THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Boss appearing and apologized for what his sister did. He put that broken sword back, but immediately vs. enemy boss. The girl sheds tear inside the tree. Boss flew pearls away, and angered his sister, so she ran away. FukuJun's character pierced him. When Three girls returned, father ran away. Main girl vs. boss finally. The boss has scars, which is why he's been wearing mask. Wow, that swordsmith guy from previous series! He got sister girl even though she got him little damage, and butterfly left. Inu and Kagome daughter using lipgloss power. Main girl changed into youkai / like her father, from the sadness of losing her sister and join up the fight against boss. To outer space? They lost, though. Father appeared again and gave the last sword to her. Continuation (2nd arc) announced. https://twitter.com/hanyo_yashahime/status/1373197411590365186 |

Zero's allegiance to Sesshomaru and his mom, sure has to bail at one point, which is now. The spite between Sesshomaru and Kirimmaru is bound to happen anyways, and once again, the Rainbow Jewels are spread across the land (which means all thos time, Riku's job to gather all of them is back on the field). But no matter, no more hiding and holding back: Kirinmaru has to face all 3 half-demon girls. Without the Rainbow Pearls, it's the rite of courage and cowardice. The final fight actually delivered the hype (that Japan indeed was waiting for with briming happiness), with Setsuna losing to Kirinmaru and going asleep with the Dream Butterfly, leaving Towa and Moroha to clean up the mess with their demonic powers that's akin to both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru levels respectively. Even as much as bringing the battle into outer space, it's still not enough to finish Kirinmaru. Despite all efforts, Sesshomaru recognizing Towa's powers without the Rainbow Jewel for a noteworthy close, and bethroning Tenseiga to her...this fight isn't over yet. Hello Totosai, long time no see, may you appear again in Season 2 for more lore about Rin. Of course, Season 2 announced, or rather a continuation. https://twitter.com/hanyo_yashahime/status/1373197411590365186 https://twitter.com/yashahime_na/status/1373197626200395781 |

Loved the episode. Was expecting Tenseiga to be passed down to Towa after the preview for this episode we saw last week. Seeing Sesshoumaru fighting so Rin would not cry anymore and saying Towa's name at the end of the episode was so nice. The fights were nicely done and after that terrible episode 19, the entire anime looked like completely different. Those last 5 episodes were specially good and that was a satisfying ending since I was already expecting a sequel to be announced. Maybe after what happened with Zero, there's gonna be a "search for the pearls" just like in Inuyasha. Talking about this name, let's see if they will free him and Kagome though. I mean, I'm fine with that since he had an entire show for himself, but still feel kinda sorry for him. Well, we will have another season. The ones who disliked this one, please don't even bother watching the next one. Meanwhile, I'll be here holding my hype while waiting for it. |

What the actual fudge was this even? Angry Zero just bails, one little girl dies, and suddenly the two other ones are - getting lessons on what to call their attacks, and fighting in space? I wanted to laugh but I couldn't even do that much it was so bad. Like. Thing lost me quite a few episodes back, but I didn't think it would get this bad. I think the phrase rhymes with "clucking bell". |

Towa and Moroha vs Kirnmaru battle was great. Both Towa and Moroha's power looked lit af. Thou too bad they lost. Setsuna finally called Towa nee chan and then she died, damn that hit hard. Thou Sesshoumaru gave Tenseiga to Towa at the end, maybe she can save Setsuna with that. Decent season 1 of Inuyasha next gen, wasn't expecting too much and didn't get that much either. Thou unlike most people in MAL I actually liked it. S2 has been announced, looking forward to it. |

This episode was one of the few episodes that I kind of liked in this season. Towa and Moroha's fight with Kirinmaru was good. Towa and Moroha accepted Setsuna's death too easily, it felt like they were reacting to a stranger's death. They were like and started fighting with Kirinmaru out of revenge even though it didn't even look like they were sad about it. It was a bad show. There were some good episodes here and there but that's it. I hope the next season won't be like this one. |

The fight was probably the best thing this shit show of a sequel had to offer. As a long time Inuyasha fan, this was quite possibly the greatest smack to the face one could ever hope for. The half-assed writing, weak character development, shitastic storytelling with minimal sense made between episodes...it's like...thanks for a hollow shit show. I hope this second season tries to fill in the gaps, but this was just awful. I'd rather forget it even existed. |

So we got a semifight between Sesshomaru and Kirinmaru, a bunch of lackluster betrayals, some mumble jumble of Towa filosophical thoughts, an injured boss fight, Setsuna "DEATH"; as if she will stay that, the motherf#&%ing butterfly, jojo's super powers, a space battle, and anothet Towa power up to revive her sister because why not. Finally this is over for me, but I have to say it delivered until the very end it was a disapointing mess. |

With an underwhelming series this was the best episode yet. yet that's not saying much. Pretty obvious that Tenseiga was going to be passed down to Towa but I think it will be cool when the blade is like an energy Blade. So that's how we will get Setsuna back in Season 2. Also there was way to many questions for their not to be a season 2. Im not upset by it because it can get better. 6/10 |

A crazy finale to end this first season on! I remember when this show first got announced I was so stunned at even the idea of it I didn't know what to think. It was like some sort of gift had been dropped into my lap, one that I hadn't even thought about being a possibility. A sequel to Inuyasha!?!? That was unfathomable to me a year ago. But here we are at the end of this six month journey having concluded the first chapter of the Yashahime story. I will say I definitely enjoyed this show, probably more than most. Maybe I had nostalgia goggles on but there's some definite highlights here for fans to enjoy. The ways things unfolded is maybe not the most cohesive or best for the overall narrative but I still had fun with this show. There's some obvious rough patches and things that could've been handled better. However I loved the characters especially our three leading ladies! Towa, Setsuna and Moroha were all great to watch on screen and a thrill when teamed up together to fight an enemy. Which speaking of the antagonist for this series Kirinmaru and his cohorts weren't the best a lot of the time but still provided good foils for the girls to clash with. Sunrise isn't what they used go be twenty years ago when the original Inuyasha anime premiered but I'd say they can still produce an enjoyable story set to the Rumiko Takahashi backdrop. I do hope now that they have the first chapter completed and the second announced to be in production that the rough spots can get ironed out. Overall I'm glad to have had this show every Saturday for these past months. 80/100 |

Seeing as this turned out to be comedically long I've decided to put it in spoiler brackets. Read on at your own risk. I see, so Sesshomaru gave Towa the broken Tenseiga with the hopes that she can revive Setsuna. With Totosai around I figured he'd just end up fixing Tenseiga with Sesshomaru's tooth or something like Tetsusaiga in the original series, but this makes sense too. Considering Towa's other sword was basically just a hilt anyway she may not even need him to fix it to be able to use it. As such it's a bit cheesy the show didn't just end with her reviving Setsuna. Guess they're saving that for season 2. Speaking of season 2, it's a good thing in my eyes that this is getting one, only so that this series still has a chance of redemption. My history with the Inuyasha franchise dates back to 2002, when Adult Swim was in its infancy. I caught it one night, by chance, and fell in love. For a time it was my second favorite anime, only behind Dragon Ball/Z. I loved it so much that I recorded the entire original series on VHS tapes, 4 episodes to a tape, in order as it aired off of adult swim. During one of that channel's several re-airings of the series. I even labeled the tapes with little themes based on the corresponding episodes included I thought up. With only 4 episodes to a tape of a 160+ episode series you might imagine I had quite a few. Over time I bought the DVDs and got rid of the tape collection during a house move in 2009. I bought the first 36 or so yellow covered manga volumes from viz, but grew disillusioned over how they mirrored, or flipped the first 32 or so of them to read left to right and stopped collecting. They're still gathering dust in a box in my closet to this day. As a college student in 2006 I remember reading new releases of the final chapters of the manga weekly as they came out in Japan. Such as when Sesshomaru finally got his arm back and Bakusaiga. By the time Final Act was finally released around 2010 my fandom was beginning to wane. Not enough to not watch the first episode of that series live via a Japanese broadcast website, but the majority of the rest of that series I waited to watch on DVD when it came out. I was a bit disappointed that it condensed so much material into such a short series, but felt grateful we had closure at all. Too many anime adaptations never get it afterall. Flash forward to last summer and I happen to stumble across the news of this sequel series. At first I was surprised. Sure that anything Inuyasha related had come and gone. Then I began to get excited. But sadly, as the series began airing I began to get that feeling. It's a feeling I've felt with other intellectual property in more recent years. It happened to a lesser extent to Dragon Ball with Super, and probably to a greater extent to Star Wars with the sequel trilogy: official followups that felt like fan fiction. Toriyama may have been guiding the events of Super, but a great deal of the developments still felt forced or tacky to me. And without Lucas' involvement the Star Wars sequels just felt like they existed to make money and shit on the original cast of characters that came before. This series is probably somewhere in the middle of that spectrum. As far as I know Rumiko Takahashi herself was only involved for character designs. And even then I only know for sure that she designed the three female leads. The rest was anime original writing and it shows. For one thing, there was a ton of recycling of old characters and plot points. The turtle demon and twin brothers attached to each other come to mind most immediately. I've commented in previous episode threads about this to some extent. It's lazy sure, but probably the most forgivable thing about this series in all honestly. If you're gonna steal, steal from the og source, right? What is probably the strangest thing about this series, in my eyes, is that for a sequel to Inuyasha...there's basically no Inuyasha. He and Kagome appear so sparingly I don't even want to count when they do show up. Especially considering it's exclusively via flashback. Unless you count the very first episode I guess which I think was based off of that extra chapter Takahashi drew years later if I'm not mistaken. It's weird. Even Miroku and Sango get the shaft, though they appear more than Inuyasha and Kagome. And I don't even remember Shippo being there at all, though he probably was in that first episode. Now Sesshomaru has always been my favorite character in Inuyasha. Whenever Sesshomaru showed up in the original series I knew it was going to be a good episode. I suppose the writers must have felt the same, or perhaps the fandom because it's clear that he is the largest linchpin tying this sequel to the original series. His daughters get the majority of the attention, not Moroha even though she's there too. Of the original cast he probably appears most often even if it too is infrequently. Maybe Miroku or Kohaku could claim that title but eh, side characters like Kohaku and Kaede shouldn't even count in my eyes. So how was the story for this series? Did it need to exist? Did it justify its existence? Honestly...not really. It's a somewhat confusing mess. Oh? You didn't know Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's dad had a rival dog general? You didn't know this rival dog general's sister at one time possessed the shikon jewel and made a wish on it creating seven Dragon Balls err Rainbow Pearls? Well then have I got a story for you! Add in a comet, a dream butterfly, Rin in a tree and Sesshomaru....having children with Rin and you're in for quite the confusing, meandering ride. Complete with filler episodes that seem entirely unnecessary like that princess' contest or whatever that was from a few episodes back! I'm gonna sidestep the issue of Rin siring Sesshomaru's children both for historical and cultural differences and because I'm a coward. But anyway you slice it this story seemed forced. I could forgive it if it were at least entertaining, and at times it was, particularly in these past couple of episodes. But honestly, not often enough to justify it existing. If this series ended right now, with this episode, I'd just say it's another example of easily ignorable extra canon. Much like the Star Wars sequels or Dragon Ball GT. If you like certain things about those great, but they're best left ignored. Pretending like they never existed. As I said in my introductory paragraph however this is NOT over yet. And as such, being a fan of Inuyasha and someone with a lot of time on my hands I'm willing to give it another chance. I don't know how, and I think it incredibly unlikely, but the next season of this could turn things around. It could justify its existence. Again, do I think that will happen? No, but I'm willing to give it a try. For now, I'll give this a generous 6 out of 10. Let's see what the future has in store for this fading franchise. |

Honestly, this anime had the potential to be really good but they wasted looooot of time with useless fillers episodes and when it finally became interesting, the anime end... I really hope the next season won't be filled with a lot of fillers again because i'm really sick of them (at least if the writing was good but nope xD) and I just want the plot to advance at this point. The battle between Towa / Moroha VS Kirinmaru was kinda good tho, good surprise to see that Inu no Taisho helped his grand-daughters. Now I just hope we get answers next season, that Rin will awake, Inukag will return and that Shippo will show up. I can't say I hated this anime but I can't say I love it either... |

So Setsuna will be likely brought back now that Towa has Tenseiga. It's sword that would fit her at least and Sesshoumaru never really cared about it. Overall it was not horrible, I'll give it a 7 purely out of the fact that we had more good episodes than bad. Hopefully season 2 won't include as much filler and we are getting more action (and freeing Inuyasha and Kagome). |

Holy shit what a finale. They really saved the best for last. Yea the pacing was annoying at times, but today made up for that 1000x over. The final fight between the girls and Kirinmaru was better than anything I can think of from OG Inuyasha. Sunrise snapped on the animation there. I had goosebumps the entire final half. I think it was great that they ended the season on a loss for the girls, this provides them plenty of room for character development. Setsuna dying and Towa receiving the Tensaiga from Seshsomaru confirms a lot of theories we had, and I think we’ll see her making her own version of the sword early on next season. Despite the head scratching moments and pacing at times, Yashahime was very fun and moments like today make it all worth it. I can’t wait to see what s2 brings. |

What a finale. The animation in this episode was the best it's been in this show. I'm actually kinda excited for the second season. I do think the first half of this show is slow and pretty mediocre but it definitely gets better in the second half. Personally, I do think there is some bad writing but I'm hopeful that the show will improve from here on out. 6/10 for this season |

You know, it's funny because the original series never tried to have great fights and now we see Inuyasha's daughter fighting in space along with her grandpa's spirit or something. It's really stupid but whatever. Anyway, it was a big mistake watching Yashahime. It totally ruined Sesshomaru for me and i wll stay away from the sequel. 2\10 |

So on one hand I enjoyed a lot this show for what it was, much more than Digimon let me tell you that, but on the other hand if I were an Inuyasha fan I would understand the disappointment and frustration, that being said I like a lot the main 3, specially Moroha, they had a fun adventure and watching Setsuna die hit me hard. |

Lmao wtf just happened, how did they suddenly go to space during the fight. Setsuna "dying" wasn't very interesting or emotional. It was obvious even from the preview last episode that they were going to bring her back with Tenseiga. Welp all in all the series was a big disappointment. I already had pretty low expectations, but the episodes just dragged on until the final fight, which was subpar. I would've totally been totally fine with the fillers if they were at least entertaining like the ones in the original Inuyasha series were, but the ones here were either straight-up boring or cringe. And I did not like Towa as the MC, I still can't believe she was stupid enough to give the white pearl to Riku for no damn reason. Argh. Well I'm not sure if I'll be continuing with the second season but either way here's hoping they'll stop the obvious milking of this show (who am I kidding) and focus on improving the story. The writing is probably one of the worst I've ever seen but at least a few of the episodes were somewhat entertaining. A 3.5/10. |

a disappointing end to a disappointing sequel. i was honestly hoping they'd permadeath setsuna because it'd actually be an interesting development but ofc she's going to get resurrected in s2 ep1. is anyone else bothered by the total lack of emotion or anything between sesshoumaru and the girls? like i'm not expecting him to act like a dad but there's no acknowledgement from any of the characters that theyre related. there's not even a point where towa thinks to herself "so that's my father...." or anything lol its so weird. while im here and complaining, the new characters are a pretty big let down. i liked towa immediately because of her tomboy character design and how they said that she gets into a lot of fights at school at the start, but then her personality is so bland and kind of annoying and she does incredibly stupid things sometimes. i wish she was more like a delinquent or hotheaded or street smart or a combination of those. instead she's so naive and just frustrating to watch. moroha was my favorite but it feels like she's lacking any depth to her character at all. setsuna is as flat as the other two except her cold personality makes her even less interesting than them to me. the original series' character dynamics between the main group were so vibrant and fun, but the friendship here is just kind of awkward and i'm not feeling it. all of them being related means there wont be any romantic tension which was a big part of what made the original gang fun. they tried to have some of that with riku/towa i guess but it was pretty bad and just made towa look really stupid. also i hate how only towa gets the monthly thing where she becomes human for a night. really lame and doesnt make sense why the other two never do. giving this a 4/10 and that might be generous. |

This was actually a really good episode, easily the best fight in the show. I just wish the rest of the show before it was as good. I didn't think Setsuna would actually stay dead so that honestly surprising(at least in this episode). I hope Towa will actually have to do something to bring her back with tenseiga. Glad that Kirinmaru wasn't killed off as well. |

So i've just finished this Boruto spin off, and im not exactly thrilled, i am fucking disappointed. As soon as i heard that Inuyasha was having a sequel focusing on Kagome and Inuyasha's daughter and also Seshoumaru's daughters, i was completely hooked! I really wanted to see what kind of story we would see and how would it develop itself throughout the episodes. Well, i was completely wrong. Rip expectations. We got no story, just an endless amount of filler except for this final episode and thats it, i lost interest quickly. And now we have a 2nd season... Please, just let it rest, Inuyasha is over and done with, just like Naruto was over and done with, Boruto wasnt needed. 4/10, not even an average show imo |

Good episode, except it was a bit weird when they were fighting in space (RIP the moon BTW). And I guess it makes sense to give Tenseiga to Towa since she may be able to use it while it's just the hilt basically. Anyway let's see for the next season. If they think things through they may be able to make it a lot better than the first season. Seems now it's gonna be about traveling around finding the rainbow pearls, so similar to the original Inuyasha in a sense. |

After this episode I can confirm that the writers are so bad, either they have another project they are doing and focusing and that’s why yashahime has no plot or that they are really lazy. |

Mr. "Kirin" pretty sus and couldn't be more obvious. Wow. Pretty bold of them to kill off one of the protagonists in the epic finale. Though we all know that fact won't stay that way for long with how predictable things are usually with shows like this, especially since they've brought back characters from the dead countless times before like no big deal. Setsuna using her "blood blade" in her arm making her naginata red briefly, reminded me of Akai Tessaiga. I liked Towa's new cool demon-design with longer hair, although it looks like it's also temporary just like Mohora and Setsuna's when they activate their demon blood powers. I think what I liked most of all about this episode was that Sesshomaru gave Towa his broken Tenseiga, which is probably the only thing he's ever given her as a father. I wonder what they'll do with the actual broken off blade portion...give it to Totosai to reforge? I'm also curious about "the birth of the heavenly sword, Yukari no Tachikiri" Totosai was talking about. Maybe it's the new sword Towa is holding, going from the unique hilt-design in the ending card confirming season two. After they answered many of the lingering questions from the Inuyasha series epilogue and this series as well, there's still plenty of unanswered questions, and many more raised throughout the show, so I'd be pretty pissed if they just ended it after one season. But now I'm pretty excited from the 2nd season confirmation and hope it has another long run just like Inuyasha had, giving it all the time it needs to flesh out the characters and story. Overall, I liked the show. Could it have been better? Yeah, of course...that would be an understatement, especially with that filler episode they could have gotten rid of, and the slow start from most of the first half. But it wasn't as bad a show as some other people rated it as, in my opinion. My overall favorite thing would be both the ED songs. The "Break" song introduced me to a new amazing artist; Uru to follow, as well as "Kesshō" by Ryokuoshoku Shakai. |

I'm still in the middle of the episode, but I couldn't help but laugh as I noticed that THIS is where the animation budget for the entire season must have gone. I mean, these fight scenes look so incredibly better than the past 23 episodes, it's almost like watching a completely different anime lmao EDIT: OK I finished the episode, if every episode was like this, this would easily be a 7 or 8. Dialogue got just a liiiiitttleee corny there in the middle, but honestly I actually thought this was a great episode. I wonder if they'll go back to the half-assed bullshit they were putting out in previous episodes--I honestly hope not, cause there's a lot of potential here, I think. I'm not holding my breath, but I will definitely be watching season 2! |

LupusWarrior said: Lol so true. I actually laughed out loud. I have never seen a studio save so much of their budget for the finale. Hopefully S2 can step it up. Eh, after 24 episodes of this tripe, I don't really have much hope. Nor do I think I'll return for that, in all honesty. |

Great battle Kiramaru just wanted to see the girls power up I thought maybe SessMom would save Setsuma like she did Rin the first time Sesshoumaru just wanted the girls to fight their own battles Now he is willing to hand over a sword to Towa |

I’m impressed by the last episode. Starting from episode 21 saved the anime. I’m actually looking forward to season 2 now. I would have been fine if towas sister died tho. I want kagome and inuyasha back tho it feels bland without them. |

I think if you look at the cover image of Yashahime Prince Half Demon it doesn't display Kagome, only Inuyasha / Sesshomaru |
