Shindou putting on that charming face to Mio looked like a meme. The finale decided to throw Date a Live style humor lul Jokes aside, Shinou truly made a lot of memories this season. He also took the responsibility to restore everything back in order. Everyone depended on him to defeat Issac. The outcome was predictable with Issac's defeat. I guess they were trying to sell the emotional elements than the battle itself. At least we did find out his motivations this season and background story. This season had a bittersweet ending imo. |

Lame guy with his superpowers just can’t let a minute pass without… presenting them in the most lame way possible. I mean we were going good with the Mio/Shin/Shido stuff, but yeah Westcott had to come and ruin it all. Though yeah, in a way the same Mio who was mercilessly killing all these spirits just a few episodes ago was ultimately the one who helped seal the deal. The entire Ain sequence was… brutal to say the least, both emotionally and in the perspective of result. Nia was useful(!), Westcott is gone for good, and so is Mio. Still felt it when Mio’s sephira appeared and Shido could just cry out:( In the end, feelings for this series have kind of drastically changed for me from the latter half of the last season tbh. Watching this used to be such a drag if anything, and they are to blame for that, I mean being the most cliche harem out there, or at least among the most, they never really cared about anything other than girls falling for Shido just from him breathing. So yeah, when they focussed on story, it became decent enough. This felt like a genuine ending, except there's still things to come. Now to whenever this will come back. |

The final battle against Westcott at last. Dude Shidou thought he was spitting game at Mio. No buddy LMAOOOO. Nah but fr, this is the most I've seen Shidou try to get one of the spirits thus far. Though ofc, with Mio finally in Shidou's hands and the big bad defeated, another big bad, an annoying one at that, Westcott just has to come and be the most annoying he's ever been. So it's only right that all the spirits finally come together in the most Avengers shot ever lol, and go an beat this bitch ass Westcott at last. Maria's also back after so long as well. AND THAT FUCKING SHIDOU PUNCH SENDING WESTCOTT FLYING... my god did it feel good. Wasn't enough ofc, but Mio being a new contender for best girl just goes absolutely bonkers on him and fucking defeating him for good. Making me try to feel sorry and sad for him. Fuck you. Was smiling the entire time during his death scene. I won't sit here and lie and say that the final montage of all the girls didn't make me tear up a bit, because it did. A whole decade we've been with these girls... fuck man. Ending it off just like how we started, a date between Shidou and the original spirit Tohka. Pacing was the biggest issue this season, I mean they adapted 200 PAGES in one episode this season, but in the end, they stcuk the landing somehow. I'll miss you dearly DAL. This past decade has been a ride, to say the least. |

Date a Live V what a ride you were. The best this franchise has ever been and I’m so sad it’s over, but that was a beautiful finale that was narratively and thematically satisfying. Tears were shed at the end. Mio, you can finally be with your beloved ❤️ Congrats to everyone who came together to make this season happen. Could feel the love and passion that the studio and staff put into this. Was skeptical about wrapping everything up in one episode, but this had it all! Starting off in Mio’s pocket dimension, the idea of Shido and Shin going Rizz for Rizz for Mio had me laughing so hard lmao. I was happy Shin actually told her he wanted her to move on and be happy and see new things. As I been saying after the last few eps, no way he’d want her continuing on this path, and having that verbalised had to feel like a tremendous weight off her shoulders. Of course here come this loser Westcott ruining a great moment with yet another diabolical magic experiment gone wrong. At least that gave us a chance to see all the girls fighting together for the first time this season, even Nia back in the fight! Wish it wasn’t all cgi but oh well. Mio’s sacrifice broke me man, but at the same time it’s thematically consistent. Mio started the episode by saying “Perhaps I truly did want to die this whole time” it’s no way she could ever let go of shin, so it’s fitting she saves Shido’s world and gets her reunion with her first love finally. “You finally got to see Shin” 😭not a dry eye in the show or watching. Just beautiful, man. That ending looked conclusive, but there’s still more to the story so I’m not sure. Honestly feels so good I almost want it left there because I’m not sure if the actual ending will be as good lol. Date a Live is kind of the last of a dying breed of that early 2000s/2010s urban fantasy genre. Strike the blood, Mahouka, Toaru, etc. :/ fun ride tho |

For a final episode, it's great! So much action....and emotion!! the animation was really beautiful for this episode! And the end, so many pictures that remind LN readers of the following volume, I loved this wink! the pictures of kurumi with sawa and the cats, it's incredible, as a reader it touched me a lot, like tohka because the story in the next volume is really sad. A MASTERCLASS from start to finish this season!! Magnificent conclusion |

this was a certified hood classic. I would love a season 6 (or a movie) to cover everything that is left, however the way the ended the anime, made it look like the end. so they may just leave it at that. |

well, Ike never became the greatest villain ever like some of you glazed him to be but wcyd i guess this season was a serious stepdown from IV, but most series never end on a high note so its not like i mind it i guess it just shows the age of the series with how predictable everything is, it did end in 2020 but the series is like 14 or 15 yo at this point although i make it sound like i hated it, its okay, still enjoyed it looking forward if Geek Toys animate King's Proposal, theyre the best fit for it (although mostly because i love Kurara's design) |

Umm I am a little bit confused… I read the light novel back 4 years ago And I don’t care about spoilers cause the novel is very different from the anime…. In the novel after mío and Ike fight and die Every one becomes human… and tohka disappears… And then the final chapters are about an alternate tohka called beast that comes into the current time line … So I don’t know what geek toys have done but… not what I expected… Non the less its a fifth season I guess within the franchise so oh well was a good trip I doubt their will be a sixth season Or even a movie or continuation…. If they didn’t adapt from the light novel the ending… of that arc properly I doubt they’ll be continuing…. |

Maria finally got a body, been waiting for this. That pokemon gag lmao. Mio/Reine didn't make it after all. Together in death but she'll be finally with Shin for eternity. Just wish there was a happier end for them. Love her so much. Got emotional watching Shido and others cry. Oh yeah and Westcott finally met his end. Wonder what Ellen, Elliot and Karen will do from here on. Was nice to see the girls again in the ending sequence enjoying their time. Wonderful season and probably date a live at it's best. Hope they'll announce the final season soon. Looking forward to it and once again Mio/Reine best girl. |

This episode was really wholesome. The animation was masterpiece, OP and ED were masterpiece, overall adaptation of light novel was masterpiece, in short overall season was masterpiece. I am glad that Date a live got another season. The whole story was really great and I enjoyed it a lot. This episode made me tear up when Mio sacrificed herself, it was really heartbreaking. The sephirah left by Mio was a real cliffhanger and I am really hoping that they make another season because there is enough source material to adapt another season. This season was a perfect 10/10 for me. |

Amidst all the changes, (obvious) flaws and slight incompleteness, I am still going to give this a 8. Relative grading a series is hard, and I'll give it a high score because that's how much of a soft spot I have for the franchise. I like that they kept Westcott's ending intact. At the end he realized the biggest source of joy for him was to see his friends in despair while he dies. "It was so easy". Truly a standout character and one of my favorite LN villains for good reason. "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to retaliate. Thank you for giving me a reason for slaughtering you. I want revenge. Thank you for giving me a motive for revenge. I will change this world. T͏hank you for making me a victim." And in parallel, Mio's end was abrupt but pretty decently executed, with the emphasis on her reunion to the one she has been always faithful to. The world had no place for the god or the devil... Shido's va put some of the best performances ever. Visually it was nothing outstanding, but they did what they could. It's difficult to know how much outsourcing the studio did or how much time they were given... That Tohka shot at the end is pure Vol 20 ptsd, novel readers will know. Maybe we'll never get an adaptation, but I have seen surprises... |

This was the most impactful Date a Live episode I've ever seen!! That part where Shido tried to charm Mio was so weird when they changed his look into a dating sim character haha🤣, and Shinji acting protective of Mio was actually sweet! The final battle between everyone and Isaac was so epic, everyone calling out their angels, seeing Maria in a spirit body with Nia's regained powers, and just seeing Shido sucker punch Isaac was just a sight to behold. Mio's sacrifice was very tearful, but at least she reunited with Shinji in the after life, though I wanted them to see them kiss lol. Mio and Reine, we've lost two great people, but they will be remembered. It's really a shame that this series has ended, it is one of my favorite anime's, I even hope along with other fans that there'd be another movie or OVA in the making. |

Instead of a kiss, both Shido and Mio joined hands to face Westcott, who has now become a Spirit himself, and the biggest ally to alliance with all 10 Spirits to stop the world from being rewritten. Even Maria joined the battle now as a pseudo-Spirit thanks to Nia, leaving Shido enough space to fight against Westcott, who evolves from human to being. Truthfully, he could've faced it, but letting Mio tackle his Qemetiel is the only logical step since she is affiliated with him, Ellen and the rest in her creation as Deus. Even then, the extreme powers of an Angel and a Demon King cancelling each other out, Westcott's stake and luck has clearly run out, as Elliot and Karen saw him in his dying stages.
In the end, Mio was the only Spirit that Shido couldn't obtain, and her preference to Shin was her True End, which is quite fitting.
Since Season 4, Geek Toys has been on the Date A Live hype train, and this train ride isn't slowing down, but getting better.
Bring on Season 6 whenever that arrives, it will be the real endgame for Date A Live as a while. We just can't stop at here right now, ain't cha?
