Welp I guess this is it... I first started TomoGame back in college because of the whole “death game” shtick and liked it so much I read the entire thing in two days. Compared to manga like Real Account it was on a whole different level (I still think so). I am glad that author toned down on useless fanservice and cheap shock from DeadTube. But, sad to say, the second half looks extremely lacking to me personally. Games became very boring and don’t even start on the final arc… it overstayed its welcome and should be cut in half or more. To me the finale should have been the most unexpected and insane game, instead we've got, what, 30 chapters of blahblahblah? What I like about stories like Kaiji, is that MC can lose. In Tomodachi Game Yuuichi can't lose. It's always his grand master plan, he predicted everything and there's no real danger, stakes a bit low (but it's not really a bad thing, still entertaining to read how he outsmarts everyone). Except the bullet. Somehow couldn't predict that provoking a guy with a gun can result in getting shot XDD With all that said, I think the final chapter is the best final chapter possible in this scenario. It's touching, it's wrapped, I guess, everything. All the questions were answered. Yuuichi will remain one of the best and complex characters out there, especially after Kei's analysis on his "double gaming", which is an interesting technique, never heard about it... This manga had everything to become a modern masterpiece but I think it's still VERY very solid, 8/10. Will definitely re-read Prison Arc, my favorite one |

@shtzt I dunno what to tell you, it's not 10/10 and completely fell off. Lainer Arc was okay. Even good. Battle Royale Forest was mid. Had its moments. Cabin BlahBlah arc was straight up garbage. Arcs before that vary from "very good" to "masterpiece" |

This series was great. Even though it had its ups and downs and definitely fell off near the end, it always had you guessing and invested in the characters also the art was always stellar. Overall rating: 8.5/10 !(^o^)! |

don't really know how to feel about the manga ending it's been a long journey but the final game could have been a bit shorter but i guess the author made it that long to get everything laid out other than that most of all the questions have been answered and now i guess we wait to see if season 2 will be happening sometime in the future if that will happen though it should but only time will tell |

@KetchupSpice I do think the last arc was just okay, Maybe not good as the rest but it was fine, And the reason you think it was ass is because you had to wait one month on every single chapter. Which SURPRISINGLY gives you a lot of time to analyze the chapters and eventually you'll get bored with each chapter coming out, Just like i did There were a lot of ppl hating on it because of this reason alone. |

Damn, it seems I was right all along in Yuka being the biggest manipulator of the series. Reading the read backstory does also add more to Yuichi’s character. I also loved how his friends’ answer was that they didn’t know what to do. They obviously have been friends with him for a long time but also can’t forget or forgive the acts he’s done. While I would believe it would be more realistic for them to cut off contact with him (as humans can’t forgive having their life dictated by someone else and ruined), it also realistic in a way that they’re still kids and they probably haven’t developed that “hatred for life” type of emotion. Children do tend to forgive things that have happened easier than adults. I liked how in the end all they could say was that they don’t know if Yuichi deserves to live or not, they just want him to live. It may seem like a very boring ending since there was no final battle or one last gamble, but people need to realize that tomodachi game was already over with the end of Boss. The last chapters did have the final battle, the more important one. The topic was also the reason Boss started tomodachi game in first place. “Would other people choose money over their friends” that’s what this last chapter was. They gave the long wanted answer. They chose their friend over the money, despite who that friend was. Manabu also stated at the end of the last game that the whole essence of the game was that the one who is able to keep their friends after all the events that’s happened are the ones who will win the game. Basically tomodachi game is a game of trust and not deception. This final chapter nicely showed that. While I do believe the author could’ve done way better in some chapters, these final few chapters are not some of them. These have been almost perfect. It was a great ride. |

Pros: -Author didnt attempt to whitewash yuuichi by pinning the murders on someone else or by coming up with a flimsy excuse to justify the murder of an unborn child. -Kei and satone were cute. Cons: -Extremely predictable. This would've been fine had the author not insisted on dragging this out by 20+ chapters just to reach a conclusion that everyone had already expected. -For a character that was supposed to be the catalyst for this whole thing yuka was simply uninteresting. Characters that pretend to be nice but deep down only care about money? There were already a dozen of those. There's nothing that made yuka stood out among these swindlers whatsoever aside from the author telling us that she put on a really really convincing act. -Yutori became a total NPC and went along with everything without any questions. Like we're supposed to forget how much of an unstable two-faced trainwreck she was throughout the last two arcs and just accept that she overcame her severe issues via muh friendship. Obviously the author didn't bother to show more of her thoughts because he couldn't come up with anything convincing lmao. Overall an okay conclusion to an arc that overstayed its welcome by at least a year and a manga that failed to uphold its illusion of stakes a long time ago due to the author's inability to wrap up an arc in any other way aside from having yuuichi go keikaku doori and win. |

What a disappointing ending for an also the worst arc of the series. The problem is that the author raised the stake too high in previous chapters and at the same time most likely didn't come up with any ingenious ideas but rather struggled to make a proper outcome to connect all the dots. As a matter of course, it results in convenient writing that just rehashes the worn-out imposter tropes. Almost everything is predictable, at least to me: Yuuichi's secret mission, the Boss' identity, the third person Yuuichi killed, Yuuichi's motivation, etc. It still makes sense but in a contrived and heavy-handed way, very far from my high expectation. |

@DespairAwaits Yes, when the author mentioned the true traitor in the last chapter, I knew it's gonna be her. When almost every card is put on the table, it's just a simple deduction by the process of elimination, there is none other than her who can fit that role. |

That was a great ending, I didn’t think the author would be able to wrap it all in one chapter but he really managed to. Virtually no questions are left unanswered. It is really mechanically and thematically fitting that Group C take on even more debt for their friend to atone for misjudging him the entire story. I’m glad Yuuichi’s friendship wasn’t one-sided and not satisfied by some Disney-esque ending. They all also went down their own career paths, influenced by the experiences, choices, and people they met in the game, and different from what they originally set out for, no longer following in their parents’ footsteps and thus breaking the generational trauma and karmic cycle of sin. The Yuka twist and mysteries in general were very well constructed, there were boatloads of foreshadowing regarding Yutori, Yuuichi, Masakazu, and Yuka. The twist also redefines Yuuichi’s entire character phenomenally. Tomodachi game is an interesting case study where people always want something to blame to not face their own terrible personalities and actions, and Yuuichi was their scapegoat for that, being the most seemingly culpable, selfish, and evil character in the story when at his core he was always someone who tried to play the scumbag for other people’s sake at cost to himself (indicative of self-loathing and guilt that wasn’t even entirely his fault) and was groomed to do bad things, yet still by his own will assumed responsibility for his actions and atoned his whole life. Ultimately, friendship, in which people are able to accept each other’s bad sides through a myriad of conflicts and misunderstandings, prevailed over money as well. I do think the final arc’s game wasn’t utilized the best and its cast wasn’t that interesting but the big mysteries and plotlines have been handled superbly. Imo, to enjoy the final arc to its fullest, you had to be actively theorizing and solving the mysteries, and most of all be invested in it and Yuuichi’s character. The reveals and having been able to solve every single one of them were satisfying for me. I will miss this series greatly. Yuuichi is one of the best manga protagonists I had the pleasure of reading. |

@DespairAwaits Then why did she turn out to be a lame psychopath? Why did she lie about her heart condition? Is there any hint or foreshadowing about Yuka's true personality in previous chapters? The author creates convenient writing throughout this whole arc so he can pull out the uno reverse card at any time he wants. It's like you clench your fists and ask people to choose the hand you're about to open. No matter which one they pick, you'll always open the other. The only plausible answer is to whitewash Yuuichi's homicide behavior. If Yuka is truly scrupulous then Yuuichi is indeed a selfish and ignorant child but with the last revelation, he looks like a victim of betrayal now. |

@kizumi91 she never lied about her heart condition though. If you were actually paying attention, p. 43 clearly shows her asking for her heart medication from Yuichi. She only used her condition to pull one over her friends. Furthermore, you raise the issue of there having been no foreshadowing to Yuka's true personality. This is simply false, as when reveals about Yuichi's friend's parents came out, one could only wonder how extrinsically coincidental everything seemed and come to the conclusion that Yuka and Taizen were collaborators as there's very little coincidence and plot convenience in this manga. |

Pretty good final chapter. I enjoyed this. I might need to reread this sometime but for now, it's a solid 8/10. Solid ending. So many manga's just mess up at the end so just for getting to that last step and not messing it up it's better than most other manga. |

@DespairAwaits Yes she did, the heart condition wasn't incurable as it's supposed to be but she acted like she only had few days to live. I also don't get which p.43 you referred to because when I were looking up it's this page instead The part where Yuka and Taizen collab or not doesn't relate to the matter I addressed. The point is why did she have to be a liar in the first place, there's no deep shit or reasonable motivation here. Remember when Yuka told Yuuichi "Friend is more important than money" mentioned several times in the Manga, why did it turn out to be a fraud from her? How does this detail contribute to the whole story in general? It just feels so sudden and arbitrary with the only purpose of pulling the last uno reverse card. I don't think there's any better explanation than the one I posted. |

@kizumi91 well i guess her lying about the fatal heart condition is somewhat obvious. It's to create a false sense of urgency, and to make the scam more effective. I also meant page 44 my apologies. And i mean, why couldn't she just have been a liar, or a scammer. There doesn't really need to be a sensible explanation to her being a liar other than she's poor and is money motivated. Also, it was necessary for Yuichi to have had two mentors. One who would feed him with nefarious teachings and the other with good morals |

@DespairAwaits Sorry if you get the wrong idea from my words. I didn't insist that she can't be a liar or a scammer but the issue is the execution itself. The ending feels like the author just came up with in the last minute. As I stated above, it still makes sense but in a very contrived way. All the good tropes slowly wear out when it's reused and rehashed for the umpteenth time. Compared to previous arcs where every single revelation results in a surprised Pikachu face, this arc almost has none of such moments. Well, I don't mean to ruin your enjoyment because people's opinions vary greatly but I personally think it could have been a lot better. |

@kizumi91 well, i guess we can agree to disagree. I will agree that this revelation didn't garner a surprising reaction from me as compared to other revelations in the manga, but i still enjoyed it. I guess it just comes down to our respective expectations |

Glad it's finally over. I first started this back in freshman year of high school. Now I'm a working adult. It's insane how much time has passed since then and how my perspective as a person grew with it. At first, I loved this manga and found it really interesting and fun. Now, I was waiting every single month for it to actually end. I'm not sure if it's because I grew up or what but it just feels like the last 3 years or so worth of chapters were so painful to read. The writing felt very bad. It felt like the story was just getting stretched for no reason. Retcons were happening everywhere left and right. Even in the final chapter, it felt like things were stretching for no reason. Overall, I'd rather keep my fons memories of the first few years reading this than trying to remember how painful it was too get through those last few chapters. Don't think I'd recommend this manga for someone else, but part of me also feels glad I got to experience it. Let's see what the supposed epilogue chapter coming out in 2 months will have. |

over all great series but i cant lie the overall reason for everything was pretty underwhelming to say the least and then the final page just left me wanting to know what happens now that he's up ect but besides that everything else leading up to this was amazing but again the overall ending was extremely underwhelming |

its wrapped! i've got a mixed feelings for the second-half of this serie, it's written in a long-winded, and the twist is repetitive because all the twists are caused by yuichi's secrets again. but it's a good journey, also it's the panel sometimes shockingly showing a good art, yamaguchi mikoto learns something; that he doesn't exploit the sexual violence and the fan service as much in Dead Tube. |
