This final season is KILLING it. I do think some of the cuts to totally new scenes were rough (as in the jumps from one scene to the next didn't feel super natural--probably just a symptom on trying to cover so many chapters in the very few remaining episodes of this remake) but regardless the emotional impact of these last few ep are astounding!!

This is really an amazing ep! It's like the decade or so I've spent since first encountering this story in manga form finally culminated in this very special episode.

To be honest I thought this would be more towards the very last episode of this series. I'm sort of afraid of what's gonna happen next... but for now, LET'S ALL ENJOY THIS SWEET FURUBA MOMENT.

Ahhhhh! So many tears this episode, but they were finally HAPPY ones for all of our sweet zodiac babies! Kyo and Tohru’s reunion just killed me - I’ve been dying to see him rip off that bracelet like we see in the OP all season! And that kiss.. hnnnnggg! <3 I can’t believe we only have 2 episodes left - Mondays will never be the same, sigh.

Idk exactly why, but for some reason this season is just slightly missing the mark for me. I don’t know if this has to to with the source material or the adaptation, but there are times where I feel like things are either happening too fast or going to slow.

Like the actual story of God and the banquet, for example. Incredibly important and adds a bunch to the story in retrospect, but it felt like it was going on forever so the emotional impact was mitigated.

I find this to be my main issue for this season in general. I feel the emotion some, but it isn’t hitting as hard as it is trying to hit.

Ayame hugging mine was sweet, didn't see the confession coming at all, not as if it was hinted, not at all.

It was hinted before in an earlier episode, where Ayame said something to the effect of, "Will you stay by my side forever even if the curse doesn't break?" He wouldn't have to worry about that if they only had a professional relationship.

Love breaks all the curses. Finally the moment we've all been waiting for. Akito lets all of his binds go so they can at least cry with her and share happy memories from now on. Tohru X Kyo couple flew at mach speed this season. Since everyone's curse except for Yuki's is gone, we're gonna get a full episode next with him and Machi? Hell yeah!!
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

can't believe that the original bond was something as.. pure and sad as that, turned into something so toxic and horrible later on. akito being able to let go of something that she thought was her life was really something

still can't believe that their first kiss was whe tohru's dying. ig thats romantic in some sense but kyo couldve been kissing a corpse bro. they're cute tho glad they can be together now

also what happened to shigure..? there were scars on his cheek

I'm dead. This was so beautiful. Tohru and Kyou have officially become a couple and the Zodiac Curse is finally broken. Man... this is really the end, huh?

Such a powerful episode. We finally got the full story behind the origin of the Zodiac bonds and I gotta say it truly was a moving tale. Knowing how it all started as a "well-intended" promise between friends but ended up morphing into a curse/burden through generations was really sad. Not to mention tragic as well, given how the Cat was wrongly misunderstood and ended up being outcasted by the rest as result.

But fortunately, it's all over now and the sequence with Akito releasing each Zodiac member from their bond followed by everyone's reactions was perfectly directed. Ayame confessing his love for Mine was particularly emotional and the same can be said about Kyou finally getting rid of his bracelet with Tohru crying in the background.

And God, Kyou saying that he might be invincible now with Tohru by his side got me so good.

I love this show with all my heart, and this season is really impecable, we’re finally getting to see all the conclusions we’ve beeem waiting for in the most beautiful way. Being able to see basically all the original material adapted is amazing, it doesn’t happen very often with shoujos, so that really makes me happy, and I only got to know the show last year, I imagine how this must feel for those who knew it years ago. Anyway, Fruits Basket deserves the world, it has everything, it’s deep and so ahead in some subjects, romance is beautiful, is freaking funny, also it’s amazing how great the characters get developed.

Tohru and Kyo :') Tohru saying "I love you" really hits, probably because I love her so much. Been dreaming of seeing this episode in particular animated. The Kyoru confession, saying goodbye, and the original banquet were my favourite parts of the manga.

The zodiac spirits are gone, and the Sohma's are free. Saying goodbye to something that's been with you your whole life can be especially painful. It got me a bit teary. Farewell, God.

And the next episode probably covers Yuki saying goodbye to rat spirit and his meeting with Machi. Can't remember what comes next though. Eager for next weekend~ Can't believe it's all over soon.

Was a crying mess the entire episode, but what made me full-on sob was Kyo and Tohru's confession to each other, the long-forgotten tale of the Zodiac, and Kyo finally tearing off his bracelet. Truly a phenomenal episode.

The best, the smoothest episode so far..
All those pain are coming to an end..
It is heartwarming to see how much Akito has changed for the better (her hug with Tohru is the best)..
The fact that Tohru confesses for being able to accept ALL about Kyo and loving for who he is before hugging scene, is the best part in this episode..

Sadly, no shot for Yuki.. Where is he?

They payoff is good. One of the very rare occasions when the adaptation is superior to the source material.

It is far better than the other romance anime that I watched. All characters have decent character development. The atmosphere suddenly got change when the final season came up. I can't wait for the last 2 episodes. It is great anime for me this season (This is my first time to call something in this genre a masterpiece). What a great written work. What do you guys think? It is also in your top romance anime?

So far, I consider this episode, the best episode of season 3 or maybe the whole anime. Finally, after 60 episodes, Tohru and Kyo confess their feelings to each other. It really was a perfect confession. Although I read the manga, the studio was very successful in drawing and the music was very beautiful. During this episode, many events were clarified, for example, why is the cat an outcast? And why the eternal bonds between God and animals? Finally, the dream of constellations and our dream came true, and the curse was lifted. Frankly, the script was very impressive. And the moment Kyu took the bracelet off, unfortunately I couldn't hold back my tears wow wow😭

My heart soared when Kyo & Tohru finally ignored all their troubles, doubts, and the curse and just told one another that they love each other. They have such a beautiful and tender relationship and it's one that allows them to just be themselves unconditionally.

The second half of the episode - look, I read the manga and I was sure I'd be fine but it got me, goddammit! It pulled on my heartstrings & I felt that confusing yet painful sense of loss and uncertainty that the Zodiac Soham's felt. It was a curse but that bond is something they'll never feel again, for better or worse.

I find it quite weird that the cursed sohma's feel lonely when the curse was broken, I get that it was a sacred bond but after what akito did I wouldn't exactly feel the same, like logically if my parents were like akito I wouldn't care less if they bond between us broke but I guess its the fact that the curse was longstanding, so the feeling of that loneliness is foreign plus I haven't been in that situation so it's more of what I think and not what I would do if that makes sense.

I'm sure the sadness is because of the eternal bond, not just towards Akito. Also, remember when Akito was conceived, Shigure, Hatori, Ayame, and Kureno woke up crying and knew that God was reborn. It goes beyond their relationship with Akito. I think it was mentioned when Momiji's or Kureno's bond was broken, that it meant the end of special bond not only with God but also with the other Zodiac members. So, it makes sense that the sudden snap comes to them as strong wave of shock and loneliness.

Ya, I felt the exact same way. I've been saying this for the past 3 episodes but I still wonder how they are going to end it. I'm not going to lie I thought this episode was amazing and we finally got to see all the bonds break but, at the same exact time, there's no more driving plot. The mission at the beginning of this season was to break all the bonds and now all the bonds are broken. I feel like the next 2 episodes are just going to be about paving the future and how people are living their lives say 5/10 years into the future. I kinda wish that they did a long 2 hour special of these last 5 episodes of the series because we all see how it's coming to an end. Might as well get it all done at once so that we can relish in the emotions and the story and not have to lose that waiting for the next episode.

And finally, after all this time for us as viewers and for the characters in-universe, the curse is broken and they are free: seeing Kyo rip off that bracelet, that permanent reminder of the monster he was thanks to the curse, was such a powerful moment. Surprisingly, seeing the origins of the curse and how positive it was intended to be at first was also quite impactful, and in many ways it's a shame that it ended up being corrupted over time until those "bonds" instead became "shackles" to oppress the Zodiacs.

I'm not expect such a religious experience from this anime.

Anyway, I forget how the curse work, what if zodiac of different gender hug each other, will they both turn into animal? If yes, then why Ox is able to have sex with Horse?

Another question, is the doctor ever turn into a Dragon? Did we see it?

The curse only works with Somha x non Sohma. Cursed Sohma can hug each other without transforming. Kagura explains it by hugging Yuki in the first episode of Season 1.

The Doctor did turn into an animal, an hippocampus, in season 1 too. In the manga, Shigure sugggested that the Bond was too ancient and that may explain why the dragon is now just an hippocampus and the Rooster a simple sparrow.

I think the ending is about them figuring out how to move on. The curse breaking is just a first step. The cage door is open now they have to decide in which direction they want to go when they walk out of the cage. It's a scary world, they thought they would always have this bond and live close together, now they have to choose. Kureno has already chosen to leave. Momiji is going to leave. What about the others though? Will any of them stay on the Sohma estate? I think some will.
