THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

That event will never be forgotten, lol. Fighting between men is scary, Grandma wants to get out of the hospital and that's not good news, at least Chizuru just wants to say thank you, Kazuya is real gentleman.

Eehhhh ... That ticket brought bad luck, Chizuru didn't plan to commit suicide right? It seems like Kazuya fainted but the sinking isn't Chizuru?

The flashback of wimpy-ass Kazuya with the sexiest toxic girl alive, Mami. It's clear as day that the girl is playing with his feelings of lust.

Still in the beach mood, and Kazuya's grandma is STILL wimping at his attempts, while recovering and ready to be discharged...well, is it time to reveal of keep the truth hidden? (Glad that they kept the Pocky scene OUT from the anime)

The same clique of friends may be friends, but the interests of Kazuya, good that his friend Kibe shone the truth of light against his very eyes. To announce the breakup to his friends first, at least he made it clear of his "manliness", to which Chizuru acknowledged in her true colors.

I like Kibe this episode, because his confrontation with Chizuru, he spoke like a true friend and someone who's been with Kazuya, something like a childhood friend, and all those memories of him being stupidly stupid and not so popular with the ladies. He's a true respected wingman, I highly approve.

With the cat out of the bag, the pretense between both is no longer needed, and the rental girlfriend status is nullified between each other. Chizuru's seasickness and unconscious dive into the ocean, truly shows where Kazuya's heart leans towards. She may be a rental girlfriend, but the potential is there for her to be a LEGIT girlfriend.

Next episode, meeting with Grandma in the hot springs, how will that turn out?

That fight on the beach though...

I mean, Kazuya tries to act tough here but looks like a fool to me. This beach episode still had a lot of fan service but Kazuya makes everything look very awkward with his insufferable personality. This idea in his head about climbing the stairs to adulthood made the episode kinda laughable.

Looks like there's actually some slight background storytelling about Kibe. I actually find him more likable than Kazuya.

One more week and another episode of KanoOkarishimasu..
The beach arc continues and now we have... the same
Kazuya acting like a fool (actually his problems are because of him I guess)
Meanwhile, Kibe show he is a true friend facing Chizuru about her feelings.

Good episode altough Kazuya is really stressful
Waiting for the next one!

Kazu’s best friend is a genuine friend. Type of real ass people you really need in your life who aren’t afraid to tell you when you’re messing up and literally beat your ass onto the right path.

Really liked this episode, you can tell Chizuru’s impressions of Kazu are starting to change both from spending time with him, and Kibe’s story about their childhood. Next week is gonna be quite funny I can already tell with him having to save Chizuru and then the arrangement he had with mami.

I’m probably in the minority of people who don’t mind the MC.

Hmm so thats how Kazuya and Mami met back then. I can see why Kazu fell for her so easily. The words that Kibe said as he punched him though sure was the optimal ones. Still at least its a good first step for Kazu. The talk between Kibe and Chizuru though sure was fun and rather frank. Still it shows just how much Kazu's friends look out for him. That dive of Kazu's sure was a dramatic way to end the ep while also simultaneously pushing Mami away. Looks like the fever finally got to Chizuru then. Overall an excellent ep that did well to progress the story while also slowly fleshing out the relationship between Kazu and Chizuru. Still not sure on what Mami's plan is though.

Kibe being a true bro this episode.

Chizuru was feeling sick throughout entire episode, the movements of that boat must have accelerated it. Also kuzuya showing some balls and jumped straight after her to save her.

Hot-zuru

Next ep's gonna be interesting especially with two grannies.

That flashback definitely provided some necessary context for the Kazuya and Mami's prior relationship. No wonder the guy was so broken up about it - as far as I could tell, he was awkward but genuine and her actions were indistinguishable from genuine affection. Kazuya may be naive and weak-willed, but he isn't a complete moron.

Kazuya also moves forward and has some manly moments this episode as well. He gets the gumption to admit the nature of his relationship with Chizuru, in front of his friends no less. He takes some pain from his friends, who are honestly looking out for him, but at least gets some validation from Chizuru.

Eavesdropping is admittedly not something you should do, but I definitely enjoyed the story about his childhood. We also get to end on the manly moment of Kazuya jumping to save Chizuru (though from the preview I have my doubts about his real ability to help.)

At any rate, I'm of the opinion that the reason Kazuya is so hated is because he isn't the type of main character people want to project themselves onto. Thank goodness for that, I say; we need some main characters that, like all of humanity, are "[made] a little lower than the angels."

This show is just so juicy my eyes are glued. I think this episode might've turned Kazuya around for people. At least I enjoyed him very much this week. Seeing how his relationship with Mami began, how hard he really fell for her, how she manipulated him so badly it makes sense why he's hung up on her endlessly even now. The dude really thought he'd found one true love so I personally can't blame him for wanting to get back with her, based on the information he has about her that is. Kazuya of course doesn't know how badly she's tricking him.

Anyways, she's a manipulative bitch with how this episode went at the beginning. Landing that smooch then saying don't think about it, she knew he wouldn't be able to think of anything else! Damn that woman, trying to break Kazuya and Chizuru up then acting all meek when Kazuya actually did it. Honestly I halfway expected him to not saying haunting until the beach trip was over but Kazuya manned up by doing that. Bailed Chizuru out after his friends were berating her. The fight that ensued after with Kibe punching Kazuya surprised the hell out of me! Didn't expect that guy to feel the way he did. Been Kazuya friend for so long and doesn't want him to give up on something good just to run back to Mami. Of course Kibe doesn't know the full picture but still this scene was really powerful. Kibe genuinely looking out for his friend. Even later talking to Chizuru about how Kazuya is a late bloomer and not to give up on him just cause he's a doofus, which in my opinion could also be the author saying those words to the readers. But it was a great scene i didn't expect one bit so a nice surprise from this show.

Followed by that ending which went way more dramatic than expected. At first I thought Kazuya would have to choose between taking care of sick Chizuru and meeting up with Mami but no! Kazuya became a badass diving in to save Chizuru with zero hesitation after she fell overboard!! Astounded! Had to cheer him on in that moment

Exactly, people always hate and clown on protagonists who remind them of everyday life and especially themselves. Kazuya is a real life college aged guy who's not that used to all this stuff like the chads most people want to see

Okay, after binging the first 4 eps I totally get why people feel Kazuya is so insufferable. Man that guy is a real pain to watch..

Tbh I kinda like Chizuru a bit. She's extremely clichéd, but alright ig.

Even tho I hate such people, I kinda like seeing Mami on-screen lol. Shit's always gonna go down when she's around

Find a wingman like Kibe-kun and you will be happy with your life. What a great man, a real wingman. Top wingman. Even Barney Stinson would be jealous. A real hero.

The grandma is doing "classic" old people things again hehe...she is the best grandma.

Falling off the ship was quite unexpected...but let's see what we will get next Friday!

Kibe is the kind of guy the mc lucky to have as a friend. He beat some sense into the MC and even dare to put Mami in a tight spot with her wrong doing.
He get a big thumb up from me.
Also, grandma spent too much on gacha. 30,000 yen on a banner...why not stay f2p? lol
I thought Ruka would appear in this ep, I'm hoping to her see Ruka next episode.

She had a fever the whole time. She even said she had cold. The boat rock as shown in the episode. So it's pretty obvious.

Kibe jumping straight into best bro tier after this episode, holy shit Kazuya, you can't ask for a better friend.

Hurts to see that Kazuya needed a kiss from Mami giving him false hopes about them dating again to finally tell people about breaking up with Chizuru... and after that talk by Kibe to her I don't want to think how this bro would feel if he discovered the truth.

I have to say I feel pretty impressed by seeing Kazuya jumping to the sea without doubting it a second in order to rescue Chizuru, completely ignoring Mami's call in the process. Man he's such a character, for the best and for the worst.

Well with the build up from Kibe we get to see that when shit hits the fan MC is at his noblest self. Which is what a lot of people want to see consider how terrible he has been since the start of the show. Not to mention with all this going on he will probably forget about maimi for the time being.

She'd been complaining throughout the episode about not feeling too well. Add in a spot of seasickness and I assume she got close to the railing to maybe throw up?

Kazuya development report: He took not just the first step to being a decent human, but also a decent man by finally putting Mizuhara before Mami and also acting without hesitation to save her. Congrats Kazu!

Kibe is the ideal best friend; he doesn't hold back when telling Kazu he's being an asshole & he looks out for him without needing or wanting to be thanked. I was so glad when he called Mami out for leading Kazuya on

Didn't dislike the mc before this episode, but today I could even appreciate him. He made all the decisions he was supposed to lmao, I hope at least some people's opinion of him changes because like it or not, he is more realistic a character than most in terms of flaws. Ik it's frustrating to watch somebody not behave how you'd want them to behave in a show but it is what is is man, sometimes we can have a heavily flawed mc, but as long as he's good at heart and trying to do the right thing, he has my respect.

Good episode overall, we got to know a little bit of the backstory of both Kazuya and Mami. When Chizuru got the tickets to the ferry I really believed she was actually going to give Kazuya a chance but she still wanted to break up with him. I know, he's a simp but I think he deserves her.

the guy is growing every episode. We can't have someone growing if he is perfect since ep 1. I didn't read the manga so I don't know where he will be but to me he becoming an adult by day. Making mistakes and learning from them is what is important. Sometimes you do not learn from them at first try. We have to remember that in his head he doesn't know he is being played by her. He also loves her but the fact that he dropped the phone and jumped without thinking means he is either a hero or his dealings are stronger then he thinks.

Man, she was trying to get some fresh air and the edge of boat has a nice support when you want something to hold your weight. It actually makes sense, that is something most people do when they feel sick. It would be more real if she fall off from a faint and not the cliche boat hit something. The MC is growing and looks like a good guy but without any experience and to dam naive. This is what most of us are.
