Considering the majority of the series I didn't expect too much more an ending. Kind of like the wandering monk fistful of dollars ending.

I liked the series overall....only minor gripes was all the technological crap the ninja demons had and used, and the fact that Jubei didn't even let her know he survived the volcano explosion. Other than that the series was good so I will give a 7/10.

It started off decent but had shitty development with a climax that was somewhat catchy. 5/10. I usually don't judge historical series high so this one doesn't take the cake either.

There were some nice concepts and it looked and sounded nice, but the writing was extremely lazily done. The end goal seemed pointless and the ending just brought everything back to how it started (no one really cares about whoever died, they're just a bunch of greedy people and a bunch of warriors and there will always be greedy people and there will always be warriors) The characters and their techniques were inconsistent. They were stupid when needed, and smart when needed, and they were able to do various things when needed, and not when needed by the plot. Their goals, emotions and how they acted towards others were all over the place, as well.

Pretty shitty anime. It started decent enough but as episode passed it got really bad. Felt like vomiting at some points.

Compared to the movie, it lacked the good art present in the movie. Plot was pretty much similar or maybe slightly inferior (anyway, b-grade plot for 13 episode is definitely way more harsher). at least it has a decent ending.
Overall It not the worst anime, but it's in no way any good either

I really loved the ending here for Juubei's character as it makes more sense for him to not want to settle down with Shigure seeing how she has feelings for him. It's better for her to just move on with her life and for Juubei to continue his life as a ronin. Thanks to Kitaro for the EPIC soundtrack this show has. The animation may not be as good as the film but it's still amazing compared to other 2000's anime. Also I loved the character designs of the antagonists and the cyborg ninjas were just ridiculously awesome. 10/10 anime

I'm surprised the score is so high. 4/10. A big disappointment in comparison to the movie.

I liked the anime, but I prefer the movie, these technological things didn't fit very well in the series, at first it's strange and over time you get used to it, but it's still something a little out of that world.
This would be she has to be seen after seeing the movie, saying that let's talk about the motivations of the characters, about Jubei his motivation is clear if you look at the movie, he's a lonely hero, Dakuan doesn't have much motivation for him to be helping Shigure, he's kind of a spy but in this story he had nothing to gain but he's still solid if you've seen the movie, Shigure is the girl in it all, so her motivation is not to die, now that she starts to get kinda weird, what is Tsubute's motivation? It makes sense that he would want to steal the gem at first, but then if he stole your head it would be at a premium, he would have no reason to have the gem and even worse when he has no monetary reason to continue he still stays close to the group anyway. having no use in combat, about the two rival factions in the anime one wanted to protect Shigure and the other wanted to have her power, about the one who wanted to protect shigure is dumb enough to keep getting in the way of Jubei to protect their priestess, if they had helped from the beginning a lot wouldn't have happened and a lot of people wouldn't have died, now about the other faction, we don't know much, not even her boss showed up, and even they accepted very well losing in the end, not even it seemed like something they really wanted.
So in conclusion, if you watched the series without seeing the movie, you will probably be a little lost in relation to the main characters, the series is excited to continue watching, it's not something you have to make a little effort to watch, so that's why the note it's 7/10.
I forgot to comment on the anime's romance, it was clear that Shigure felt something for Jubei but it's a shame that Jubei has to be this lone wolf, I think it's normal for this to happen in samurai anime, it's not the first time I've seen it something like that, even though I haven't seen many anime like that.

I liked the movie, but the series is average at best. There are cool action scenes and setting, but the picture itself as a whole is forgettable. The lackluster ending doubly spoils the impression. The main advantage of the series in my opinion is the soundtrack, especially Secret Maneuvers, it is soooooo good
