JJk fits everything I should be liking in a shonen but I simply don't enjoy it. I've tried many times but just can't seem to get into it. A possible reason is probably the amount of hype that is in this show. Anyway, this is not a rant, I just wanted to know if I should continue the show because I've heard season 2 has turned haters into lovers for this show.

Also please don't flame saying that "we don't know if you should still watch" or "its just not your type of show" type answers. Try to be respectful;. Again this is NOT a jjk is OVERRATED rant.

Thanks guys

Season 2 is where it feels like the plot finally gets going with a big status quo shake-up. It's a lot darker in tone and there's very little levity once you get into the Shibuya Incident proper, it's just non stop fights.

It's hard to talk about without spoiling but the ideal watch order is probably first 5 episodes of season 2, the movie, then the rest of season 2.

I might be the only one who actually enjoyed season one more than season 2. my advice would be to try it, and if you don’t like it, it’s not your thing and that’s perfectly alright. there’s definitely more action in season 2 and there’s more characters that are introduced. the start of season 2 is in the past when gojo and his friends are younger but goes back to where season one left off. if you haven’t yet, try the movie out. if you don’t like the movie either, maybe try something else :) hope this helps.

I think season 2 is better than the first, it has more build up to its fights and better character writing(arguable). I'd say watch it at least till the tournament arc either way but it would be helpful if you expanded on why you didn't find S1 enjoyable

Why continue watching smth if you disliked season one. Oh that’s right, because everyone else liked it and you need someone else to tell you to watch it or not because you are a sheep. If you didn’t like the first season then why continue it. Simple as that.

I liked season one of the show but didn't think it was that much better than a lot of other mainstream shonens, but season 2, in my opinion, brought everything to a whole other level. watch about three episodes of season 2 and see how much you like it

@Cheggeronis time is valuable bro so I wanna watch something where my time won't be wasted. I'm not a sheep. It helps to have advice from people who know something more than you, that is not sheep behavior. Also I've disliked shows that alot of people praised, and I've also enjoyeed shows that had a weak first season. You seem like a good guy, and I see your a jjk fan so I don't wanna be mean, but just wanted to say the crtiscm doesn't make sense. Thanks for replying tho

It’s really up to you, season 2 was pretty divisive. There’s a lot of people who weren’t really satisfied with season 1, but loved season 2. And there’s also a lot of people who really liked season 1, but didn’t care for season 2.

S2 is worse, so no, you won't like it. Worse animation, almost no story, plot holes etc.

that's like telling someone who dropped one piece if they should still continue it, or if it gets better. like if it doesn't get you hooked immediately or in the first arc and what not just drop it it's not worth your time if you didn't enjoy these characters at first

@Animaticide yeah maybe I used the wrong wording but I dislike when people just turn a simple question into an argument or like its my fault. I think its a simple question and they make a response that is simply irrelvant.

@mobpsycho9000 thanks bro. I mean I get where he was coming from, but it still was kinda irrelevant to the topic. I hate arguing over stuff like anime, espically when he seemed like a cool guy who just worded stuff weirdly.

It was the same for me. I found season 1 very boring in terms of the plot, and I only continued the story because I was reading the manga while watching.
It gets a lot more interesting in season two, so go for it. Plus if you read manga, I'd recommend it as well

It’s almost of different show in terms of Tone for S2 compared to S1, so I’d say definitely give the second season a shot. But if you don’t care for it, then just ignore S3.

I also wasn’t a fan of s1. I saw the movie in theaters and loved it, and had heard the s2 was going to be much better so I watched it. It was incrementally better than s1, if I’m being honest. To me the movie is far and away the best JJK media out right now.

My biggest gripe w s1 was the lack of plot. There was no direction, every character felt generic and I felt no reason to get invested in anyone. Just felt like another edgy power-scale type of show. Unfortunately I was pretty much correct lol. The fights are admittedly pretty cool in s2, but the animation is really bad. I know all of the stories of MAPPA rushing it, and it’s obvious. Most of the fights look barely rendered, it’s kinda sad tbh.

If you want just nonstop action then sure, give it a go. I don’t think you’re going to feel invested in any characters during s2 if you didn’t in s1 like me.

I enjoy the movie as a standalone bit. The MC in that is by my account the only interesting character this show has presented whatsoever. Iirc, I have s1 rated a 6, s2 rated a 7, and the movie rated an 8.

To me, this is eye-opening because I HATE season 2. Like the show did all of its developing in Season 1, I felt connected and invested in the life of the characters and I understood what was happening. I won't spoil S2 but I dont watch Shonens for non-stop fighting with no plot development. S2 made me hate the show overall and I now think its a overrated anime

Season 2 is hands down better than 1 imo
The plot gets a lot darker and the humor that I felt was kinda ruining the story in the first season is gone.
