very few and far between in the manga. I feel like they failed to capture the tone of the series. Maybe they'll grow on me over time, but I feel quite alienated watching the first episode. The manga is SO much better, it's not even funny. I voted the episode a 3. Just okay. But I really want to give it a 2. It's bordering on dislike. We'll see if these things grow on me. But unfortunately, it seems like we're getting another boring and uninspired Seven Arcs adaptation. *sighs* They really should have gotten a better studio to handle the project. You'll get over it when they introduce Maki. I fully expect a lot of people to rage when they realize Ryuji is a boy. And then I will chuckle more, since that very topic becomes subject later in the story... |

| The first episode I liked that his art direction was excellent taking care of the episode since it began asa that ended the scenes where the camera and I liked that the paintings are a combination of 2D and CGI that was a great success The story I liked because it is not a simple story of a boy falling in love with a girl who is genius in art or a story of extreme rivalry of two geniuses of art but is a story of overcoming a boy than a genius in other areas that He wants to play it to be able to fulfill his dream of being an artist having everything against him for lack of time and experience |

| Personally found the animation style bland, first half was a slog to get through, plus I didn't like the main characters. However ! the second half was much better and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes ! Just wish they'd gone with a more unique animation style... |

I don't really think it's good enough. Especially when you factor in that many animes have their biggest budget and go all out on their first and last episodes. If this is one of their biggest episodes of the season, and it looks this janky as is... prepare for a painful season. Just keep the manga close to you as it will greatly help with the disappointment. |

Don't worry, I already got disappointed on the first episode, I wanted to do a translation for my french friends (I bought 4 tomes), but the adaptation doesn't even follow the manga and skip a lot of line. If you want to study art, might as well be a whore." Random Teacher: "Oh, but did you know that there are prestigious art schools for the elite too?" Protagonist: "…Oh damn. I had no idea. My bad. But who would want to do something they enjoy?" Teacher: "Artists sell their paintings, and you're being an ass." Protagonist: "(Oh damn. She got me good. Now I must art to see what the big deal is.) |

| To be honest, the hype of this got to me, I was expecting a little more but that’s not to say that the episode was bad though. Seeing the MC’s struggle felt genuine and I like how his attitude towards Arts changed over time. It was cool to see that moment of gratification when his friends realised the scenery. Quite the piece that was, btw. I also really liked the interpretation of “talent” and “genius” from the senior. Definitely struck a chord with the MC too. Animation and music wise, it was just about fine and the mood of the episode felt okay, could’ve been better certainly but I’ll take this. Looking forward to more now. |

| It was okay. I had expected more since it was tagged as Seinen. This is still missing good male interesting side chars though. And the motivation of the main char ... felt rushed. He suddenly started to draw cause it was the first thing he liked - besides learning a lot for school? Weird. Could have been better written by the author of the source plot. |
