----------------------------------------
What an awkward aftermath after that last episode. Is Saki and Haruto on a date or something? Must feel awkward sitting there in the movie theaters watching yourself in a movie.

Akira-chan <333. Wait a minute, what the hell is wrong with her. Ya, there's definitely something going on in her mind. Akira-chan ;.;

Nice battle scenes I guess. Go Thunder! Oh and those Dorssia bastards. Poor Shoko this episode ;.;

I lol'd @ the ending...
>Marriage.

Poor Shoko ;A;
Btw, Haruto's proposal made me surprised. But well, at least he knew how to take responsibility for what he did. Maybe it was the promise that Saki mentioned.

God, the end of the episode was GREAT. Not only did Haruto do you-know-what to Shoko, but then he pulls that?

Shoko fans gonna RAAAGEEE!

As a Saki fan, I approve of this episode. Shoko will likely never forgive Haruto for what he did.

I'm surprised that Haruto is going to take responsibility though. Props to him.

As much as I'm enjoying this picture (it just makes me so happy)...a sudden thought hit me staring at the more attractive person in that screenshot (duh, it's L-Elf xD). What if...L-Elf falls in love with Shouko? God knows where the Dorssian princess person is, but he wouldn't fall for her just because you know...ARGH!!!

Anything can literally happen in this freaking anime, I mean no one really expected Haruto to freaking turn into a monster, rape Saki, and then propose to her so I really wouldn't be surprised if L-Elf got tangled in all this messed up crap happening and accidentally fall in love with the wrong girl. He's not immune to the stupid acts of others, I mean any human being would lose their mind after being around those high schoolers that long!

ERUERUFU...PLEASE DON'T...gosh now I'm going to be paranoid whenever the two of them stand within 5 meters apart.
I should have more faith in him...but I don't have faith in this anime at all.

Looks likes Schadenfreude dominates this thread so far ?!? Guess people can find nothing more meaningful to say... Anyway, so much for those stupid talk about "Mary Sue" character...

Anyway, the director in twitter already asked the fans that he would like to know what people think of the ending of this episode. So a bit of a shocker is already expected. I surely hope that people can write something more thoughtful than the many one-off lazy remarks I am seeing so far.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

^ To the above post, you might want to put that lovely picture in spoiler tags.
As much as I am admiring the beautiful quality of Saki's gigantic face (lol) I think it's stretching the page a little way too much!!

Maybe I'll post something a little more thoughtful once I actually watch the episode, lol.

There really is nothing wrong with posting just reactions and thoughts, though. If everyone was posting their 5 paragraph thesis on what they think of the anime, there literally would be no discussion and just a bunch of smart asses trying to look like they understand what they're talking about.

Thought-provoking...yes. Interesting...maybe. Condition of my eyes...not okay.

I spoiler'd it. I also resized it about 10 minutes ago, but it might be showing the original size - 1920x1080 IIRC - which was WAY too big. I had to refresh the page after resizing and it's much smaller now, 640x354 or something.

First, of course posting about thoughts are good, you see I even wrote "something thoughtful" !! Second, being thoughtful does not mean to be long. Third, reactions can be on many aspects, not just one-dimension like "oh I am so happy to see her cry yay yay". This episode is surely about a lot lot more than this.

I'm sorry. I don't agree with you. I don't see any logic nor teaching that this anime should give. This just talks about an immortal vampire that seeks girls to rape; A cool white haired guy that can destroy a base alone with his bare hands. And about how students in a school (in anarchy state) can just live their school life, during a war.

I don't want any of their bullshit classically conditioning itself to that awesome as hell and noble-minded series. Please stop using Reinhard or anyone else as a calling card that basically says, "I'm a pretentious person that looks down other other shows". Same goes for Jojo related stuff.

No probably not. It doesn't really work that way. Doublethink is a little more common with reactions to shows like this than you think. There's really nothing stopping people from reacting to this weeks Shoko developments in the expected manner and then still trying to argue how she's a "Mary Sue". Proving it is another thing entirely, but that's not really part of the game.

Look forward by the way for when the second season roles around and this one becomes an instant classic that people profess they wish the second season could live up to in terms of standards.

Actually you've kind of got it backwards. What we have now is basically smart asses trying to look like they understand what they are talking about, what we have when there's actual discussion about the episodes is more or less an exchange of ideas. Just because a show isn't gods gift to intellectual enlightenment doesn't mean there can't be actual discussion over the events that transpire. To me that's a flawed perspective to have.

Also some people just like to write about stuff, did you ever stop to think of that? If you want to talk anti-intellectual the idea that somehow making a post that is longer than a twitter update is somehow a smart ass is a much greater offense than anything I've seen in this show to date. There's nothing wrong with short one-liner posts per se, I just don't know why the people expect everyone to turn around and take them seriously and like they are of greater value than something somebody put some thought into writing. I mean I know in those peoples heads people like me are somehow the crazy ones for enjoying a show like Valvrave but maybe they can try relating to other peoples POV just once or something.

First of all projecting post is projecting and second it doesn't even look like you understood the purpose of my post judging by how you reacted to it. And no it's not that I "get" the show better than everyone else, it's that I'm actually paying attention and roll with the punches. Also if you are here and posting then how exactly are you missing out on the show in any way? Also what do you seek to accomplish? Is the goal to convince me of your perspective or is it something else entirely?

Is this a Valvrape's thread or a LOGH's thread? I think i'm missing something.

Also, If you were referring to me, i think you got the wrong guy. Did i say i was intellectual because i watched LOGH or did i say i was even intellectual? You're just assuming everything on your own, and that makes you just like what you described a while ago.

I'm just giving my opinion about this "anime", if you perceive that as intellectual, i'm honored.

PS: I'm even enjoying watching Valvrape.

When did I ever say that writing long posts were bad?
If anything, in almost every discussion I, myself, contribute by posting long paragraphs that quite frankly nobody really reads because let's be honest here, this is a ridiculous show to be going into deeper discussions about. I know you pointed out that this show may not have much to discuss about, yet people should still be free to exchange the ideas they have. This, I agree with. I'm not opposed to people writing their thesis paper here, nor am I discouraging people from actually going into depth each episode. My point, is that these "long posts" that people write, the effort that they take to combine all of their thoughts into one single post, this is an admirable thing to do, yes, and it's interesting to read, but that shouldn't be required from every single person posting in the thread. I, then, posed an example of how if every single person posted paragraphs and paragraphs "exchanging ideas" obviously, you'd have a discussion going on (most likely a debate), and sure people will contribute to it, but not every single person like to read paragraphs and paragraphs of text. This is a discussion, and if people want to come in, write their reactions, and then leave...that's perfectly okay. They can do whatever they want to do.

What I'm not okay with is when you walk in and people are going at it and writing a full-length novel and then when you post your little "oh, I really love this episode" comment and they start attacking you because you clearly did not see their 300 page book on how this episode sucked so bad or when someone attacks you for simply writing "I'm so happy because so-and-so cried"? I mean, seriously? Who are they to judge you, even if they love to write their feelings in a very long format, people have the right to write whatever they want, and when people look down on others just for posting their thoughts and not writing an essay, that's not alright. Needless to say, I'm not exactly pointing fingers at anyone in particular here, but the "smart asses" that I'm referring to do exist and when I say that they think they know everything, they don't because they don't know that people are allowed to say whatever they want.

This isn't entirely an unfair point, I think ultimately the issue comes down to tolerance. Personally I'm more than a little tired of some people demanding to know know how others can take the show seriously as if to imply that all discussion surrounding it is fruitless, like I'm sure some like you are tired of being told their posts are hard to take seriously. As far as I'm concerned you've kind of proven that you're putting some thought into your posts and considering what others are saying so all is good.

So...
At the episode one I got the feeling of possible trolling.
At the episode three I was sure of it.
But Sunrise... You are gone beyond expectations. You are THE greatest!!!
Making a high budget product with fake depth storyline and fake references fantastic-mythological... Using shipping,
preferences about girl types, rape and love confession...
Alls to give the show a feeling of 'meaning' and to make hype.
This is THE ULTIMATE TROLLING.
IT's true, Sunrise. If the plate is made of gold we eat everything... Undigested dinner too.

Childhood girl's father was actually taken away, and was the creator (or relating to creation) of Valvrave?? lol @ the naming for that "yankee" guy's robot. Childhood girl is too much, though, too thoughtful less when suggesting a hikikomori girl out.

lol @ the date by watching her movie to prevent him from talking to childhood girl. She had to make a choice between her father and themselves.

It was probably made to make responsibility for his action last ep., but he's really going far away from Childhood girl.

That ending, it basically saying Shoko loses everything. Well i doubt she would love Haruto since he unintentionally killed her father.

So L-elf planned to kill Shoko? Or was he planning on shooting the screen?
I thinking he was planning to kill Shoko but after looking at her he decides not to? Possible love interest or was it just pity/mercy?

"Eru-Erufu outsmarted?" Wouldn't be surprised if this was in his plan too but he's planning on something different which is why he left it out of the notes. After all we didn't see Shoko's and his reaction to the sneak attack.

So Haruto wants to take responsibility for knocking up his fellow vampire kin? #Facepalm *Shrugs but I feel bad for Shoko since I like her more* Have a feeling she's gonna die for real next week if the next cour takes place 200 years in the future. Also couldn't give two shits about Shoko's dad's death since I long forgot about his status

My feelings on this episode are going to depend on how I feel the mid season finale is executed. Don't mind these breaks too much since it lets me digest my thoughts on the show before it continues. Arakawa Under the Bridge and Fate/Zero did similar things.

No. he would have killed her if she would ask haruto to stop the harakiri blade...

Best part about the ending of this episode is since there's some development between Sakislut and Haruto is the fact that pairings that happen early are more often than not completely obliterated by the time the anime ends.

As in Oreimo when

Let's... not get off topic.

Discussion question time.

1) Why is L-Elf trying to make Shouko break down mentally? He clearly put her in an isolated area, and have her watch her father's death (I sure L-Elf already saw that coming).

Speculation on Shouko so far: She is probably going to be an important figure for the country (77 module; likely going to be called the Third Ginga mentioned in the beginning of the first episode). I doubt that she will die, as we already got trolled ONCE.

2) Why would L-Elf take out he gun? He could have only shot either the monitor or Shouko. Was he going to shoot Shouko if she actually agree to the terms?

3) Haruto, what are you doing!? (Rhetorical question, no need to answer)
(Edit: It's all VVV-tan's doing!!!)

And Shouko yells "NO!!!!" while everyone else cheers. I love the extreme opposites in this anime.

Also, the very misleading preview from last time. I thought Haruto and Saki would develop more "relationship". But they did... in a very different way.

Haruto will probably be the unexpected factor that Cain has to deal with. And that proposal... right before going into battle. I sense something unfortunate coming.

It's great that Haruto actually took responsibility. Saki is becoming more likable too.

God dammit Sunrise. Them and their juxtapositions. They make me angry and pleased at the same time.

@Shih

I was wondering that to in regards to your 1st and 3rd questions, a lot of this episode hinges on next week. It's been obvious through the series L-Elf's the one pulling the strings the entire time but for what purpose? What's his end game? We'll probably find out soon

Yeah, I don't know I'm still holding onto a bit of hope but if things continue this way... It's highly likely I'll keep the status on this one as dropped and keep the rating at 1.

Whilst Saki will marry, Shoko buries her daddy. Best girl wins again.

At least Haruto took responsibility.

I KNEW IT. THE MINUTE HE TURNED AROUND. I KNEW IT.

This is how he's going to 'take responsibility'. This is the worst written romance since Asuna and Kirito. It COULD have been better, if the writers had decided to develop their relationship instead of throwing a few random scenes here and there. I mean it was kind of clear from the start that Saki liked Haruto, but Haruto never... sigh. Whatever.

Am I the only one that feels bad/likes Shouko? I like her much better than the most of the other characters. (I'm actually coming to like everyone but Haruto...) I found that when Shouko yelled 'NO!!' while everyone was cheering, was a pretty effective scene. I really felt sorry for her there. Seeing your own father die, huh. Not a pleasant experience, clearly.

I wonder if L-Elf x Shouko is possible one day? Looks like they're together more often (than Haruto and Shouko or nowadays, anyways). Haha but it looks impossible atm, I think L-Elf was about to shoot Shouko there.

This was actually an okay episode. Better than a couple of the others.
