Her running around the corner had crappy cgi backgrounds which moves in a different speed than her and the whole scene doesn’t look realistically because a person doesn’t move with the same constant speed, after the feet hit the ground you become shortly slower, because of friction and then you accelerate. They faked it on her because she bounces, but you can see that on the background, that’s why the whole scene looks fake. Also the angle in which she runs around the corner looks slightly fake. Also what happened to the guy with the green shirt, he suddenly is torn out of the picture.
Then we come to lightning. This is the worst part. Despite having multiple light sources (cars, stars, light reflection on the surface of the water, street lights, etc.) she has hard edged shadows on her even though only slight edge shadows should appear. And her shadows only consist of 3 different colors (ok, many works only have 3 layers). Also you see that she does not project any shadow on the ground and the shadows projected for example from the pillar changes the direction from second 2 to second 5.

You're stupid if you think anyone could take this seriously. Are you actually complaining that a character is not visibly lit by the moonlight bouncing off the water tens of meters below them? This is hand-drawn animation, not physically based 3D ray traced rendering. She's lit correctly by the street lights and the soft ambient light from the sky and city, which are the only two sources that matter in the scene (since headlights don't reach her past the bushes).

Bouncing a character is not "faking it", it's an application of basic animation principles. The camera is moving smoothly at a constant speed, but she's not - she's running on two feet, so each step causes her to bounce slightly in frame. As for "crappy cgi backgrounds" (by the way - yes, it moves at a different speed, that's parallax for you), I can immediately tell you're the kind of person who will complain about absolutely any use of CG in anime no matter how well it's done.

The jump scare were fine. Not too scary. I like short horror stories so it was interesting. I would like to continue to watch more.

I knew before that's gonna be really short so I won't complain about that + it was Skype conversation to it was good. I've never before watched something done with this kind of method so it was a nice change. I laughed at that... creature and noises so I'm not sure if that was the proper reaction, but still - I enjoyed it.

They really messed this up. Using rotoscoping is a bad idea ( didn't they learn from Aku no Hana? ) and 3 minutes per episode isn't enough to tell a good horror story ( same mistake Pupa made ). And as for the webcam, I thought,oh god, it's Paranormal Activity all over again.
To summarize: they combined the worst from Aku no Hana and Pupa with the boringness of Paranormal Activity.

Dude the light reflection of the water is so freaking high that is illuminating. With this illumination hard edged shadows are absolutly impossible. Then the sky changes lighting 3 times in the shot. And not forget the things i mentioned earlier: her not having a shadow over the whole duration. The shadows on the ground are so unconsistend in the whole shot it hurts watching.. now tell me again that the lighing is correct. Everyone who says so has either no idea of lighting or is trolling.

Wow thanks for telling me, them animating her bouncing, is an application of basic animation principles, Sherlock. The fact still remains that this bouncing animtation distracts from the constant speed in which she is moving (not to speak of all the other obstacles that prevent a clear view) what is indeed impossible in real life and therefore looks unrealistic for anyone who pays attention. (not to mention that the animation and her character design has by far lesser quality than what i have posted him and is as well inferior to disney)

And since you are so quick to judge people.. you seem like a person who has no clue what he is talking about. Yeah you may know a few words but you never had to lighten a shot like this or made a realistic animation in which you have to consider all the important factors.
And only for the record.. i would praise anime cgi if it was good, sadly thats only the case on very rare occations.

Rotoscope makes Aku no Hana (one of) best Anime I've ever seen! So TheBigGuy, you're totally off with your critique! You know - animators are using different styles, and many people thinks, me included, that this is good, not bad! Some likes it, some don't - if you're among latter just don't watch Anime made in rotoscope technique!!! It's simple as that!

You like it. That's fine. But my critique still stands. Using different styles is fine, as long as it's suited. In fact, I like it in the movie Mind Game, because of the characters and because it suits the movie and its wacky plot. But in Aku no Hana, it was just out of place and looked really ugly imo.

I really didn't like that. Bad visuals, mediocre audio, and it just wasn't scary. They are obviously going for a found footage thing, but the episodes are so short that I really don't see these having time to build creepy atmosphere and horror based on this first one.
