I rate Death March higher (barely, mind you) because it planted a couple of worldbuilding tidbits (that, again, were mostly glossed over in the anime) which I hope will pay off in the future. Meanwhile, in Kenja no Mago people are so dumb it took a reincarnated highschooler to figure out

And demon lord may be random stuff happening but at least it was fun.

Kenja no mago is more fun imo, but I guess that's subjective. Either way we have actual romantic development, power development for mc and his classmates, fun characters with personality, the overarching story line of big bad and army of demons vs op mc and his op classmates. And the world-building is quite good too with the 8 kingdoms.

this is what makes Kenja no Mgo entertaining they less focused in the action and event that is happening jokes love and side character interaction is so entertaining. yes i agree some people expect the event more fleshed out nstead the character. but after you accepting that kenja no mago will not doing that it will more entertaining and so much fun.

Just to be clear, I don't really have a problem with Kenja no Mago being fun and a bit dumb (that's the kind of isekai I like), I have a problem with studio Silver Link doing barely passable anime adaptations of these isekai series :/

Also, unlike Demon Lord and Death March, Mago has an interesting main antagonist that drives the plot forward. Oliver Schtrom. Of course, he might not be as cool as Aizen from Bleach or as threatening to the protagonist and company as Voldemort from Harry Potter, but at least Mago has a main antagonist that drives the plot in a significant manner.
I frown at recent installments of Persona and Trails of Cold Steel that introduce harem-like elements in the story.

We need more JRPGs like the past Lunar series, where there are multiple romantic pairings in the party other than for the protagonist and main heroine.

I agree and I hope we get more of Oliver Schtrom and his backstory in the next episode.

Not gonna happen, I would predict that to happen in episode 8 or 9

Even Aizen didn’t have too good of a reason for doing what he did. Schtrom, at least as far as his reason for becoming a bad guy is probably one of the best. No doubt the best isekai antagonist, although it’s not like he has much competition

I like the ED song but not the video part. But still, aren't the OP and ED reversed?! actually I was hoping since the first ep that the OP is epic. What a let-down.

Well, u can't blame them not adapting isekai genre cuz the demand in japan is mecha, mahou shoujo, and shounen after all.

"WHAT FOOLISH ARGUMENTS ARE THOSE?" isekai is more on fun and adventure not finding people to fight. Try to read the LNs youll understand me. Most of the protagonists goals are returning to their world or have fun and do a lot of things in the new world. Who wouldnt want to explore a new world and go on adventure to try new and amazing things.

Great for you. I'm glad to know that a show like this is enough to excite you. Not for me though and many others agree with me and have worse opinions. We all have our likes and dislikes. Also, it's terrible to compare this mediocre show to Mob Psycho 100, which is an absolute masterpiece. Years from now, people will remember Mob Psycho 100 for its iconic characters, wonderful plot and superb animation and only a few people will recall Kenja no Mago. Mark my words. Are you seriously comparing this show to a show that was produced by Studio Bones? You are dismissed.

I don't care who produced it, it's way overrated and kinda boring

Then again, u cant expect everyone with u. After all, everyone has their share of opinions and every genre has its own fans so its really foolish to argue. Why dont u just leave them alone with their fantasies. In the end, ur both the same. U both hate it when othrs criticize ur fave show.

Btw, gotta love the concept though im pretty disappointed on the reincarnation part well over all its a 98 over 100 points.

In this episode, I had a great laugh watching Shin getting jealous at the knight guys courting Sizilien, and Maria’s reaction was funny too.

So was Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody until Silver Link took a huge dump on its' anime adaptation. TBH I wasn't expecting much from Kenja no Mago precisely because of that, but it's annoying how it had a very strong first episode and is gradually going downhill from there. I admit both of these series (in manga/LN form) feel mid-tier (I'd even rate Death March a bit higher) but if even How Not to Summon a Demon Lord can get an adaptation that does not fell like total crap, what the hell is Silver Link doing?

Death march does have a plot it takes a while to actually kick in

Yyyyeah I think this is about as much as I can take. I thought i'd give this show an honest chance but anything interesting I thought it was doing seems to be leaking out.

I knew what I was getting into, isekai with the usual OP protagonist and a kinda generic fantasy setting. But there were elements in earlier episodes I thought would be interesting. The idea of demons forming based on the exacerbation of desires seemed cool, the hero maybe coming off too arrogant in his overpowered form and having to kill another human being would cause some interesting conflict in him. I also thought the idea of using someone's OP nature and their extreme popularity as a bad thing could've led somewhere unusual.

Unfortunately this episode kinda put the nail in that the show wouldn't capitalise on them with more overly arrogant characters made to do the reaction gag to the protag's powers and the side characters really contributing nothing at this point beyond colour commentary. I get some people are into that because of the power fantasy aspect, but i've seen it done a thousand times by now and even better in some other series.

So this is where i'll be stopping. In the end this show is just kind of generic, not particularly bad.

And it's still better than Black Clover since I don't want to put most of the cast on a bonfire.

So, Schtrom controls the Empire. I don't like the whole thing with the knights. The production quality is bad lol.

But the ending was nice, I guess.

Alright, it's nice to watch something one-sided anime like this. It puts you into a good mood. This episode was nice, he showed those foolish knights who's boss.
Didn't bother watching the Ed because Chika dance is superior

Sizilien *shows cleavage*
Male knights: *joins harem*
Male knights: *gain wrath of most powerfull being named Shin*

Rip the demons who felt the unleashing of his wrath

My hopes for this show died as much as the animation died in the ending

No matter how often I see overpowered MCs, I like them. As long as they are not huge wusses, luckily the protagonist isn't one of those.

Half way through now, and this is the episode i remember hating back when I first watched it, mainly due to how it was basically just to make the mages look so good by comparison to the knights, and it looks like the next episode is a continuation of it too so there’s probably more to it that I didn’t like that I’ve yet to see lol. Now the question is do I hate it now? Not near as much at least, this episode anyway, it’s possible the stuff with the other characters in the next episode are what I truly hated and this was just the appetizer but yeah I didn’t dislike it that much, I do still think the way they did the knights is kinda lame tho.

Also it looks like Miria is already a demon, I do remember that happening when I first watched so it makes sense for it to be this early, rip that emperor guy tho, got his whole country finessed because of one double crosser. And lastly it’s interesting to hear the story on the ED on this episode after all these years, so it was because of a contest won by a kid, and I actually like the animation despite it looking a little funky, the dance matched the song, truly a shame so many people hate it tho, not just on the crunch comments but here on MAL as well, it didn’t look that bad lol. It’s also wild seeing that people back in 2019 thought it was copying the Chika Dance ED from Kaguya-sama, as that show was from Winter 2019 and recent in people’s memory, I don’t think that show invented dancing.
