THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
There is a festival about to happen at the girl's school but this episode is more focused on Izo, Kirius, and Array. Izo going after Madoka and being mistaken as her boyfriend by the other girls was pretty funny. Array has to work off his debt after he learns Madoka's cafe doesn't accept credit cards, and Kirius witnesses first hand Madoka saving a drowning girl (although he doesn't know it is Madoka). It appears that the chairman didn't reverse her decision (like I thought) from last episode and Madoka still can't pilot Midori.

So he wen't after Madoka but in the end he he stopped and did not even showed his face to her and that was after he made a huge misunderstanding to the rest of the girls.
The other guy got stuck at Madoka's house but didn't get any closer to her either and than there was the last guy who was helped by Madoka but didn't ask for her name.
In the end they didn't do anything to her.

Now we also know who Yukikano is but we still don't know what she did or what happened to her all we know is that she is connected to some tragedy.
And we know a little more about Madoka's past which seemed sad.

I also have to say that there happen to be allot of people that get into trouble in the ocean there.

Array was lovelly :) plus he really was into that role
hope that by it he will find his real destiny
all of that searching part was great - ceremony FTW!

plus again some glimpses of what was happening before with Yukikano
and of course story of why Madoka is behaving this way :) that was interesting

so it seems that things will start to move faster soon

This was a funny episode with the male trio doing their own things. Poor Array though, having to work off his food that he couldn't pay for in that maid outfit and the male customer grabbing his butt! lmao

No action, but a lot of good development. At the end I see Izo, Kirius, and Array now wavering in their direction - I'm wondering if when the main Kiss force arrives the three of them might throw in with Madoka, Lan and Muginami.

Horribly boring episode....

I will most likely see the final 3 episodes, but depending on how this ends, I might not see season 2.

It's just not an interesting story, I keep waiting for something big to happen or at least something that will grab my attention, and it just doesn't happen.

The low score is very accurate.

This show <3. The only one this season where I watch BOTH the OP and the ED. Normally I skip them. But my GOD the visuals <3.

That and the cheerfullness and the silly humor, its brilliant!

Altough I do think they are trying to do too much with the story and the plot and all that jazz. There are SO many questions about those Vox robots. And not to mention what the f is up with all those warring nations/planets/whatevertheyaresupposedtobe.

Actually, it's not accurate for me, since I have this anime at a 5/10....but I can definitely understand why it's at a 7.16

I keep watching because I absolutely love the animation and art, also Madoka and Lan are likable characters.

Unfortunately, that's the ONLY thing I like about this anime....and since I'm so busy I only watch a certain amount of anime each season....that means I won't waste my time with season 2 (unless something REALLY big or very interesting happens in these final 3 episodes).

I'm surprised I didn't drop this anime already, but I kept hoping for something to catch my interest.

Good episode,filler episode.

It was a slow passed episode but it was ok,the 3 guys are funny specially Array,he really is a decent trap, also he really knows how to be a maid. Also that guy in the bar is creepy...but that scene the best of the episode.

At least we also know a little more what happen to Madoka mom so she drown...i think there is more to it.

Lan's brother send a team to get the Vox,probably will see them at the end of next episode or the next after that....lets see how it goes next.

Laughing my ass off. I love how some people interpret ratings. That a "7", which is a MAL rating of "good", is a "low" score is something I find highly amusing.

Episode was part slice of life and part really thrilling.

I had to laugh at the part in the spoiler
Kirius mentions of beauty and then the irony of it comes down to what that little boy was doing. Which brings me that I have not seen that gag in for a while like that. Last one I remember being remotely funny or correct was in Dragonball first season at some point. May edit later.

7.16 is considered low because the majority of anime in MAL is rated higher than 7.50, also the really great anime are all 8.50 or higher.

BTW, I believe most people don't go by the "good" "great" and "Masterpiece" ratings.

For example there are anime that I don't think are "good" but I might still give them a 7/10.

Lastly, I don't think this anime is "Bad", I just don't think it's interesting.

Interesting statistic. How did you determine that? If you say anything other than adding up all the scores for all the shows and determining an average rating, or using a random sampling of a non-trivial sampling size, it's irrelevant.

Why? What's the point of using a rating system if you're not going to follow it? At best it is misleading.

ichigo03 said:

Thus, your rating of '5' (average). I can accept that. Why is it necessary to bring along all that other baggage about your opinions on how other people rate shows? Had you simply stated that you think it is mediocre and only worth a 5/10 and been done with it, I would never have challenged you. Had you said it had a low rating and its average rating actually been 5 or less I would never have challenged you. I just can't accept a '7' as being a 'low' rating until I'm shown proof that most people ignore the MAL rating scale.

Whatever...

Really?

You're going to use this argument....fine.

Here's a "sample size" you can agree with....take a look at the anime you have watched.

Do the average and you will find that it's higher than 7.50....hell, it might be A LOT higher than that.

Here's another sample size, take a look at the TOP 100 most "popular" anime in the MAL database. There is only 6 anime that are lower than 7.50 out of 100!!!

EDIT: I actually looked at the TOP 200 most "popular" anime in the MAL database and out of all of those only 20 were lower than 7.50....that's only 10%!!!

@Cratex post.. WTF? well, i wouldn't want to get on your debate because we'll reach nothing when you start talking too numerically like that.. but on the question of "Why? What's the point of using a rating system if you're not going to follow it? At best it is misleading.", all i can say is that not all of us want to follow certain systems especially when we are not forced to.. we are free to do what we want and we'd like to do stuff that are convenient to us.. you don't have to wonder about this unless you see the world in white and black..

anyway, i stopped caring at the plot of this show.. they have awesome characters, though.. that i enjoy so much..

Actually....I'm very silly, all I have to do is look at the "Top Anime" MAL database.

They rank from highest to lowest EVERY SINGLE ANIME ON MAL!

Currently, there are over 1,200 anime that are rated HIGHER than 7.50.

and there are over 2,100 anime that are rated HIGHER than 7.16.

Trust me, even thought a 7/10 in MAL is considered "Good", ratings wise, anything under 7.50 is "Below average".

Even though my profile says I joined in 2010, I've been coming to this website since 2008, I know about these things.

Yes, I agree with you, there are a large number of fans that only rate until AFTER the anime has finished.

Therefore, it's possible the rating gets a boost, although I don't expect a huge boost.

Also, I like this anime for Madoka and Lan.....and the animation is probably the BEST of this season, no doubts there.

It's everything else that I have a problem with.

I certainly don't mind fanservice, moe, and other non-plot devices that anime uses to draw in an audience.

However, there are some anime that can do it others that can't....K-ON! was able to do a wonderful job at slice of life with NO plot whatsoever, and in the process they built one of the biggest fanbases....EVER!

At the same time, Bakemonogatari was able to do a heavily plot oriented anime....but it still included fanservice (who can forget when Senjogahara came out of the bathroom fully nude!!)....regardless, it turned out to be a huge success with a huge fanbase as well.

It's all about HOW you do the anime and how can you grab the attention of the viewer.

Really? If I exclude "currently watching", when I do the numbers I actually come up with 6.78 - you're not convincing me yet.

(Actually, since I only watch shows I think I'll like and don't watch shows I doubt I'll like, I can see why my average score is not '5.5' - it just means I avoid shows I'd probably rate below 5. If anything, a statement like that would go along way to explain why most scores tend to be above 6, since most people don't watch shows they probably wouldn't like).

If you don't want to use the MAL rating system, that's fine by me. But, I would thnk that it means what it means - you don't use it.
(shrug) you are certainly free to do what you want - I can't stop you. If you want to rate a show you think sucks as a '7' then I can't do anything about it. I just want to challenge generalizations. It just bugs me when somebody says "this is bad, no wonder it only has a 7.4 score".

Currently there are 6,740 anime in the MAL database.

However, that is not a fair number.

About 1,000 anime have far too little views or have not been aired yet and therefore they have a 0.00 rating....IMO these shouldn't count.

and then you have HUNDREDS....maybe even 1,000 Hentai anime....all of which have very low ratings.

I believe these should also not count since it's not fair to rate porn with a legitimate story.

I wouldn't rate real life porn movies with Hollywood movies, so that's why I'm saying that.

Overall there's about 4,500 - 5,000 legitimate anime titles in MAL, and you can look this up for yourself if you don't believe me.

I honestly love this show, no matter what others might say about it.

It's not all about the action-packed mecha fights. This is a mecha show that focuses on character development and relationships more than anything else, and some people just don't seem to understand that.

So to me, the rating should be much higher.

It may be just character design, but Madoka looks a lot like Yurikano. I wonder if they are related in some way...

Also did they ever mention which organisation do those three dudes work for? Another rebel group or some shadowy syndicate? Nevermind, they are from De Metrio.

And next episode, Vox Aura goes auto-pilot. Will it go berserk and annihilate Kamogawa?
