I didn't expect him to ask for an elopement which took their relationship another step forward.

Pretty sweet short little story, it's a happy ending after all.

I was shocked to see what the father was doing. Really such a terrible parent, but that ending kinda left me wanting maybe just one afterwards chapter. At least they're happy now.

Oo, so Rio's dream is to become a ordinary bride. How sweet ^^

A pleasant yet short series. I'll rate this a 6/10 and dreams can come true if you follow you heart.

This was a great story. Rio so innocent and sweet carrying the burden of an adult at a young age and having a dream of being a bride when she gets older was sweet.
This is one of the best stories I've read even though it was short.

aw. a heavy one for a 12yearold girl. the decisions they took were difficult at that. good manga, even though it only has 5 chapters, it was able to deliver the issues they had to deal with. :) 8/10. :)

I thought the ending was pretty good. Was kinda surprised by the whole secret about their grandfather, thinking it might have turned into a mystery story.

The father should get locked away for child abandonment charges.

Natsuru looked like he was either playing in an official school soccer game, or might have been in one of the Under 1X soccer teams.

Really got the feels close to the end there. A lot packed into just 5 chapters. The only thing that could make this perfect or really feel more complete, would be an epilogue, or further time-skip, where they actually do meet up again...wanted to at least see her face again. But from the looks of her new environment, seems like all we can tell from is she's still at that children's home as they call it (I assume nicer was of saying orphanage, or child-care facility).
Dammit, even just one more page could have done it. Oh well, it was still a good read.

Such a sweet series.. I love it.
I hope Rio and Natsumi can have a bright future ahead of them, they deserve it.
The manga was so greatly drawn that I thought I was there myself.. kudos to the mangaka.
This is certainly a series I will remember for a long time.

Didn't expect that to be the secret though. Need more tall girls in shoujo.

I let go a sigh of relief after that phone call at the end there. I dont think my heart could have taken a sad ending where they had to split.
This was a great manga.

This short was good, predictable but really good :) Almost wanted to have it lasted longer - but that would just kill the ...hm... magic? Doesn't matter it was good and the phone call was the piece that closed it nicely - some mangakas should learn such endings :)

Oh my gooooosh. That was so sad it made me cry. Ugh, and that terrible father! He reminded me of Hiroshi from Michiko to Hatchin, which is about as terrible a father as you can get.
OK, I've stopped crying now. Amazing story. I wish it could have been even longer. 8 or 9 out of 10.

This was a very strong chapter, from the pervious ones it had a lot of dark elements which interconnected the plot points ver beautifully. The ending was a mixture of a really nice bitter sweet ending. Having to be separated and then go so long with out seeing each other but then, finally foreshadowing a reconnection at the end with that phone call. It truly was beautiful.

How did these women knew the full name of Natsuru? since police has brought his mom immediately? even if he told them he was "Nanao Natsuru", to look for a person you have to know the kanji for their name and not just how it sounds. but a person in such situation wouldn't tell people his full name anyway that'd be stupid.
how did Rio survive with her brother? how much exactly their father left? i don't think he'd leave that much since they were already poor as shit when he decided to go. When Rio and Natsuru started to hang out it was already 3 months since her father left and she had a good haircut. why suddenly she is with bad haircut? okay her hair grow slowly. but what is the need for a haircut at all if you can't do it properly? girls are fine with long hair aren't they.
And my main complaint - even if you are 12 surely you can understand that if you call police on your dead grandpa they won't just take you away like that, first they will find your dad. for gods sake. it's easy.

Rio is not brave she is nuts for making her little brother live near the decomposing corpse of their grandpa.
4/10
i knew the "boobie rubbing" in the first chapter was a bad sign.

Hopefully both their wishes come true and they become an ordinary soccer player and bride respectively.

It definitely a movie worthy material if they ever made one. Perfect length, plot and sweet open ending.

Well them keeping in touch was a good sign. I would have liked to see a more conclusive ending personally, but hopefully what was there implied that they would get together when they were older. Frankly, considering all they went through together, I'd be super disappointed if they didn't.

Short but sweet. The beautiful art helped carry it. Overall I give it a 7. Not exceptional but it held my attention. Probably because I liked the themes. It reminded me a lot of Erased. The Gods Lie could have benefited from more chapters or volumes. As I got towards the end I saw the pages dwindling and thought to myself "how are they going to sum this up in so few pages". I found the ending was satisfactory but a bit meh. The author could have done more with it. Even a sequel volume with a time jump romance, if executed well, could have been really cute.

Also, what was with Natsuru rubbing his Mother's breasts in chapter 1?! At 11 years old that's just weird. Maybe it was to demonstrate how he matures during the story... And why did he prefer to call her by her first name rather than Mum? I thought maybe she was actually his sister at first but the story does show she is his Mother.

Short, sweet and entertaining until the very end. This story simpler and more archetype-driven than what would be ideal for a work that aims for realism, but I had a blast reading it. Good manga doesn't have to be ambitious.

EDIT: What are you guys talking about? We saw her face again.

Decent, short and concise. Dunno what the author was a thinking for that grab scene in the first chapter but it reminded me of katachi a bit, clean panels with emotional atmosphere. 6/10.

Honestly, it felt so short. First 3 chapters were pretty much normal fluff stuffs before taking a darker turn, which doesn't really pay off much because we don't see much of development or consequences from it. Kinda a bit disappointed tbh, since I'd expect some development for the MCs than just getting separated and then a time jump.

Rather disappointed, but still glad it didn't go "oyasumi punpun" route xD, the moment she saw her father, I was scared she'd do something...terrible

So the story is basically, a boy saves a girl - the end.
