THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Yup, they put a lot of emphasis into music and songs into this show. After all, Vivy's goal in life seems to be making others happy with her songs.

There's apparently drama and conflict between the humans and AIs. What fascinates me the most about the show is the AI behavior in this show. Vivy's character seems to be somewhat emotional cold but tolerable.

Technology in this anime also seems to be quite advanced. Interesting first episode.

I am actually confused by the premise. I started watching this thinking there would be a connection to music and songs, but it seems to be a lot more centralized on an upcoming war between AI and humans than music and songs. Will have to wait for the English subs to confirm what is going on.

Great start imo and the show is really well drawn. Not surprised since it's from WIT Studio.

A sci-fi AI dystopian world, with the main character Vivy being a music diva? That's certainly her "mission" alright.

An AI program from the future, infiltrating Vivy to get rid of AIs and change the future, that's a prospect to stop the impending war between humans and AI.

The first test from this Matsumoto AI program of foretelling the future, looks like this will be the story plot going forward.

Tappei Nagatsuki's Re:Zero + Eiji Umehara's Chaos;Child + Wit Studio, hope this turns better than that low-ball Sigrdrifa one.

Only Raws have aired so far , you need to probably wait for 1-2 hours more for translated episode. It will be available on Funimation , Wakanim and Animelab.

So... we're on the AI's side or to be precise we're following an AI's journey in this show. At this point of time, the AI and humans doesn't seem to be on good terms which is not a good sign for any of the 'races'(confused if I should call AI a race?)
Vivi is the main character who wants to make everyone happy through her music which is quite adorable to think. But, let's see how the story progresses further. Plus point, this is a music anime which makes me watch it more since I'm a music nerd. LOL
Animation wise great as well as expected from Wit. Looking forward to more of it.

Interesting concept but can't help they'll screw up with the time gimmicks somewhere in just like a lot of shows out there that deals with that plot line. In fact this episode is already conflicting its own idea by

Magnificent premise, was really looking forward to this since it's another Wit Studio oiriginal and glad it exceeded my expectations. Visuals were stunning, character designs are beautiful and animation was smooth.

What a way to start the anime, with absolute chaos. AIs killing humans left and right in the middle of a concert, that was epic. Then rewind to 100 years back when Vivy / Diva was just born. She got the role of saving humanity by killing her fellow AIs, now that's a heavy responsibility. I like her character already and she looks gorgeous, proly gonna be waifu of the season. Also Matsumoto's quite the character too lol.

An absolutely amazing premise and this has the potential to become a masterpiece.

This is more than just music, and I'd reckon it's more of the AI part.

The writing process here is quite different compared to Sigrdrifa according to an interview with the two of them so it should be a lot more appropriate for a TV anime format.

Well, AI's destroying the humanity topic has been talked many times but it looks like this show will have a different approach on it. It definetly has potential and as someone who likes idols, I'm looking forward to hearing her voice.

The opening scene was very intriguing. Made me very interested of the world I'm about to jump into. My interest level did drop as the episode went by. Overall an OK first episode, hopefully it'll pick up some steam.

Loved it. While the premise isn't anything groundbreaking, it was more than unique enough to stand it's own ground. The art and soundtrack speak for themselves, and so far I'm liking the main duo. Excited for more.

Hmm the happy atmosphere brought by the singing sure contrasted well with the hellish scenes that went with it. Certainly having multiple missions can confuse AI's. Still Vivy's determination to self improve really combined well with her kindness towards others. Matsumoto though sure was quite talkative. But his insertion into Vivy's life sure is curious. But a time travelling AI sure is a new one. Still Kudo's to Vivi moving so rapidly to save the assemblymen. To think that giving AI basic human rights would end up causing a war in the future that kills millions. Overall a interesting ep that did well to both introduce Vivy and the world but also the events of 100 years in the future that prompted Vivy to transform from a singer to a new hope. Loving the interaction between her and Matsumoto though.

Hmm. Well this is an interesting concept.

AI from the future comes travels back 100 years to warn another AI of an impending AI vs Human War.

This episode went by pretty fast. Let's see if they keep it up in the second episode, since we got a double bill this week.

Interesting premise, especially when it comes to Vivy apparently having to fight her own kind in order to protect humans. I'm not fully sold on yet but I'm intrigued, it has potential.
Also, I already like the AI coming from the future, he's fun and intriguing.

Pretty weak start Id say. Extremely dull characters and a generic dystopian time travel plot. So essentially Terminator but less cool. Even with pretty colors I found it very boring.

First episode was okay… Animation med at best for TV production, nothing impressive there is some well animated parts when she does poses (which is like less than was 1s, but still), but when Vivy was running to save that one guy from explosion it didn’t look good at all. I’m not particularly fond of character designs.

OST didn’t stand out for me, I didn’t like even like insert songs that much, expect for the ED. The main reason why I’m watching this anyways is because of the Satoru Kousaki is doing the music.

The beginning of the episode was cringe and almost put me down from watching it, thankfully they explained it latter. There were also boring long-ass expositions (damn you Tappei!)

Might drop, but not yet.

Yooooo that opening scene caught me off-guard. That was brutal AF.

Interesting world, time traveling is a thing and with AI taking over the world. Hmmm sounds familiar in a lot of ways.

Still though, it's a pretty interesting start, I just hope it's going to keep me interested.

Quite interesting so far. Got me engaged in the story, definitely going to watch how this plays out, and visuals are great as expected of Wit. I am liking Vivy, nice how they managed to make her seeming both robotic and human at the same time. Matsumoto also seems like an entertaining little fellow and his relationship with Vivy seems promising so far. The mission they have to accomplish is really interesting, saving the future. That's gonna be one hell of journey it feels.

Well, it starts out with the robot war, although it'd be more accurate to call it the abrupt crazification of robots. Less Animatrix, more, uh, Sigma virus? Anyway, the episode takes a very poor turn from there and spends most of the rest of the episode in expositionville. At the start, it's bad, but tolerable. A sort of I Robot history lesson advertisement doing an intro for AIs. Then we get to the titular Vivy character and spend about the next six minutes stuck listening to her explain basic AI things and have basic AI things explained to her. The story, as it were, picks up again when the teddy bear virus shows up, but his schtick is being a motor mouth, so going from being slowly pumped full of useless minutia to being overwhelmed in rapid fire by plot dumping isn't a huge improvement.

The middle of the episode is consumed by a long chunk of the usual "I don't believe you" stuff that doesn't really go anywhere. I can't help but wonder if they pushed all the fun stuff to the second episode, because this one had absolutely none of the martial arts or gunplay promised by the promos. A silly thought with the second episode sitting right there which I'll watch in a moment, but it still meant that these opening 20 minutes dragged quite a bit. Weirdly too. Usually anime can't wait to have their idol characters do a little concert, or if they're an action show, have some kind of bit to show that off. Even the bloody robot coup at the start was just one woman having her face crushed, some people getting shot or brained by flying drones with generic shots of carnage.

Interesting start, definitely far-away the best premiere of the season so far, since I've not enjoyed a single premiere until this one. Visuals looked good, setting is interesting and I'm intrigued about the future episodes and the direction the story would take, particularly with Vivy's character. But at the same time, given how many themes this series already seems to feature and knowing that it's written by the author of Re:Zero, it could easily turn into a clusterfuck if not handled well consistently. At least the start definitely hooked me into the show and the world building potentially.
