Uhm, they're fraternals, obviously Most twins in anime are identicals, you probably just seen the mainstream ones or popular ones like in Lucky Star and Clannad which are both sets of fraternal twins |

The things is, I have both identical as well fraternal twins between my friends. And even by fraternal twins there is some similarity, like eye color, shape of lips etc etc. This is what I meant by saying that Aya and Tsuyuno don´t resemble. They have different color of hair, eyes, different height. But hey, this is anime and not real life, right? |

Ofc yeah, this is just fiction, heck we have pink hair, and different color eyes that doesn't exist in real life But, you can't really expect a similarity between fraternals, coz they're basically no different than just normal siblings with age gap or even step-siblings, there's this documentary on National Geographic about a woman who conceive a fraternal twins which have been confirmed by a DNA test to have different fathers, the woman also confirmed that the she had sex with the two different fathers in a span of a week Hence fraternals twins despite being wombmates, they're no different from just normal siblings who wasn't conceive at the same time I'm sure you have seen siblings in real life who doesn't look like blood siblings at all, like when one is so pretty and the other being not so attractive, this is a case of the other having get the good genes and the latter with the bad genes (as the saying goes) believe it or not, this is actually quite more common in real life than in anime (actually it is quite rare in anime) coz as you know, majority of anime are unrealistic with design and is pretty tropey, cliche and generic |
