Good thing that now Biwa is exiled out of the Taira clan, and into her own lonewolf journey to Echigo to find her roots, which is proving a lot harder than most.

As for the Heike, it's clear that trouble only ensues more than ever, and they have even lesser backbone to face the Genji's gaining stronghold. This Kiso no Yoshinaka general is another one awaiting action towards the Heike, and the Taira brothers like Koremori are essentially faced with a preposition forced on their throats. Sadly, like Lord Kiyomori, Munemori is the same lazy-ass governor who only wallows before his final days while the Taira brothers have to take actions on their own behalf.

Yoshinaka issuing a challenge to Koremori in the most unrefined way, that's as exemplary of his crude personality to strike where the blood is thin, and Biwa's song identified how unprepared Koremori's forces were against Yoshinaka to lose a substantial 70k soldiers out of a 100k total force they have. And here they are, moving capitals once again to save their ass to Dazaifu, while the others travel to Fukuhara (where Emperor Go-Shirakawa was once imprisoned there from Kiyomori's orders). This is especially true for Tokuko who bore the Empreror and has to escape all the bloodshed of the impending war where the Heike is fighting a losing battle against the Genji (plus the Enrakuji in cahoots).

The reference all the way back to Episode 1's opener with the Genji's arrival in the capital and Biwa's escape with the help of some girls, we'll finally see Biwa's side of the story.

When you realize that Kyomori was a strategic genius, but didnt teach his sons well the art of battle, now Heike just have bad generals.

70k people. That's bodies and blood for days floating down the rivers.

When you heard the name Tomoe Gozen, but don't know the story.

Now we begin Biwa's true arc. I think.

Koremori's despair combined with the soundtrack hit hard. Damn so Munemori burns down every city they've been in.. even fukuhara's port which his father has build. The heike is desperately trying to get away from the genji.. the end of the heike seems to be near.

the new female side characters that helped out biwa at the end seemed cool

Still at war as usual, seems like it's no going so well for our Heiki brothers. Koremori's last battle against them was tragic. I can't believe he lost 70k soldiers in a blink of an eye.. The soundtrack combined with the fleeing scene was incredible. I must say, the OST is excellent. Biwa gained more information about her mother but it still was not enough to meet her.
Some new characters appeared who saved her.

Good episode. The battle scene with Biwa Hoshi singing in the background was very eerie and well done. Story is getting more interesting too with the gradual fall of Heike.

This is one of those quality episodes where I need to watch at least twice to truly understand. Can't wait for the big reveal that is Biwa's identity.

Being Koremori is pain.

The Heike right now is pretty much just a limp dying animal, dragging itself trying to survive. Munemori being the head ain't it bruh. I am pretty sure the way things are going, their "allies" to the west are not going to be allies.

Biwa is trying to find her mother, now that she's no longer involved with the Heike which is for the best. I wonder how long her journey to Echigo took. From Biwa's eyes, there's probably not much difference between the Heike and Genji, they both abuse their power as seen in the end there. Really great episode!

Things are really not looking good for Heike, for real.
Genji are taking over the capital city.

Meanwhile Biwa is looking for her mother and new character saving Biwa?
Wonder who that is...

So Biwa is off on her own finding clues about her mother. I wonder how that will tie into the Heike story because almost certainly the character of Biwa is fictional in their entirety. I mean maybe there were records of Shigemori taking in some orphan but I doubt it. Besides that the battles continue on for the Heike and they get absolutely crushed. Down to 7000s troops is pretty crazy. I feel bad for Koremori but still none of the characters we've really come to know have died in battle. Will things really start to look up as the flee to the west? Idk about that.

At this point, there's nothing that's going in Heike's favor. Everything's been going downhill for them. Losing 7000 soldiers at the valley was such a big impact and then leaving the capital to find refugees somewhere else and now they're expecting help from their allies in the West and I have a bad feeling about that.

I hope I'm wrong and they'll be able to find the strength to fight. It's sad to see everyone getting panicked in such a situation. War is always so terrible no matter what era it is.

Seeing how overconfident the heike is and their downfall is quite pitiful. Honestly can't wait for them to disappear. Tho idk wtf biwa is gonna do here forward. She is pretty much detached from the other story line it feels like lolz.

I hope that Biwa will be able to meet her mother eventually, but it really seems like the end is near for the Heike... it's like a loop for Biwa, what happened to her and her father at the beginning is happening again but with different people this time... :S

Although the Heike brought all this upon themselves, it was still sad to see Shigemori's sons in such despair.

Nice Tomoe Gozen cameo, by the way.

Losing 70.000 soldiers truly must've taken its toll on poor Koremori, I really hope that at the end of this all he'll be able to lead a peaceful life.

Biwa getting kicked out like that was a bit of dick move but she never really belonged there. It feels like more of her journey now that she's moving on her own
