THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Those scenes in the beginning were brilliant :3 Too bad it wasn't real. But anyways, a short but fun OVA imo. I loved how the group go together again for fun especially with the song. Their outfits are pretty too. I can't wait for season 2 now! |

WTF did I just watch, most of the episode was like something out of an M. Night Shyamalan film. The song is Music S.T.A.R.T and it turned out to be good and the scenery and outfits were perfect for it. |

Did not expect the supernatural theme is for real and I watched the video expecting that it was some misunderstanding disguised as supernatural happening lol And all the amazing is that none of the girls look too shocked to see a loli Maki growing into a high school Maki right before their eyes lol So this is why we see a loli Maki in the PV for the single earlier... I think Maki really got it lucky to be the center for this single because none of the girls who made the center had this privilege of being cast in the main role for an anime OVA - I guess Love Live is successful enough to be given a budget to have such thing done for its single... The beautiful sakuga and all the various troll faces remind me a lot of why I am so fond of Love Live! And they even put in a really adorable cut of Niko x Maki It is just great stuff !! |
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

The bit at the beginning seemed a bit out of place at first, but it soon led to the part of Love Live! I enjoy watching so much- the music. Fun little OVA we got there. |

Meh OVA. I don't know, it felt like an advertising for the single or something. I also skipped the music part (I find the music to be boring [no I don't even know why I started this]). |

What a weird plot that seemed to come out of nowhere. =\ Still, it was nice to see the characters again. The ending song was great too. Also, is it just me, or is did this OVA lag/seem glitchy in places? |

I have posted this on Love Live club, but since many people are confused about the plot I'll give my 2 cents here: It's the concept of "a dream within a dream." Maybe what really happened is the group got a another sleep-over night and they all dreamed the same dream as Maki. That's why no one was surprised by the sudden transformation of loli Maki into a teenage Maki lol. The second dream within it is Maki's nightmare about being captured by shady hood people (8 of them btw. Who knows if they represent the remaining members of Muse in Maki's mind). The concept is about reiterating Maki's feeling of exclusion from the group because of her tsundere personality. Loli Maki is the part of her that loves Muse, loves music, and wants to confess that feelings out loud. Hence, they showed the cut to loli Maki's confession after the transformation. This is not like an OVA, but more like an extended intro to the music video. Thus, you should not view it as continuing content from the anime or as a self-contained wholesome story. It should be combined with the music video to tell the story of their awesome sleep-over party with beautiful dreams :) |

So... what the hell was that? Really, I'm confused. Sudden supernatural theme, Maki seeing loli, Maki being loli, Maki reverting, retarded kokuhaku ("I allways wanted to be an idol" would at least make sense, confession of love made absolutely none) and suddenly MV with generic sugary song. I know, Maki is the best LL next to Kotori but it was so weird I couldn't properly enjoy it despite some really sexy shots of her (dem lips). Also, characters being ooc (neko Umi + everybody except for Maki being absolutely nothing more than generic idol with no personality in the MV), not really something I enjoy. Well, I guess it was pretty. Ehh, 6/10 overall? |

That ending performance was absolutely fantastic! I never really even pay attention to music in anime, but Love Live! just seems to know the formula to making great songs that even I like.
