| I'm loving the old animation! It brings back memories of happier, more carefree days. I actually quite liked the start of this series. I don't know why, But Heero's behaviour towards Relena made me laugh. I think it was just seeing her naive attitude blown away by his amazing bastard power. |

I think it is more of Zechs is a good pilot and Heero was not taking his opponents seriously at the time. |

| You have to long the Char spin-offs in every Gundam series. Quite humorous. A pretty bad first episode, hopefully it gets better. |

| We get some background on the storyline, intro'd to the pilots, get to see their suits, see the antagonist, and meet the main protagonist's love interest. What more could you want? Can't please everyone, I guess. I enjoyed it, it was a nice blast from my past. There's a blog entry on my profile showcasing the birthday invitation scene at the end. Probably the best/funniest moment of that episode. |

| Intelligent tone, high quality animation for its time, Political intrigue, decent action, decent sound track. I can already tell this story takes place in shades of gray. | i'm finally re-watching this after more than 10 years since i last saw the series!!! i couldn't wait for the BD's so i'll settle in with OZC's remastered DVD's ^^ i just notice that my favorite VA: Akio Otsuka is narrating the series! soo awesome!!! Midorikawa, Hikaru voice sounds like a younger version of Ein from Dead or Alive series ^^ and wow the animation and music is still amazing to this day!! love the opening! been listening to Just Communication all week long and it prompted me to re-watch this series ^^ i kinda don't remember the story of Gundam Wing other than some of the battles. the conflict and why they fought i don't remember at all so it's good to rewatch this and learn the story :) also i'm watching this in japanese voices, i originally watched this series in english which is good, but here the voices are much more serious which is amazing! Gundam Wing looks badass as ever! i think Freedom Gundam from Gundam Seed basically stole the concept of the Wings from this series. good to see the other pilots! Duo, Trowa, Quatre, and Wufei! and i also notice Quatre VA is a woman, which is kinda fitting for him tbh :) and that last scene with Heero and Relena! i forgot how much a cold guy Heero is towards Relena XD in any case i expect amazing things from these series!! maybe it might even overtake my current favorite Gundam which is Gundam 00. funny thing is Gundam 00 took alot of concepts in Wing and made it better. but now seeing this, i think Gundam Wing still has it ^^ but we will see! |
| Finally got around to re-watching this one after 12 years. Let's see how it will turn out now that I'm not a kid anymore :) Dat cheesy 90s music though! "I'll kill you!" that's certainly a unique way of confessing to a girl here, Heero! |
| Holy crap I almost fell asleep. Except that ending woke me up. Here's my birthday invitation. Rips the envelope. Then wipes away Relena's tears. THEN says I'll kill you. Talk about mixed signals, but at least that woke me up. This is my second anime from the Gundam franchise, and it definitely didn't hook me in. But since I hear a lot of praise for it and it seems to have a good rating, I will keep watching. |

| Rewatched this first episode. The first time (when it reached France, right after its big US success), I was 13or14 and couldn't believe what I was watching was the show who was always praised in the press (note: it wasn't, they were always talking about 0079/Zeta). My eager expectation crushed, I kept watching and ended up extremely bored by this robots festival. I thought retrying it now 15 years later without the frustration of not getting something different would give the series less disadvantage. But no, this looks even more stupid and trying too hard to be "cool. The only thing Heero brought me was the ability to appreciate Sagara in Full Metal Panic. 2/5 Not sure if I'll rewatch it to the end. |

| I haven't watched this series since it was on Toonami over twenty years ago. I don't remember a lot, only bits and pieces, as I don't think I ever caught the show from the beginning. After watching the first episode, I have to say that it really gripped me right from the start. There are elements of the original Gundam here along with grittier characters and more super mecha in a very 90s way. I can't wait to watch more! |

| K, I'm officially rescuing this from my drop list -- for now -- and watching the whole thing -- maybe. Why not, it's free on YouTube, even officially. I wanted to see this show pretty bad back in the day when it was really popular and hyped up. But no cable so I had to make do with a DVD of episodes 1-4 until a relative stole it. I had friends who really liked it and ended up reading a lot of fanfic of it. It'll be interesting to see what the characters' stories actually are and how well my image of them from said fanfic matches up with how they actually are throughout canon. I'm not expecting much though. This show doesn't seem to be as well remembered as others that got broadcast on US TV in that pre-streaming & widespread high speed internet time. Someone I knew who loved it as a kid told me "I watched Gundam Wing recently and it's just not good." Even Gundam fans I've seen reference this as the "not good" Gundam series. Weird considering how popular it was, at least in anime circles. Time to see what my own experience will be. So, episode 1. Wow, there's a lot of familiar seiyuu. Koyasu Takehito as Zechs, Midorikawa Hikaru as Heero, Seki Tomokazu as Duo. Hella familiar voices to me at this point. The story seems to be setting up a lot. Relena - I don't really get her as a character. She seems to want to be dramatic, but fails. Is she holding back purposefully, for other reasons? Perhaps just missing the opportunity, ha. Heero's "I'll kill you line." Instant classic, lmao. He really seems to be sling shotting poor Relena's emotions all around. On to the next. |

| Finally I actually watch the invitation scene I saw many times in memes haha. Solid first episode, i expect great things from Zechs and the political intrigue in general. The ED sequence with Relena in safari mode was fun. |
