Because people like me aren't interested in reading 720 pages of text. But they can bear 4 chapters of decent artwork illustrating the same shit.

Yeah, that is true. The question is why. Seriously, who wakes up one day and decides to make a manga adaptation of freaking Mein Kampf?

This is what MAL says about the author: "Variety Art Works is a production company that provided artists to work on the Manga de Dokuha series (まんがで読破, Reading Through with Manga). Manga de Dokuha is a series of manga versions of worldwide classic literature with the aim of introducing average manga readers to important literary works they would otherwise not be aware of or willing to read."

May I share a potential reason?

A reason why someone would read this or the original book is so they can see Hitler's disturbing mindset and view firsthand and find the fault in it. The saying those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it comes to mind.

Yes, that sounds accurate. It's for that reason people should be able to read the original book... but a manga, seriously?

I agree this is a bizarre manga adaptation. I can only assume they made the choice to create this was to maybe educate youth who didn't want to read the book?

Hmm, that sounds plausible. Though I must say, it's actually pretty sad that there are people who don't like reading books. There's nothing wrong with preferring manga or comics, but books should be important too. Oh well, if this does help educate others, who am I to complain? It's been a pleasure talking to you.

Idk, but maybe they don't want to read 720 pages of Hitler's ramblings and rather read the short manga instead?

Because Japanese have no history with Hitler, so they are not triggered by hearing his name. At the same time they think with their heads not with their hearts, so they don't get offended by history. Like it or not, Hitler is part of our history, a history we need understand, to not repeat. Rejecting Hitler won't make you less racists or something, it would make you less educated. In the West that is pretty obvious. Americans in specially, barely know anything about Hitler, because they treat him like Voldemort... ''his name shall not be said'', yet they trow his name right and left, comparing anyone they don't like or offends them with him ... Like this he had become a symbol of white supremacy used by the morons from the Western Academics and universities - which is very much bullshit. Hitler was no white supremacist, he was ethnocentric. He saw Germans as superior, not whites. The Jews were whites... so were the Slavs from East Europe, yet he wanted them dead too, because he considered them inferior. So all the victims of the Nazi were actually white. Yet the Westerner Leftist call Nazi white supremacist, while using the same anti-Jew discourse the Nazi had... so I guess that why we need to know about Hitler, Mein Kampf and Nazi... because if you don't, you may end up becoming one without knowing it. Hitlers hate for Jews was not racial, Hitler hated Communist, and he believed that Jews were communist, because the majority of the Bolshevic leaders were Jews too. So basically there was an ideological layer to the whole thing. The Nazi believed they were in right to exterminate Jews, because their ideology was in right, while the Jews had the bad kind of ideology that would destroy Germany. I guess, anyone who reads this, is seeing where I am going, right? I mean, everyone is seeing the ideological conflict in the West, especially in US and how and where is going. Is crucial for us to see and understand the patterns in the history, so we can avoid repeating its catastrophes. Hitler killed way too many peoples, for us to avoid understanding him and his views. That why peoples should at least know Mein Kampf, if not reading it.

I agree with what you've said, but that still doesn't exactly answer why there's a manga adaptation of Mein Kampf. A Japanese translation of the book is all that was needed. In any case, others in this thread have come to conclude that maybe this adaptation exists for youth who don't like reading actual books.

This is easier to read than a 700+ page book honestly. I read Mein Kampf completely out of curiosity, I love reading books about politics, I must say that it is an interesting book and I welcome the existence of this type of adaptation. I think even though it's a horrible ideology, people should know about it. People shouldn't think "This ideology is horrible but I don't know why" people have to know a lot about that ideology so that it never happens again. Only 4 chapters is very little, even as a summary, there should be more chapters where the foundations of National Socialism are better explained

"This ideology is horrible but I don't know why" ... Because it did f*cking holocaust!! it is that simple!

Sorry but this part was just so funny to me that I had to make follow up. xD

At the same time, you can read/watch/listen to studies related to those ideologies to learn more about them, if someone want to learn even more then they can look at "original work" but in situation like this I think reading manga adaptation would be just pointless, because how much can be lost in translation.
Manga recommendation:
- Spy x Family (Ch.107/? - biweekly) | Sakamoto Days (Ch.190/? - weekly)
- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.108/? - weekly) | Machi and Oboro (Ch.15/? - biweekly)
- Make the Exorcist Fall in Love (Ch.78/? - biweekly)
- You and I Are Polar Opposites (Ch.64/? - biweekly)
Anime recommendation:
- Deca-Dence (Finished) | Wave, Listen to Me! (Finished)
- If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die (Finished)
- Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater (Finished)

I agree that the best is to read Mein Kampf. But hey, it's +700 pages, it can be a lot for some people

The truth of how delusional and vile Hitler was, yes. Though, the original book already managed to get that across, so as has been stated earlier in the thread, adapting it to manga is strange.

The original may also be too difficult. I can't speak for Mein Kampf as I haven't read it, but manga are almost always easier to understand. Those 700 pages will be a waste of time if the whole ideology goes over one's head.

Women can't understand kino
"Chimp in state of nature never jerks off, but in captivity he does, wat does this mean? In state of nature he’s too busy, to put plainly. He is concerned with mastering space: solving problem of life in and under trees, mastering what tools he can, mastering social relations in the jockeying for power and status. Deprived of this drive to development and self-increase he devolves to pointless masturbation, in captivity, where he senses he is in owned space and therefore the futility of all his efforts and all his actions."
