Hitoyoshi's father seems like the typical type of dad you'd find in these type of shows.

As with most episodes, Yuki's chemistry with Hitoyoshi is still a main draw but it's sweet to see the family together. Riko waving goodbye was actually a sad moment imo. She kinda grew on you as a character. Yuki and Hitoyoshi's feelings were display again in the season finale. What an episode, really. Emotions just came pouring out.

Papa Hitoyoshi hasn't even been in the show for a full episode and he's already one of favorites. Truly, gacha machines are the EPITOME of evil. So yeah, just reciprocate that same evilness, and you'll get what you wanted lol. But to think that Papa Hitoyoshi was or still is in the assassin industry or whatever like Yuki was, now that was a big surprise. Even now, I really don't like how they casually talk about Yuki being an assassin like it's something normal. Especially in front of Hitoyoshi's sister no less.

I mean, it's clear that It’s clear the Papa Hitoyoshi has been distant, thinking his son hates him. But the Hitoyoshi still loves him, trying to keep the family together despite not being an adult yet. Papa is pitiful, overwhelmed with guilt. It’s surprising the Hitoyoshi still tries to stay close to him, even though this chapter shows him pushing his papa away to spend more time with Yuki. It’s almost like Yuki is what the Hitoyoshi needs to create a happy family. My heart hurts seeing how cold his father is to him… it’s just so sad.

And way to go, Hitoyoshi! You asked for marriage and kids, but you didn’t even realize it yet. Really loved the rooftop scene. Up til now, I didn't really like Hitoyoshi because of how bland he is, but this episode really just threw that in the trash.... and I love it.

While the middle part of the show was a bit on the slow side, the beginning and this episode I loved the hell out of. I really wouldn't mind a second season to see more of these two progress into a real couple eventually... I would hope <3

The frantic search for Hitoyoshi's birthday present for both Yuki and Naka at the very last minute, and settling on a Gachapon machine to find the item that she needs, it's quite the difficulty.

An unkempt man coming to encourage her to get the prize she wants, and indeed she got it with sheer "killing intent" lols. Meanwhile, Hitoyoshi clearly overslept, didn't realize Yuki being gone until Riko woke him up, with the lingering fear of people not telling him when they left him alone as it is. Clearly the fear within Hitoyoshi to hide Yuki's assassin traits, he has to steel his heart and prepare for what his dad has to say. Indeed, the unkempt man being Hitoyoshi's father who knows he hired a housekeeper for the job, but not expecting Yuki to be Xue herself.

Both father and maid share the same assassin profession, to the point that the conversation becomes a lost cause for Hitoyoshi, but Riko seems normal because she's been following their dad all along. A busy man that Hitoyoshi's father is to visit them for the time allowable, and the son always being kept in the dark for most of his life, finally chooses to speak out. The father telling his own son to live his own life (since he's 16 now), plus Yuki being aggressive to ant to give him his present in her hands (but that which broke under all the pressure), and Hitoyoshi finally being able to speak his own mind to want Yuki to be part of his family, it's a confession regardless, though Yuki's love is more of a familial love than anything. Oh well, she would realize it in time to come.

The show got better as it ages, though perceptive at first, but it slowly won me over.

Solid conclusion! Would've liked some romantic developments but the character development on the part of Hitoyoshi was really good and definitely changed my perspective of his character. The contrast between Riko-chan and his interactions with his father was so obviously highlighted, I was starting to really for him there. It's nice to see that he managed to take a small step to and getting out of his shell, that was sweet.

Rooftop scene was spot-on too! Confession and the feeling's mutual but ... Come on, he should know better, that's not family-zoned, it's just her not realising it's that yet.

For his dad to know so much though, what kind of shady business has he been doing, I wonder.

7/10 from here. A decent chunk of the middle phase got a little stale imo but it was a fun watch overall.

well aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh I mean it was a decent show. The mc was super boring, Yuki was a decent character though. Generally for a show with such a simple premise they done it fine. Nothing special just fine. I don't really get the situation with the mother. Like she left and Hitoyoshi and the dad were sad, Yet the dad's still in contact with the mother in the present day? idk maybe its explained in the manga.

The ending for this season was sweet but at the same time left a lot to be desired. Do I want a season 2? Im fine either way if it gets one ill watch but if it doesn't I really don't care

Overall 6/10

Though I'll say this Riko hard carried a lot of this show she was an amazing character and massive standout. Without her I'd probably drop the rating to a 5 or maybe even 4

With there only being a little over a week to go to the new year irl, having this season end with New Year’s festivities was really nice and an opportunity for a new start for everyone! Especially Hitoyoshi who wants to change the relationship he has with his father. But again, another finale today(Ranma) that felt more like a standard episode than an actual finale like there’s so much more to address and we ended right as it got good 😡

First of all, this really goes to show that you can’t overstate the impact a parent leaving has on a child. Like that shit really is devastating. Seeing Hitoyoshi get so in his head and be afraid of his own father because of a likely misunderstanding was painful. And it doesn’t help that his dad is unaware of how much a 16 year old boy craves his father’s love and attention. I mean you come to town for the first time this year and can’t even stay with your kids for more than a couple hours? Even when he was there, he was mainly talking to Yuki rather than Hitoyoshi. I’m sure there’s a reason for it, but communication would help.

This all but confirms my theory a few weeks ago that Hitoyoshi parents are involved with the assassins guild and that’s probably why the mom left. They probably stay away from the kids to keep them safe and think the less they know the better, but that might not be true.

“I love you” only Hitoyoshi could turn what should’ve been a really cute way to end the season with both he and Yuki coming clean, into a friendzone moment lmao. But I can’t even be too mad at him because again he has a ton of emotional issues and your mom walking out on you will cast doubt on your relationship with any woman. Also having no parents around probably just makes you question anyone’s love. Also, no mention of what Nitta found in China with Yuki’s sister??? Enjoyed this show a lot for what it was, but I want more!

It just had to be Morikawa Toshiyuki voicing the father lol. Could guess his personality the moment I heard his voice. Now this makes me wonder why did the two of them break up as it seems he's still in contact with her and the kids are free to do whatever they want. He's still even wearing the ring. Real curious. Also now it makes sense why Yuki came to Yokoya's place to get hired. It was arranged by her mentor with his father.

Anyway back to Yokoya. He's had a lot going in his life and it's been complicated so I understand the distance with his father but he took that first step finally to move forward and his father catched onto it too. Yokoya finally confessed too but that felt heartbreaking as their love might not be the same or that's what he thinks cause Yuki's sure starting to feel the same kinda love alright. Quite a cliffhanger to end the season with. Time to get back into the manga and hope for a second season.

Glad that Hitoyoshi and his father are on good terms and I'm glad that his appearance makes Hitoyoshi's story more in-depth.

Yuki is no longer the murderer we knew at the beginning, she has now changed into a normal girl. I loved the best part when they were on the roof, I'm really amazed that their relationship has grown this fast.

Yuki really has to stay forever at Hitoyoshi's house since Hitoyoshi's father has allowed it, so yeah I'm looking forward to their relationship until the end.

A pretty sweet end to this one. Hitoyoshi’s dad turned out to be pretty chill, I was expecting him to be more serious because of Hitoyoshi’s view of him but after the backstory it makes a lot more sense why Hitoyoshi sees him the way he does, and along with this we found out Yuki ended up at Hitoyoshi’s doorstep because of his dad, not sure what shady business he’s a part of but that’s at least one big mystery solved here at the end. And I was happy that Hitoyoshi finally got to talk with his dad, bro was in the car already but he finally managed to get the words out.

And the rooftop scene with Yuki afterward was so good, I thought she broke that gacha figure at first but it looks like it could just go back together lol, and we kinda got a confession here where the two said they loved each other, but poor Hitoyoshi took it the wrong way seems like, it’s really interesting that a confession where the two feel the same turned out that way, but the very last scene of the episode makes me wonder how Yuki really feels, I like that they left it a bit ambiguous there and didn’t spell it out, I think that made for a great end to the anime.

And that was the killer maid anime, this one really came at a perfect time for me, we had just come off of a Saturday romance anime I really liked called “My Wife Has No Emotion” and then came this one that filled the void that one left, and I’d say it did a really good job at it, definitely one of my favorite shows of the season. Yeah there were a handful of things I wasn’t the biggest fan of like the school festival episode or Hitoyoshi near the end, but overall it was a really sweet and fun watch thanks to Yuki and her mix of cute and badass moments, as well as her learning to live normally over the course of the show, and also the great side characters like Riko and Grace/Nitta, they really helped make this one special. OP and ED were also absolute bangers, both had cool unique visuals to go with the amazing songs, I can easily say they were favorites of mine this fall season.

And I really hope this one can get a Season 2 one day, I really want to see where things go between Hitoyoshi and Yuki from here, or if any other assassins show up to complicate things, I thought after Nitta that there would be more but there never was lol.

Well, that was it. It left me like a football game, when your team goals but the referee cancels that goal.

While it was a good and sweet story, it doesn't look like that's all of it. I feel it was better than the couple of the travel agency, but no more of a 7/10 since there are many things left open. And there will be a ton of things I won't know for sure unless I open the manga.

Anyway, it was a good one. Happy to see a smiling Yuki, that's far more important.

What a coincidence that the father met Yuki before he arrived, glad she got what she wanted from that machine.
The father had a pretty good personality, Riko is a very cheerful person like him.
A confession of love, but unfortunately Yuki didn't quite understand, or maybe she did after what we saw in the morning after.

Good anime from start to finish 7/10

tbh i hate this kind of ending cause when things start to get enjoyable, it seems that its always cut short, and i didnt really quite get the whole train passage light with the heartbeat sound, does this have some kind of hidden meaning or something?

the main reason why i hate this stuff is that we never know if we are actually going to see those characters ever again, so leaving things as it is, gives off a horrible sense of incompleteness, i mean of course, we can always go and read the manga (which i am probably going to do), but i would rather prefer to watch the anime

well, hoping for a second season, from mid to the end this show became very sweet and wholesome, im going to miss it

awesome! :D just lovely! now... we need to find out why Hitoyoshi's mom abandoned him but still lives in the same town and kept his little sister Riko with her... i've got a sneaking suspicion that mom stepped out... Riko has a different dad... and Mr. Yokoya threw his wife out along with her daughter.

we also need to learn more about Yuki's life as a prodigy child and how she and her lil sister were stolen or whatever happened etc.

i swear that dog of theirs is freaking ADORBS! especially that bit when it was snowing all night and the dog ran straight off the back deck and did a bellyflop into the snow! hahahah! :D i totally had to pause that episode and laugh... then i rewound it and watched it five more times still laughing! :D

well, here's hoping a S2 announcement pops up soon! :D

@SoulReaper85 That is simply not true at all.

The anime ends at manga chapter 34, so far 54 chapters have been released in total.

So no, anime definitely reached those parts but the story for anime was tamed down a lot.

Just to give you an example, since this is hardly a major spoiler - Grace is heavy smoker in manga and in anime they swapped that for lollipops. That is how tamed anime is when compared to manga.

That non-ending left me with this impression of the show.

2 "broken" characters, with completely unexplained and hard to swallow back stories are brought together to "fix" each other, but they will leave us with no clue to what lead to their backstories.

For some reason Hitoyoshi, as a very young child, should have been expected to ask his dad why his family split up for no apparent reason, why his sister lives with the mom, but he is forced to live at the dad's place basically alone while the dad travels? For some reason we needed Yuki to come in and "fix" him, when maybe the dad could have done that himself by talking to Hitoyoshi?

Somehow as a famous child prodigy, Yuki's parents' murders and her abduction just got forgotten by the world?

@TheColonel76 you gotta start reading
Definitely something I might do eventually, I’m just not a big manga reader generally, but if a season 2 never comes then I will probably read ahead one day.
@TheColonel76 s2 not coming
It's a niche series and adapted most of the material available

@SoulReaper85 That is simply not true at all.

The anime ends at manga chapter 34, so far 54 chapters have been released in total.

So no, anime definitely reached those parts but the story for anime was tamed down a lot.

Just to give you an example, since this is hardly a major spoiler - Grace is heavy smoker in manga and in anime they swapped that for lollipops. That is how tamed anime is when compared to manga.

@BrotherCoa yeah what they had going for the Adaptation they probably couldn't fit that in to the show

Huh... 2nd season... right? Because that's the weirdest and most unreasonable ending I could have ever thought of.
Pretend there's something flashy and cool here.

While the show overall was good I felt that the ending was a bit flat and confusing since Hitoyoshi went into his room after he and Yuki were on the rooftop and began crying after he confessed saying he had suffered a heartbreak. Based on his reaction I thought maybe Yuki shot him down but I think it's in his head that she only likes him as a family member or maybe it was due to her reaction not being as exciting as he had hoped. On that note when she was slicing cabbage and stopped I think maybe she had an epiphany of what Hitoyoshi had said.

Hopefully a 2nd season is announced at some point as there's also the mystery of Yuki's long lost sister and Grace investigating it.

7/10

Fairly disappointing after a solid start. Not much happens.

WOW! That ending was crazy good! I hope if they make a S2 that it advances more into that love story but I honestly wouldn't mind the family life either! Hopefully Hitoyoshi doesn't fumble!!!

O show é um 7/10 particularmente
