Nice to see a Red-shirt Lupin episode. The characters all seemed a little younger and more inexperienced, which had a nice vibe to it. They weren't as sure of themselves as they normally are.
Also, as much as I like Fujiko's current more mature attitude, it was nice to see her younger self getting upset at Lupin like in the old days.

Looks like next episode is going to be a red-shirt episode again. I wonder if it'll be the start of the next arc, or just another one-off.

What a perfectly charming episode!

Facing a difficult situation with no easy way out, they just wouldn't leave a friend behind. Fujiko running away by herself was pretty in-character too, but the poor girl faced difficulties on her end too. lol

And the fact that they were remisnicing about it makes it even better, it really feels like a red jacket adventure we just didn't get to see. I loved it! That eyecatch was gorgeous too!

Another fun retro episode, this time on the Red Jacket capers/adventures.

I enjoyed seeing Jigen in his classic blue colors, though he did tell Fujiko it was tailored for the jungle. :P Fujiko was hot as usual and fanservice, but the jungle is no place for that.

The caper itself wasn't much though, I had hoped Pablo would still be alive. Then again, Red Jacket was all about adventures and not necessarily getting away with the loot. And a corrupt establishment is more trouble than a criminal kingpin, as often seen in stories.

Anyway, it provided a great scenario for Lupin, Jigen and Goemon to show off their loyalty and battle skills (Fujiko ran off, but that's what she'd do).

The jokes about Jigen's age seem to be pointing at Kobayashi.

It's a shame Fujiko couldn't appear at the party. And I feel Zenigata is underused in this series.

Oh look, another twist episode where they were dealing with a stupid ghost the entire fucking time. Is it really so hard to make a twist grounded in reality?

I watched this drunk but still fun because it was all a rollicking ride. Pablo and the golden 'P' hood ornament.

"How are we going to get out of this?" (Literally the jungle is on fire with paramilitary groups shooting at them). They get out and they're just laughing :D.

Fujiko caught a cold haha.

Great episode!

Very reminiscent of the old series like Part I and Part II. Same wackiness and all.

They even increased Fujiko's juggs even more than the last episode XD

Now the BD episode will now change from here on out. If you are watching this on BD like I do, the order of episodes changes for some dumb reason(same thing happened with Part 4).

BD TV Title
12 13 The Bow, The Princess, and the Terrorist
13 14 How To Steal A Kingdom
14 15 Her Relationship With Lupin
15 16 Let’s Talk About First Loves
16 12 The Extravagance of Goemon Ishikawa XIII

Can't wait for the next episode!!

"Lupin, you dummy" priceless and indeed reminiscent of a Red Jacket adventure.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

The three of them walking back all banged up and laughing was a lovely ending to the episode.

Really nice to see the red jacket version again, but it also made me a bit wistful, as it makes glaringly obvious what's missing in the modern iterations. Basically in part II the dynamic of the main group was at its most interesting, everyone being equally important, whereas nowadays it feels like the writers don't quite know what to do with Fujiko or Goemon. So while the stories are more consistently good now, they're also less special.

This particular story wasn't that interesting, but it was somewhat funny to see how they changed the names of South American countries, and of course the race with Pablo "Totally Not Escobar".

Yasuo Otsuka cameo as a statue in the gang's room! Took me a while to notice it lol (I think he was in earlier episode as well)
