Wihle Komamura's bankai isn't the strongest, I admire his determination in his fight. This episode showcased his human form and also, it's great this season remembered his past with Tousen. They used the classic Soundscape to Ardor theme to protray that segment really well imo.

A tense episode imo but hey, seeing another captain (Komuamura) getting some spotlight is great. What a clifhanger. Excited to see more of Ichigo next episode.

Didn’t take much for Bambietta to take down Shinji, unfortunately. And we just had a presentation of his bankai for the very first time just last episode, however brief that was. Though nothing to fret over, as Sajin immediately took over… and he took over with a twist.

That human form of Sajin… yes it finally made it into the adaptation. Would’ve loved to take a ss but the fact still remains he looked fucking cool and a literal hulk in that form of his. Though he might have to wage his heart for that, but the conclusion of his fight with Bambi made up for it. I mean the fight looked epic, where Bambi literally got obliterated in the end. Though some may argue about the 3D Tengen Myo, but that’s how it was last time as well.

Sajin’s part was the highlight. That was done well, and my condolences to Bambietta. I mean it’s her fault for being around that kinda group lol. Anyways, Mask sternritter has a hell of a time coming in the next episode.

At this point it feels like Ichigo would never join the party, when he was already on the course back in manga. But that original post-credit segments are getting more and more wilder. Power to the man.

As the fierce battle rages on, the tides appeared to shift in favor of the Soul Reapers when the captains successfully reclaimed their stolen Bankai, a formidable weapon integral to their strength. The spirit of determination and camaraderie among the Soul Reapers surged, fueling their resolve to put an end to the menacing Stern Ritters once and for all. For a while hope flickered like a fragile flame in the hearts of the defenders, and for a brief moment, it seemed as though victory was within reach.

However, the Quincy, refusing to be defeated so easily, had one last devastating card up their sleeves. With unwavering loyalty to their leader and the unyielding thirst for vengeance, the Stern Ritters unleashed a terrifying and awe-inspiring Quincy Voll Stern Dich. This unfathomable power engulfed the battlefield, emanating a sinister aura that sent shivers down the spines of even the bravest Soul Reapers. Looks like my boy Shinji took Bambietta's bomb and has now fallen. Sigh there goes Shinji.

It seems like this episode primarily focused on Komamura vs Bambietta. We also see the Shunsui and Hashwald once again. Nice on Nanao's part for accurately stopping the attack.  Komamura carried this episode and they made my man shine as well.

Komamura went out like a true Soul Reaper. My respect goes out to him.

Shinji was disposed of pretty quickly after showing off a broken power last episode, but Komamura came to take care of Bambietta. Slight twist though, he's in a human form after sacrificing his heart. He took out Bambi pretty easily with his Bankai, and speaking of which, the CGI used for his Bankai didn't look that bad. Of course, you're still gonna have people who bitch about any amount of CGI they see in anime, no matter how good it may look, but it genuinely actually looked pretty good here.

Say what you will about how quick this fight was, but the more significant moment of the episode was the aftermath. Seeing the gravity of Komamura's sacrifice was emotional as we saw him gradually turning back into a dog. The focus on his character in this episode was great. Meanwhile, Mask got back up and washed the assistant captains, but thankfully Kensei and Rose showed up.

The post-credit scenes with Ichigo continue to get more and more intense, and they're such a welcome and appreciated addition to the adaptation. Also, random note, but the OP has definitely grown on me a bit more.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Very emotional to me.

One of the saddest moments in Bleach is in the Fake Karakura Town arc when Tosen is finally able to see and then he calls Komamura ugly.
Well, if only he knew Komamura's human form is actually handsome, too bad it didn't last long, his sacrifice in the manga was already sad especially when the Great Ancient of his clan starts speaking about him, but here I think they made it even more intense.

Next battle is Rose and Kensei vs Mask the Masculine... gotta say I'm not a fan of that character, to me the comedy and over-the-top tone from Mask and his minion James just doesn't fit this particular part of the story. But yeah, some people may enjoy it if they want more comic relief.

Komamura went down taking down Bambietta with him. His bankai looked menancing. Wonder what happened to the sternritters who were defeated. The two descending from the sky were Rukia and Renji I assume. Hyped to see them fight, specially Rukia. Also Ichigo have reached a new place with a new beauty waiting for him there. What's next for him?

Those stupid people don't know anything about CGI but act like they've master in CGI , for those people there's no good CGI.
I've not seen the episode yet but I'm pretty sure it won't be bad

Gee, that was an insane first half with Komamura-san's shining moments! Credits to the team for bringing out the "Soundscape to ardor" ost, that elevated the scene so much more, honestly. A despicable clan, badass bankai, and losing oneself to revenge, sounds like a winning combo, no? On a serious note, though, it was amazing to see how he took out Bambietta and gave Yhwach a stern stare for a bit. I just wish that he could've held out longer...

But hey, it's nice to see that his lieutenant is there to save him and offer some encouraging words too. I wonder how that'll go. Shinji-san got taken out way too early though, after all the buildup in the previous episode, it was kind of a let-down, lol. Squad captains 9 & 10 teaming up against the WWE-inspired (I think, lmao) Quincy commander, that should be fun. Squad Captain 1 vs. the former Emperor-to-be, guess we'll have to wait on this.

Ichigo seems to have made it past another stage, can't wait to see him join the action as well.

I was thinking, maybe the fluffy captain is done for... After he transformed into a dude's body, I felt conflicted. There's no more cool-fluffy-'character in the Soul Society anymore. After sacrificing his heart, he transformed into something else... lol, what's up with that. 🤯

Bambietta has finally been defeated... She's a killer of handsome-guys iirc from the previous episodes and it looks like she does it every time she wants to... Now get rekt by your own comrade. (I mean, it looks like her group was going to do something nasty to her, after they ditched her earlier, lol)

Ichigo finally completed that arduous journey in the hall. lol

I wonder who those two characters who just entered. I can't wait!

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Didn't like the fact shinji was defeated so easily in One hit and even worse he didn't even use his mask😑, Komamura died this episode but it happened so fast i just could not feel a thing even though i was supposed to.
Also apparently we still won't see the bankai of tosen liutenant(he never used it in the manga too)

Komamura be like "You cant kill what is already dead." -Roll safe meme-

For the sake of having a cool scene for the episode title where Iba carries wolf Komamura. Komamura gone from 9'5 feet to probably 6'0.

Thinking about it, now I want to know what thought passed inside Kensei and Rojuro heads after the last episode stealing Bankai mechanics explanation. I mean was an "Ah!" realization moment.

Gotta love how at the beginning of the episode Bambiette's girlfriends were trash-talking about her...such a 'lovely' friendship they've, wouldn't you agree?

Anyway, seeing Bambiette's maniac pleasure in destroying things and trying to destroy Shinji, Momo, and Sajin somehow made me smile. I don't know, but the fact she seemed to be so thrilled when her 'bombs' landed and how pretty those were? There was almost something poetically beautiful in that whole thing. Then again, Bambiette's reckless (stupid) nature is something I really dig as there is almost this murder-like child glee in her...

And yes! Finally! We got to see our handsome wolfman as a man! Though, just like Bambiette I felt a bit disappointed. After all, doggies (yes, I know Komamura is a wolf, but calling him 'doggy' isn't that far off, considering thanks to the evolution once upon a time dogs too were wolves...so, in a way, Komamura went backward with his new technique?) are much cuter~.

I kind of wish we would have learned more about the whole ordeal behind Komamura's clan. What exactly were his people (in the past?) do, that made it so, they had to live in shadows? Not to mention, the way Komamura's grandfather speaks, implies once upon a time they were all humans? So, what kind of 'sin' they committed, that made it so, they were turned into beasts? And it seems that cycle hasn't been able to break, because Komamura too was in his beast form... not to mention, I'm now wondering if given enough time, would Komamura one day turn out to be as big as his grandfather? Or, because he used Jinka Technique (basically used up all his powers), it's impossible. After all, before that he was a werewolf, but now he is just a small wolf...so yeah. A lot of questions, which I kind of hoped would have gotten answered or at least touched one more.

They really went with Komamura's Bankai 'this is GCI, take it or leave it'. Kinda impressive that they didn't even try to tone down that fact, but at the same time...I don't know. His Bankai looked okay in the manga, but now...it's an artistic style choice and easier to animate like that, I get it, but even so...it personally wasn't my cup of cacao. But at least the fight between Komamura and Bambiette was a very good one. I bet if they had animated his Bankai differently, doing Bambiette's flying attacks around it would have been trickier to pull. But at least now it went smoother till the end.

Bambiette's biggest mistake against Komamura was her fear that he managed to install in her. Then again...most living beings are scared of death, so it was somewhat natural Bambiette would freak out when she found out Komamura was like a dead-dead. I mean, aren't all shinigami technically dead? But because we see them walking, talking, etc. it gives this illusion of them being 'alive', but...they really aren't. They're like echoes of living that can bleed. Hmm. Then again, Komamura could be different, because he is a werewolf. Or not. Like, where goes the line between being shinigami and not being one goes? Does having an education that allows you to use Zanpakuto make you shinigami? Because Komamura's grandfather seemed to view Komamura as not being one of them, but in the end he was? Because of his "wolf spirit". So yes. Where does the line between being shinigami and non-shinigami (not soul in this case) go? After all, I feel like Komamura blurred that line and in the end owned both 'worlds' if we can talk about 'worlds'...

Even so, it doesn't make it any less sad Komamura turned into a tiny wolf in the end. He gambled it all and managed to take down only one Quincy. Now imagine his transformation had lasted much longer? Yeah, he would have belonged to those big threats Yhwach warned his Sternritters about.

Komamura's whole little arc was very emotional and I feel like despite the fact his grandfather 'helped' him, in the end, his grandfather also used Komamura. (This could explain why Komamura's grandfather is so big and old because by eating other werewolf's heart/revenge/soul, he manages to keep going on and grows bigger.) But like Komamura realized, the path of revenge will only lead to one's destruction. His lieutenant's words sounded almost hollow when he tried to reassure Komamura. But, maybe this truly is Komamura's clan's curse? The need for revenge, but against whom or what? Because Komamura's revenge was to avenge Yamamoto's death...and shinigami aren't above such things as revenge, so what made Komamura's clan so special they were consumed by the werewolf curse? Because they were willing to burn so brightly for their revenge?

Somehow, this whole episode was about Komamura, even though there were little parts about others here and there. Next time...hmm, I wonder if we'll see Rose and Kensei against that Superstar and those two 'mysterious' lights. Manga readers will know what those are~.

Oh my gosh, that ending! I just loved, loved that ending clip of Senjumaru waiting for Ichigo! She looked absolutely stunning, in the middle of her clothes, with a wicked smile on her lips.

My my. What does she indeed want about little Ichigo? ;D

Also, did Ichigo just become Soul King's spare vessel in case of emergency? ^^'

Best episode yet. Love this series' power system and the abilities it generates along with how Kubo matches them up against each other, and that was a beautiful but tragic character arc from Komamura. The CGI was smooth and looked brilliant thanks to the incredible compositing for this show. Directing and storyboarding are great as usual (Ichigo still cooking with those post credit scenes 🔥).

The production values and narrative will only escalate from around the half mark after Mask's fight so I'm super hyped for that. Especially cuz the staff apparently promised even better animation than cour 1 and they're practicing the same resource management here. Despite this being the "weakest" cour from TYBW, the presentation has been masterful so far.
