THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.
----------------------------------------

- Finally, Yagi started his new work but this time in a "Weekly shonen sunday" magazine.. it even got the issue cover treatment..

- This chapter in summary = The one shot ( Gekkou no Arcadia ) but 2.0 ver.

* The main boy character looked exactly the same but in this chapter he had a scar above his right eye.
* The main girl character got a full design change into Loli Clare :p
* The grandpa & the evil mobs are pretty much the same from the one shot.
* Also we got a twins living with the main boy & the grandpa.

Ok start.. Angel densetsu shined with its (Pure spontaneous comedy) & Claymore with its (Action & characters).. i wonder what will shine in this one...

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but... Is it possible to get the translated chapter? I only find raws, and Jap is too much for me.
Sorry for all the trouble

I think this has potential so far. Not sure if I'll like this Ariadne girl though.

Her personality is quite serious although I can't deny that she acts like that given her circumstances. Lacie being a photon user will be an interesting element for the storytelling. The action seems okay I guess and the overall vibe feels less darker compared to Claymore.

Going to give this a try to see where it goes.

Thanks you! But I already read it last Thursday. I've even translated it into Spanish xD.

Now, about the chapter.
When Yagi released "Arcadia of the Moonlight" I saw a lot of potential, but a bad orientation. The "coup d'etat" plot seemed interesting, but there were too many unnecesary elements, and even a few incoherences. More important: The one-shot didn't express anything.
Angel Densetsu tought us that appearences mean nothing.
Claymore was about contrast. The purest love can lead to the darkest hate, for example. Every single chapter is pure expression.
Even "Undeadman" was unique.

But "Arcadia" had nothing special, it was pretty generic. It was just a boy saving a girl. There were no feelings at all...

Because Yagi was saving them for "Ariadne". The first chapter is full of a nostalgic feeling. The feeling of looking into the sky, seeking for something you can't see. The one of dreaming about knowing the secrets of the world.

This is what i wanted to see. Arcadia was just a random draft of Ariadne. Yagi only drew it to announce his return.

A very mediocre manga at best. The writing is so poor that I couldn't believe it was the same author who wrote claymore. It's like day&night.
The story, characters, world-building is nothing special. Jokes are really low effort. Everything felt like done by a hobbyist high schooler. Art is nothing special.

Show, don't tell!

I don't need to read that the character you just met is your bodyguard-like brother who took care of you, about your feelings, your full backstory with that said character in the first panel he's introduced every single time! And it happens multiple times in the same chapter!

I don't need to be reminded multiple times about every insignificant thing.

The reader is constantly spoonfed about everything.

"I shot lasers out of my hand, here's a backstory".

Half a chapter later,
"Hey, you're strong", "yeah, let me tell you my backstory why I can shot lasers again, again, and again".

The writing was so annoying, I would rate this as one of the worst manga I've read so far.

Yes. After 10 years of MAL use, I never felt a need to share my opinion until I read this manga. Even after reading "Hellstar Remina".
I was appalled. Maybe I'm not a target audience and its focus are young children, that's why.
You can have your opinion, but this work is nowhere near the quality of better manga's/even the shounen type.

Maybe I oversaturated a little bit, but yeah. Main problems for me was
-spoonfeeding
-unoriginal writing (story (just another shounen, nothing special about it)/worldbuilding/dialogues)
-lacking characters
-mediocre art
-poor action
-the author repeats very often

And as I mentioned once, show, don't tell. Readers will get it while reading the story down the road. The story will reveal itself, now it's feels like reading a summary on what you should know before the story starts. Maybe it's because this manga is oriented towards children, that's why the author makes sure that every small detail is explained throughout even going through the same details multiple times.

I like the art, but the pace and dialogue are pretty bad. It's a shame too because it seems like a creative concept.

I really like how she has to wear heavy boots.
