So Atem really left, this is actually quite sad how it ended, anyway it was really good as a whole, especially for the card game aspect, I wish the finale battle was a bit longer though

Overall, this was a pretty good ending. Atem finds peace after 3000 years and now Yugi's ready to face life, with his friends at his back.

I liked this manga a lot. It's a classic shounen manga in every sense. The story was long but it wasn't blown out of proportion until the ending and beginning seemed like they were two completely different manga. I liked the characters, cliche and useless as some of them are (I'd like to blame you Anzu but its clear you're just there because an editor told the author at least one girl had to be part of the group. Honda on the other hand, has no excuses). The art was decent but most of all, the battles were definitely the highlights of this manga. Although I feel like there were a lot of times that convenience gave Atem and Yugi victories, most of the battles managed to be engrossing.

I’m probably the only person in the universe who shed a few tears with this ending 😂

Honestly, Yugi grew so much as a character since the first chapter. Yes, Atem was a catalyst for his growth but at the end of it all, Yugi couldn’t hold on to that catalyst for the rest of his life. Yugi’s will to take on every day challenges is now built with confidence more than ever before. In the beginning, he was bullied daily and was used as bait for so many situations. After solving the millennium puzzle, he used it as means to build the confidence he needed to make friends and protect them, even when he had no idea there was another entity living inside of him.

Atem on the other hand, in the beginning was an entity with dark powers, which was most likely the powers of Zorc Necrophades that was hidden inside the millennium puzzle; hence the shadow games and the penalties afterwards. The Millennium Arc established that these dark powers is not what Atem would’ve wanted, nor wanted it to define him, and overtime throughout the manga his dark tendencies began to fade. It was not just because of the guilt from putting Kaiba in a coma.

Yugi helped Atem find his true self, so in hindsight they both helped each other grow as individuals. Yugi can now move on with his life knowing that he was a hero for himself and for putting Atem’s soul to rest. They both saved each other from potentially a lifetime of misery and never finding themselves.

Everything about this manga was so good. It was not over the top despite the fact that Gaming was a huge part of the plot. Even though a part of me wishes that the story was more like season 0 onward, what we got was still phenomenal.

9/10

Nowwwww I’m gonna go watch Dark Side of Dimensions to fill my void from finishing the manga 😭

I'm kinda disappointed with this duel in particular and the 2nd and last time I'll praise the anime over the manga, since they did it better in the anime, especially the moment where the 3 gods were summoned and Yugi managed to defeat them. Kinda sad since it was my 2nd favorite duel in the anime. But overall, storywise, this is a lot better. This felt more emotional than the anime did. I won't regret reading this manga, it was a nice experience for a long time YuGiOh fan like me...

Well that was a phenomenal read and a blast to read through!
I'm so happy that I finally caved in and decided to read this series even though I've never been interested in the game that much but I've always had a fascination with this franchise and suffice to say that all of my expectations were met with and even surpassed haha. I honestly think this manga deserves all the hype and praise it has gotten and it's no wonder that Kazuki sensei's work has become a Global phenomenon.
This series kept me on the edge of my seat and I loved binge reading it!
An absolute joyride of a manga, Will recommend to everyone who likes Manga or even the Shounen genre.
9/10. Thank you, Kazuki Takahashi and Rest in peace.
